This is clearly a young operation with some growing to do in terms of distilling. Offerings tend to run to the sweet and mild, lacking in age & char. Had the opportunity to take the tour and had an impromptu dinner afterwards. Tour was great, very interesting and I liked how they had the tasting set up at stations at different spots within the building. We moved around within the building and learned a lot about the building, its history and how the distillery started and ended up in Milford. Valentine's Day special menu. The atmosphere was very clean and welcoming with cool decor. The food was DELICIOUS and I could really tell the kitchen was preparing each course with care. Some of the most tasteful food I've had at a restaurant in a while! Our waitress (Kaitlyn) was kind and working hard. The biggest issue was our reservation began at 6:45 which we arrived 10 minutes early for but we didn't leave the restaurant until 9:57! Over 3 hours which the manager made a nice gesture in comping our drinks. First of all, this is an absolutely beautiful venue. We got there on Saturday morning about 11am, before any lunch crowd, so they were just opening for the day, but the staff was warm and inviting. And because we were basically the only one's there, we were able to walk around the venue. The impressive copper distillation tower is behind glass and visible throughout the venue and rises up from the basement through the first floor all the way to the the second. So, check, the venue ambiance is awesome. Now for the food. It's a focused menu, but what they do offer they do very well. We ordered appetizers/sides to start. The french fries were hot, crisp parmesan, sea-salt crusted bites of deliciousness. The star of the show, however, was the cheesy polenta. Creamy, cheesy grits (same as polenta in my book) that made for an epic dip for the fries. So far so good. Our entrees included a classic burger and chicken Caesar wrap. Both rank up there with some of the best sandwiches we've ever had. I did really appreciate the server asking pink or not pink for the burger. Simple and to the point. And best of all they delivered on my request for pink, which most restaurants can't manage to do. Oh by the way it is a distillery. It was a little early for us to imbibe their full range of offerings, but my Blood Mary (Mary's) were excellent. All in all a great experience. We will be back soon. read more

If you're looking for someplace that has it all, this is your place. Amazing atmosphere, consistently phenomenal food, perfect service, and a great location. Built in a 210 year old mansion and updated to a clean and modern motif, but still retains that old-world charm. They even have a museum of the items that they found during the renovation dating back those 210 years; pretty cool. The food is five-star in my book. I eat at A LOT of restaurants all over the country and Cincinnati Distilling is easily in the top couple of lines on my list. The appetizers, meals, and desserts are all exceptionally good; I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. As far as spirits go, I have only had their bourbons, but they are all equally fantastic. And, there's an art gallery and a rum bar upstairs...they literally have it all. read more

Made reservations to check it out. Had the deviled eggs and charcuterie board. Very good and shareable for the three of us. Keegan was our server and was great. Made drink recommendations and advised us on what main courses we should order when we return. Lovely atmosphere with am upstairs that includes artwork for purchase and a museum that was very interesting displaying the artifacts found while they were building the distillery. Even have a small bar up there. A third floor is planning to have a rum bar. We purchased a bottle of the peppermint vodka for holiday cocktail making. Our group of 8 enjoyed a late lunch on a beautiful spring Saturday afternoon. I wish I could remember the name of this cocktail! It was a mix of grapefruit and cinnamon flavors and it was delicious! We grabbed a table with friends over Thanksgiving week. The place was crowded but attentive. I had the old fashion from the tap and it was ok - a bit sweet for my taste. We split a charcuterie board and it was good. I had the burger for dinner which was delicious. My husband had the Italian beef sandwich and said it was just okay, he wouldn't recommend it. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. Very cool detailed touches and I can't wait to see the outdoors open in the warmer months. We love the convenience in downtown Milford. Terrible customer service. They lost a party of 9 (restaurant was clearly not very busy at the time) because they would not allow two four tops to be pushed together. It would have NOT in any way disturbed or obstructed any way of walking. Then told us when we ordered drinks at the bar that we could not stand by the bar, that we had to sit down at the bar or at a table. They were not even busy!! Management is terrrrrrible. We visited recently and enjoyed a very nice view from the roof top bar. One not so good issue was that it had rained previously but no one had taken the time to wipe off the seats, it wasn't like it was busy and they didn't have time. The other issue I have with the rooftop is that there are no string lights, if you're seated away from the bar you're in the dark. The area itself was done very nicely at some expense but not to finish it off doesn't make sense. read more

If you want subpar food at elevated prices, stop in to Cincinnati Distilling! Located in Old Milford, the establishment promises mediocre food at inflated prices! It's like watching inflation and staffing problems put on a stage play! We made Open Table reservations and spent over $300 on dinner. We were still drinking our drinks when a hostess told us to move to a different location. We were NEVER offered drinks on the house or anything comped to explain being asked to move. I asked the hostess what we needed to do to stay in our table and she said Open Table told us we only had a limited time to sit. I said "well that is shitty" and Anisa, who introduced herself as the "general manager" told me that I was not permitted to use profanity and was never permitted to make a reservation or return to the restaurant. read more

We were really excited to try this place but were severely disappointed by our experience. Our night started out rough with being sat at the worst table in the restaurant in the back near the stairs even though we had made reservations weeks in advance. It took 25 minutes for our server to take our drink order. Our appetizer came out quickly but was hard as a rock and inedible. My fiancé ordered the NY strip which was cooked well but the mash and broccolini were cold. I ordered the risotto and added chicken and broccolini. My food came out cold and broccolini was way undercooked. We were rarely checked on and had to flag down servers. Best thing on the menu is the drinks. Try the albatross, its delicious. Skip the food and just grab drinks at the bar. For $140 we expected much much more and left disappointed. We will stick to pizza and beer across the street. read more

It wasn't busy and the service was fast but it was terrible. The margarita was awful and so was the blueberry mojito. The tacos were pretty poor quality as well after having a chicken, fish, and al pastor. Tried to see through it but just overall left a bad taste in my mouth. Then we ordered Caesar salads,which came out after our main meal and had no dressing. Husband ordered risotto which appeared to have been sitting in the window for awhile (even though this came out before the salad) and had a crust built on top from sitting under the lamp. Overall flavor was just average. I ordered the southern chicken. No flavor here, skin was not crispy at all. Could barely cut through it and was very rubbery. Everything about Cincinnati Distilling is so impressive. We sat in the bar area and the ambiance was phenomenal. The food was excellent. We had the Fromage Blanc and Deviled Egg appetizers. Both were so good! Our party had steaks, a cheeseburger, and the mushroom risotto. All were really delicious. Highly recommend the Manhattan and the Old Fashioned, both on tap. Strong and delicious!
