Last year I felt like I was at a Texas Rodeo with only BBQ options. Highlighting our Cinci Food Trucks and Findlay Market restaurants is always one of my favorite parts. Most if not all restaurants in his year we're showcasing specialty items so it was great to see different options vs everyone having pulled pork bbq or cheeseburgers and so I had the opportunity to try so many things and places that I didn't even know about. Service was also very quick at almost every stop so no long lines, food was hot and the workers were all friendly. Being outside is always a treat and i was thankful it was warm, not HOT, partly cloudy and not sun blazing. This is a great family friendly event, if you haven't gone before, hit it up in 2027!!

The food court also offers plenty of seating and clean, functional restrooms. It is a bit odd to me that mall's have gone out of fashion, but we are seeing a new influx of mall-like shopping centers and food courts, no? Like people just bought the rebranding.

I had an amazing time despite missing so many cool events: Sausage Queen, underground Brewery Tour, Gemütlichkeit games: missed them. 2019 was the 27th Bockfest. If you've never been, think: costumes with pagan-like themes: monks, goats - all of the necessary accoutrements to kick off a spring celebration. It's like late Winter Oktoberfest! You can look up the whole Bockfest history online, but it's a celebration of Lenten drinking my German monks - whatever you need to tell yourself... Mark your calendar for next year. Better yet: do the Bockfest 5K -- the race benefits the formation of a historic Cincinnati brewery district (of which the wheels are now in motion!) They understood the assignment and got extra credit. The meat literally fell right off the bone & perfectly seasoned. I definitely stole a few from my dad's plate. The pulled pork was incredible too -- super tender with no gristle, which I loved. And the sides... oh my gosh. My personal favorites were the mac & cheese, greens, and the baked beans. We finished with the apple crisp for dessert -- so good and easily enough for two people. And the best part? Everything is made fresh. We don't live in the area, but I already can't wait to go back.
