Not some fancy refined food, may not seem anything special, but you know what, sometimes simple cheap fast food is what this grad student needs from time to time when looking for something filling on a student budget. You name it and they have it. CS&L is awesome because everything they make, they make to order. This means you'll be waiting a little bit for your order but also that your food will be hot and fresh off of the grill. Everything here is really, really good. I usually go for a basic hamburger (which comes with Cajun seasoned fries) and I'm always full. The value of this place is awesome. About five bucks for anything on the menu. One of the best parts about this place are the shakes and frozen lemonades. They are absolutely delicious and round out any meal or snack. But as the name says they also serve steak in the form of a sandwich or as a breakfast steak and eggs. As a matter of fact they have omelettes as well and other items such as fried okra, fried mushrooms, and fried jalapenos...and salads. And don't forget the lemonade which is like a frozen lemonade and milkshakes too. And nothing is expensive either. Cheeseburger $4.49, gyro $6.99, steak philly $7.99, milkshake $3.49. Many items for only a few dollars. I have tried the gyro, cheeseburger, fries, and milkshake. Once again this is fast food, nothing fancy, but it serves its purpose just fine. The gyro was good and was pretty equivalent to most gyros that are available. The cheeseburger was fine for fast food, nothing special but not bad. The fries are good and have something that tastes like blackening spice sprinkled over them. The milkshake is a super sweet sugar explosion. I have tried the pineapple and the strawberry and like the pineapple better. But it is insanely sweet so for me I have to definitely be in the mood for some junk food I'm order to eat it. I'm honestly a fiend for them so I have to limit how many times I can go to Steak & Lemonade a month. There was one month where I went almost everyday but...that's a story for another day. How have I not reviewed this place!! Blasphemy! Not only is this a notorious UC hangover cure, but their food is actually phenomenal sober. Back in the day Justin and I would go and spilt one chicken sandwich and one cheeseburger because we could never choose which was better. They both come with cajun fries. One of the few places that have thick fries! WIN! And the meal also comes with a giant frozen lemonade which we would take down on the walk home. I can't express how delicious this place is. They cook everything fresh and pretty much right there in front of you. You might have to wait a few minutes but I would gladly wait in line for the food here. Packed with flavor, never dry. I've been here twice, pretty pleased. As mentioned in the picture the icee is very sweet, but I for one am all about that. I loved it, The chicken gyro was great and the fries ufff, loved it. Today was a nice warm day and it was a total turn off the fact that outside they had two group styled tables, and the 3 ppl out there were clearly together yet 2 decided to sit together on the table on right and the third she was in a wheel chair but come on, they could've sat together in one table... I'd suggest getting more separated smaller tables and maybe leave one of he group ones... seating is very limited as it is ... it'd be beneficial to have more outside atleast. read more

The food here is excellent! The chicken is amazing with flavor, the rainbow lemonade is a like a splash of happiness in your mouth. Portions here are large and come with fries, which are also great! They have a few booths on the inside, but I've never actually seen anyone eating inside, just sitting in the booths waiting for their takeout. Having been to Chicago and Philly numerous times, I cannot help but to love these iconic sammys. First, the Italian beef is extremely large. At first I thought it was the bread, but the serving of meat was equally monsterous. Up in Chicago land, you have the option to dip the sammy in the beef broth, but here it will always come semi-dipped due to the meat juice (the soggy bread is definitely a part of the full experience, so give it a try). The sammy is topped with giardiniera hot peppers. These little suckers will quickly build up in spiciness, so watch out. It's not perfect, but it was close enough to the real thing. The second sammy is the cheesesteak with everything except mayo. By everything I mean: tomato, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, lettuce, and white cheese (idk the exact type of cheese). When it comes to cheesesteaks, I'm a purist: bread, steak, and cheese whiz. That's all I need, but here they do it a bit differently. The green peppers, mushrooms, and onions are chopped up and mixed in with the meat. Then it is topped with lettuce and tomato. And somewhere between all of that is the cheese. The overall flavor is very different from the original philly cheesesteak, so keep that in mind. There is nothing flashy or fancy about it, even the signature lemonade is all just simple sugary goodness, so do not judge it for lack of class or finesse. That said, the steak sandwich, fries, and lemonade combo for about $9 is about the best thing you can get in Clifton for greasy, heavy food(aside from Papa Dino's Bacon Cheese Fries). So if you want to get something to fulfill that craving, or need to wake up out of that hangover, this is the place to go. he other day I found myself really wanting some damn good mediterranean food, so I headed to my favorite little dive spot... Unfortunately they were out of beef so I had to go around the corner and check out a place I'd heard nothing but good things about - Cincy Steak and Lemonade. I was starving when I walked in for a gyro with extra LTO and tzatziki. There were two people in front of me so I was honestly worried it'd take forever, but quite the opposite! They quickly shaved off the gyro meat, threw it on the flat top to get a good crisp on it, then loaded me up with veggies and sauce just like I asked! From there, a boatload of fresh fries tossed with seasoning and my order was good to go. When i got it home and opened the box I was at first a little unimpressed, from the top down it didn't look like much... but when I dug in I realized there was a LOT of gyro meat in there. The veggies were fresh and crisp, the fries still piping hot with a nice kick of seasoning salt, and the tzatziki provided the creamy balance you want in a good gyro. I won't say it's the best I ever had, but it was pretty close, and they definitely came through with a lot of food for my $7. I wasn't expecting that. They offer many flavors, I got strawberry, of syrup to add to your drink. I enjoyed it immensely, just be warned it is more like a syrupy ice drink then a nice refreshing lemonade. The store is small and very cramped, I took my order to go. It is for sure a dive. If you are worried about cleanliness, I might avoid. Luckily I don't think there is anything wrong with a little honest dirt. The menu covers a wide range of items, from steaks to tacos to chicken wings. They have a bunch of different lemonades and shakes. The problem for me was, as I was eating my sandwich all I could think of was Penn Station. Everything I got would have been better AND been cheaper. Forget the chain restaurants in Clifton. This gives you twice the food for the same price as Panera and other restaurants in the area. As you walk in it has the hole in the wall flair and has the feeling of being in someone's kitchen. The warm aroma of pita and meat fill the air. I ordered the gyro combo with an Oreo milkshake and it really fills you up and warms you up on fall days like today. The gyro and milkshake really satisfied my pms cold hangry self. The fries are fluffy thick pieces of heaven and the seasoning is perfect. I tried them with ketchup and it just didn't taste as good without. I wouldn't have expected to get such a delicious gyro from a "steak and lemonade" place. The portion sizes are very generous, the pita is fluffy and flavorful, and the tzatziki sauce is nice as well. The fries are also satisfying- I love that they're seasoned. To be honest I haven't tried anything else from their menu because the gyro sandwich option (which comes with a gyro and fries) is very very filling. Their other sandwiches look good too though. Overall, this is my go-to place in Cincinnati for gyros. I even prefer them over Chicago Gyros and Dogs. After hearing about this place, I finally tried this and I must say it was really good. I had the philly steak w/ fries and my daughter tried the wings and fries. The fries have Cajun seasoning/other seasoning and you will definitely know. They really give you the bang for your buck as the portion size was more than I could eat, and I'm a big guy. Okay so I my doubts at first due to the service of a young lady. She was rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. The first time I went here I got cheese sticks. The sauce they gave me was very obviously rotten because it tasted like alcohol. Then my friends and I went back to get shakes and those were mediocre.
