7-14-25. I think these were called "trash can nachos". They were messy, but pretty good.

7-14-25. For dining at a water park resort, this place is fine I guess. We tried the nachos, a chicken quesadilla with rice and beans, a pork burrito with rice and beans, chicken fajitas with rice and beans and the taquitos. Nothing was bad. It tasted fresh and was more then edible. It did however lack some flavor. But for being stuck at a water park, it was ok. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

Family setting, next to b-luxe on the ground floor of Kalahari. They refill your souvenir cups as well as your souvenir alcohol cups (cost more than their normal price as the souvenir cups hold more liquid. Chicken quesadilla 7/10 Shrimp tacos (sub flour tortillas) 8/10 Shrimp, chicken, beef fajitas 8/10 (pricey though) Bowl with carne asada 7/10 Strawberry margarita 9/10 (very strong - just wish I asked for less ice)

Nice little Tex-Mex style spot in the lobby of Kalahari resort. Casual bar and restaurant seating. Good selection of drinks for adults and kids. Decent menu. The corn dip and the taquitos are really good appetizers. No complaints with the quesadillas fajitas or the chimichanga. The chimichanga could have been fried a little more, to be crispier, so it was a little bit on the burrito side. Still it was stuffed full of chicken and rice and had different sauces on top. Service was fine, no complaints about that. Only complaint was they charged me for extra sour cream for the quesadillas... When you're charging resort prices you would think they'd be able to just give you that.

I visited while at Kalahari waterpark for breakfast on our first morning. We stood waiting on a hostess for a few minutes before someone spoke to us. We were sat and given menus but no one came to take an order for about 15 minutes. The table behind us that arrived after us were greeted first and their order was taken before us. So of course they were also served before us. When we finally got drinks, they were brought out by someone one different and the adult orange juice was smaller than the kids drinks. I get fresh squeezed oj is sometimes more but this was not fresh squeezed oj. Finally we get our food. Brought out by the 3rd different person we've seen. Order is wrong. They advertise coco puffs but dont sell them. They actually sell cocoa crispies (for $10). They also messed up one of my daughters orders and then tried to argue what she ordered opposed to just fixing the issue. If certain people aren't welcome just put a sign up like they used to in 60s. I would have gladly spent my money elsewhere.

This place went downhill. It was average 9 months ago and now it's just terrible. We got the enchiladas because they were so good last time and this time it took 40 minutes for them to come out and there was like no meat in there. It was a slurry of a little bit of meat and cheese. They apologized for the wait for the food and even brought out an extra enchilada. But that one too had barely any filling. So they didn't solve the problem. The manager didn't even come back over and ask how the food was. We told the waiter. They comped one enchilada after we asked. Server was super nice and friendly but really disappointed with the food quality and consistency, and long wait. I don't think the manager actually told the kitchen what the problem was. Or they know they are skimping. Whatever it is I now say don't come here. My nephew also said his taco looked like mystery meat and wouldn't eat it. Double cut is always booked solid, but def looks like the best food option at Kalahari since they got rid of the dinner buffet. Skip cinco ninos!

The food was decent & there's alot going on in the ambience so you can definitely get into some fun after you eat. Not much to say, I just stopped by for a glass of wine & a quick drink.

Went to kalahari and saw this Mexican restaurant right inside the resort . Didn't wanna drive out and decided to dine here . WAit time was about 20 mins . They had a good bar which was up until mid night . Service was soooooo slow . There was only one guy running around taking orders , service bar menu etc etc . Wish they had more employees to help. Food was on and off . Loved the fajitas . They tasted awesome . Quesadilla was average . Too much of cheese . Rice bowl was really good . Tacos were average.. guac and chips was also average . .. drinks were good . Overall a good experience if not for better service ...

This place doesn't match up to their prices. I bought the most expensive bowl and it had NO FLAVOR. The chips had no flavor, the "carne asada" had absolutely no flavor. The guac wasn't freshly made. And the service on the outside food truck was horrible. Don't go here. Save your money. You're also FORCED to leave a tip. It's disgusting.

Tacos at the indoor restaurant (full service) were great. The outdoor food truck gave use a scoop of meat--- -and I mean a baby scoop. This pic is literally cheese, salad and tortilla.

Dined here while staying at the Kalahari Resort and it was the perfect dinner for my family of 4. I absolutely loved my taco salad served in a taco shell. My husband enjoyed his burrito and the kids had Mac and cheese and a tacos. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was attentive and the food came out quickly. I definitely recommend dining here!

Very expensive for very little food! Service was good but presentation was just sad. I heard good things before about this place but it must've been just seemed that way because the person had been drinking a bunch before. I'll try it again in the future to see if it's just this one time but definitely disappointed.

After a four hour drive here it was time for food. Kiddos decided on this spot. Service was quick and friendly. Although the menu is small there's some good choices The guacamole although a small scope was good. Food choices... can't go wrong with Fajitas. All the meats so good (carne asada, chicken and shrimp)

First day in Kalahari and first spot we stepped in to get a drink after the long drive. Ambiance was chill. Quiet. Our server Edwige was very nice and helpful. The food and drinks were just aiiight. I ordered a spicy cucumber margarita and there was nothing spicy about it. It made me cringe after every sip. Decided not to drink it. Ugh The steak quesadilla wasn't anything to write home about either. Just regular smegular and not at all impressed. Could've saved ourselves $40 a piece. Waist of money and calories.

It did take awhile for food and drinks to come out. I had the beef tips, which were generously portioned and very tasty. Cocktails were OK, but a bit unbalanced. Their gin martini - titled "the best martini in the US" (sic), did not live up to its namesake, but I still enjoyed it. The number of vegetarian/vegan menu items has shrunk from our prior visit a few years ago. It would be nice to have more diversity on the food menu. The price was fair, and I would definitely return.

The staff was very nice and seated us promptly, we were sat at a table that was booth on one side and chair on the other but it was an extra tall bar stool type table. Soon as I sat down the sun was right in my eyes. Yes only a small nuisance till the bar tender shut a blind (because the bar folks were effected) but there were so many empty table. Why sit us at this table ? There were plenty of other tables that would not have had this issue. Not sure why the hostess would not know not to use this table for this time of day. Other then that the place was very clean and a normal pub type atmosphere. Nothing super special though. We started off with an appetizer called the "Texas Twinkie" - okay. I read "twinkie" and think some form of cake/bread with a filling. What we got was more of an egg roll. The outside was either a wonton type wrap or a tortilla then filled with brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeño, and BBQ sauce. This was very delicious but definitely misleading in the name and the menu didnt really describe the item, it only give the name and listed the ingredients. I bring this up because we also ordered the traditional pizza.... what we got was more of a flatbread and pretty bland as well. Super basic bread with a lack of flavor marinara sauce and cheese. Also the sauce to cheese ratio was sad. You can tell this because all the cheese on the slice would come right off with 1 bite. We would not order this again based on the price and what was served. I also had the French onion soup. This was pretty well done. Not to salty, no crazy cheeses added. It was well balanced and was worth getting. My partners entree was the barley creek whiskey BBQ sauce on chicken tenders. These were just ok. The sauce seemed more tomatoe based then normal for a BBQ sauce and again just wasn't what one would expect from the name whiskey Bbq sauce. I am sure people do like this place but it wasn't very impressive to us. 3 out 5 stars is a fair rating as service was good for the most part, the place was clean with a decent amount of menu options, but the execution of the food lacked and the menu names are definitely misleading for the items we had ordered.

The limited menu centers on straightforward, easy-to-eat sandwiches and highly customizable flatbread pizzas, all complemented by the signature adult beverages brewed or distilled by the Barley Creek organization. The ambiance is decidedly casual and built for hanging out, featuring plenty of TVs tuned to sports and Pennsylvania lottery games, a couple of arcade games, a foosball table, and cornhole boards that make stopping by more of an experience than just a quick meal. For food, I opted for the chicken salad varietal of the Deli Sandwich ($12), served with lettuce and tomato on rustic white toast alongside potato chips, while my dining companion went with the tuna salad varietal of the Deli Sandwich. Both of us thought our basic sandwiches were well executed. I also took advantage of the Sunday Happy Hour from 12pm til 3pm and ordered a half-price pint of the Barley Creek Navigator Gold beer, a easy-drinking American blonde/golden ale that's very similar to Budweiser's flagship brew. The food and beer hit the spot for a casual lunch, but the service kept this from being a top-notch experience. Our server was noticeably stretched thin managing multiple tables plus a full bar. Basic details fell through the cracks -- I had get up and physically chase her down to ask for silverware and ended up with just a single fork delivered by another server. Payment was another bottleneck: after another server dropped the check, I was left standing awkwardly at the register for a few minutes while the service team juggled the other dining parties. All in all, it's a solid 3-star spot for the family-friendly vibe and solid food -- just be prepared for potential lulls in service when they're busy.

Plus, it's a hidden gem kind of place for us, since we're not from the area and it took a little digging. They have the reviews to get your interest, and the food lived up to the hype. We came here after a charity MS Walk held at the Iron Pigs stadium in Lehigh Valley, heading north on the way home to Bear Creek. My brother noted how close they are to Penn's Peak, and since I've never been, it looks like we have a great place to chill post-concert when I finally get myself to a show there. The cheesesteaks are a far cry from wiz-wit, but that's how you want it and the chopped pickles bring that hit of acid, not Phish-enduced. The chicken sandwich was enormous but you could still get a solid grip; incredible crunch, flavor that's just more than the hot honey heat, and a refreshing crisp from the lettuce on that buttery bun. The Bourbon Blackberry BBQ pork was on the sweeter side, but why the hell not; the meat was still savory, the cheddar was the right call and the slaw cut through it all. The mussels were a special for the day; elevated and so flavorful, they could have been on any big city menu.
