No Sign . Looks Like Subway Restaurant From the Outside .
    Kern C.

Why does this place look like a Subway restaurant from the front ? It didn't have a proper sign with its name so I walked by multiple times without spotting it . Anyways , I went with the quesadilla and a steak taco . The steak taco was pretty decent . A healthy portion for sure with some good spiced meat . I chose the onions and cilantro as the toppings but they offer some other option with lettuce and something else which didn't sound as appetizing . The quesadilla sucked though . The cheese overwhelmed the dish to a point that I felt it was a cheese quesadilla . It tasted way less spiced than the taco and definitely wasn't worth the 9 dollars or so I paid . Is likely not return or try just their taco if I'm in the area and need a quick and kinda healthy snack.

    Chicken burrito bowl

I work down the street from here and love coming here for a quick lunch. I always order their burrito bowl. The food definitely tastes more authentic than Chipotle - the ingredients are fresh, melt together and the meat is well marinated. I've tried the chicken and carnitas so far and both are seasoned well and have a nice smokey flavor from the grill. I've also tried their horchata. It was strangely watered down even though there was no ice in the drink but there's still a strong cinnamon flavor. There's also lots of seating inside the restaurant if you want to sit down and eat before heading back to office/wherever you need to go. Overall, it's a great spot for lunch and it'll satisfy your Mexican food cravings!

Inside seating is limited but was able to get two seats for me and my friend.

While wondering around on Broadway I was craving tacos! I opened the yelp app to look for the nearest and Tacos Times Square appeared and had good rating so me and my friend stopped by. We loved the home made taste of the taco shells I got crunchy which I like better than the soft. We both got the lunch deal and got three different tacos and added our toppings. The inside was limited on seating but we went later in the day and the lunch menu was still good till 3pm!! One star is lost due to mildness of the salsas. I prefer hotter salsa even when the guy warned me that they would be spicy.

I've noticed this place since they opened last year and have always wanted to try this place out- especially after reading the reviews on here! Went to get lunch today- got the carnitas burrito bowl which includes pinto beans, rice, carnitas, lettuce and fresh pico. From the looks of it, the food looked really good and I was really excited to try it! I normally do not like onions, cooked or raw so typically in pico, I would pick out the onions which I did! I also realized they had onions cooked in the carnitas however that was way too much work to pick out so I pretended it wasn't there and ate it. As always, I always include the green sauce because it makes everything 10x better! Their green sauce was also tasty and had a kick to it which was enjoyable! Overall, the meal was really good and flavorful! I mixed everything together and it was comparable to eating Chipotle or Dos Toros! I would come back here to try other menu items so def recommend this spot for those looking for a tasty lunch. This is a small spot so you'd have to look to find it or you may miss it!

Amazing California burritos, and you get a free soup with any purchase over $10. This burrito hit different after walking around the city all day, and the lentil soup is so refreshing. The customer service is excellent--they are very welcoming and you can tell they appreciate the business. Will definitely be coming back!

Came here because of the reviews. Place: is small but there are benches and stuff for you to eat there. Food: I ordered the " grilled chicken Quesadilla" and I have to say i was a bit disappointed. The chicken was a bit "meh" for me. I think the chicken needed more flavor. Also, in other places you get guacamole or sour cream with your quesadillas and mine came with just a small green sauce. I did not tried anything else but I have tried better "chicken quesadillas." Hope this helps!

Chicken Nachos and al pastor taco

Came in for the first time didn't know what to get! I had the chicken nachos and the size was perfect, wish I would've added guac but I know for next time! Overall, it was pretty good and fast service for lunch time. The al pastor taco was also really good. The meat was extremely flavorful, wish it had pineapple! Definitely would go back!

Elia's is an authentic, clean, Mexican take out restaurant, with a design-your-own style menu. While Elia's also offers enchiladas, quesadillas and other dishes, I think most midtowners looking for a quick bite will opt for the quick and customizable burrito/salad bowl/taco. These lunch options are on a chipotle style menu where you can pick your own toppings. The toppings are authentic and make the meal a step above some of the competitors - options include roasted zucchini, Mexican street corn (esquites), mole poblano, cactus salad, radish, and most of the classics that you would find at any place (beans, rice, pico, etc.) The chicken al pastor was pretty good, and the toppings make this place worth trying. It's similarly priced to chipotle, and given that it's quality authentic food, I would definitely recommend it.

If you ever been to Chipotle this is just like it, but better and cheaper! (Even the bowl they serve out of looks like Chipotle's) This place is authentic and the taste is of a higher quality. There's even green sauce! You know you are in a real Mexican place if there's green sauce. If you never been to Chipotle, its kind of pick what you want as you move down the line. There's a menu for items not on display to pick and choose. Where they can whip something up for you. Like quesadilla and tostadas. There's only ONE kind of tortilla, corn. I like this place because there's no line and I can take a minute to think what i want. They are even nice to tell you how many items you can pick. I went with the make your own bowl with lettuce (the lettuce looks a heck of a lot fresher than Chipotle's). There's two kinds of rice if you want that. Yellow and 'white' (its more like rice and bean rice mixed together). The meat options are great! I chose the Chicken al Pastor. Flavorful chicken with some pieces of pineapple and a kick as you eat it. For toppings, two kinds of beans and an array of vegetables, all cold items or maybe it became cold sitting out. Topped off with whatever sauce you want. If you want to dine in, it's going to be difficult. As there's only bar seating. The place is not for groups. It's more along the lines of order and go. But I'm definitely coming back to support a local place!

Very good! Highly recommend! Tasted very similar to what I'm used to in Los Angeles! Will definitely be back.

I saw a worker at the corner on Broadway and ran up for a flyer since I saw $1 tacos. When I walked to the store front there was another person handing out flyers and encouraging people to try out their $1 tacos. I got the chicken with tomato and lettuce taco. I had the staff member add salsa verde. What I enjoyed about this place is that a REAL corn flower tortilla was used. The chicken was Smokey and very juicy. The toppings were just toppings and didn't really add any substance to the flavor. Their chips were really good and they were presented as a sample by the cashier. For $1 I think the tacos are okay. Normally they are 3 for $8. Additionally, after talking with the staff their is a name update happening so they're now called Tacos Times Square. I got a bag of 3 muffins in order to help spread the word. The muffins were delicious.

If I have to choose between Elia's vs chipotle, 100% going with Elia's! The customer service was great, the food was way better then chipotle and it feels more authentic! This area is lacking on good Mexican restaurants let's hope this one stays around!

    Grand Concourse Bowl
    Ryan T.

Ordered lunch for pickup online. My order was hot and ready when I arrived. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the Grand Concourse Bowl and salsa. Food was great and big enough for two meals (see photo). The salsa was amazing and the complimentary chips were fresh and delicious. Will be back!

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
