I was referred to them for cataracts. The surgeon, Dr Kumar was great and my sight is great. Billing is terrible! I was told I had to prepay $519.92 before they would do surgery as that was my portion after insurance. That was not correct, I owed $19.95 which means I over paid. I have called 3 times since November 17, 2025, as well as Humana has called them and as of today Jan 5, 2026 I have not received a refund that they have confirmed they owe me. I was told it could be another 4-5 weeks. NEVER PRE PAY!! read more

This is the worst eye institute in Northern KY. It will be the longest wait of your life. It literally will take half a day for your appointment due to the severe slow nature of the office. Also if you have medical questions, they will tell you "oh we will send a message to the doctor" and you will never hear back from their office. You will have to call them again and again hoping that you can talk to someone who can actually answer your questions/concerns. read more

Wonderful medical staff, Dr Hyde was gentle and took the time to answer my questions and treated me with respect. The exam rooms were clean and everyone extremely friendly -thank you! After my husband nearly went blind from diabetic related issues AND a cataract, we were referred to the Cincinnati Eye Institute. These folks have been totally nice and professional the whole time. This visit today is our second visit after my hubby's surgery and the staff have been really nice to both of us each time. If we need to get that other cataract out of my hubby's other eye, we will see about having it done here. read more

I visited Dr. Chu when my primary eye doctor referred me to his office for a glaucoma consultation. The location was convenient - located near Thomas Moore College. The staff was very welcoming and I experienced great service. From the front desk attendant to the doctor everyone was very welcoming and cordial. I endured a number of eye exams and before each I was told what it was and the purpose. Finally, the doctor reviewed my result and when it came time to prescribe medication he reviewed the options and answered my questions regarding the side effects. Things to know: 1. Although it is called the Cincinnati Eye Institute it is located in Northern Kentucky. 2. Once you arrive take the elevator to the 2nd floor. 3. Remember to bring sunglasses or take the sunglasses they have on site if you get your eyes dilated so the daylight won't overtake you. read more
