The whole glamour of Louboutins are the RED BOTTOMS, when I pointed out the poor job he asked if it would bother us...yes. What a cute little shop! I came across this shop randomly and so happened to be wearing some new (stiff!) doc martens that were hurting the back of my ankles. When I asked if he sold padding, he offered to hammer the leather to soften them. They feel so much better ! I had no idea it was that easy. Anyways, he did not charge me, so sweet! I have a favorite pair of boots that I wear everywhere, literally all over the world. The gentlemen at Cinderella's have always helped me fix and take care of them. A zipper busted along the entire side and they were able to replace it to match the other one almost perfectly. This last time they replaced the soles on both of my boots because I had big holes on the bottoms. I'm currently in Louisiana where it is down-pouring and my boots are 100% watertight. No water in these boots! In addition the owners are super nice and their pricing is extremely good! I cannot recommend them more! :D read more

My shoes really take a beating especially because I decide to blur the lines between what are "nice shoes" and what are "beach shoes," and being in San Diego does not help. I've been taking my shoes to Nick's in Carlsbad for years but after he retired and closed down his shop, I had to do some "sole" searching for a replacement. After purchasing a new pair of Louboutin's, I needed to get pads added to the soles to protect them from the abuse they are bound to endure. Based on their yelp reviews, I selected Cinderella Shoe Clinic but unfortunately, they were 20+ miles across town. I figured, their reviews were great so it would be worth the longer drive and trouble. I dropped them off to Abel on Thursday and promised to have them ready in 7 days. Once I received, I have to say, I was very impressed with the workmanship. I slipped them on and with the extra padding, felt as if they gave me an extra spring in my step. With the padding on the bottom, I feel confident that I can run from meeting to meeting without the fear of slipping. Also, I'm always worried about cobblers matching the Louboutin red but Abel and his team did a fantastic job. The customer service was very friendly and their quality of work is top notch! I am very pleased that I found a trusted, some-what local cobbler that I can rely on. The price to protect my soles was $26. A small price to pay to protect my purrty shoes. Also, they only accept cash here so be sure to stop at the ATM before picking up your shoes. Based on my visit, I would highly recommend Cinderella's Shoe Clinic for your shoe repair needs. Even though it was a trek to get to them, it was worth the drive and money. P.S. As I was leaving, a well dressed women, with her bentley double parked dropped off 2 bags of shoes and said, "the usual" and walked out. Wow - must be nice. I dropped my shoes off Saturday and asked if there was anyway I could pick them up COB Monday (to take on a business trip Tuesday). "Sure. No problem." The work was completed as promised, the shoes look great, and I swear $67.00 for soles and heels is less than I was paying in Arlington, VA for the same work. I had a slight accident (not my fault)- I had to brake hard. My Charles et Charlus bag is airborne along with my travel coffee mug. Thankfully the lid stayed on and spillage was to a minimum. My lovely bag got a splash of coffee and I was devastated. These bags are a bit on the expensive side. I called and spoke with the owner's son at length; he assured me that it could be cleaned and left like new. I dropped off my bag and ten days later she was good as new. This little shop is fantastic and my only complaint are the prices. I used to go to cobbler John (the highly reviewed one in Clairemont, San Diego) but that place is for cheap, quick fixes and values quantity over quality. I left my $600 stella mccartneys with them and nearly cried when they came back. Now onto the good! CSC handles lots of high-end items, given their locations in La Jolla. The cost is expensive (27-30) to place a protective sole on a pair of heels but I will pay for the quality of the work. I've brought everything from YSL's to steve maddens to him and he really works magic. The soles are always cut perfectly to the shoe, no little slivers or overhangs (like john left on my stellas). Brought a pair of my Louboutins here. I provided the Vibram sole protectors (although they also had another kind that would have worked too). They did a really great job and had them ready for me in just a few days. They charged $40 (cash only, if I remember correctly). Normally I would think that $40 is outrageous, but given the price of the shoes themselves and that I've tried other shoe repair shops that did terrible work, I'm willing to pay the $40 to get the quality of work that I got from Cinderella. There are also two 15 minute parking spots right in front of the shop, so it's been easy to find parking each time I've been there (and if you're familiar with La Jolla, you know this is important!). read more

I purchased a pair of boots in Japan that I fell in love with, that is until the heels started to get worn out. The Cinderella Shoe Clinic brought my boots back to life and in a beautiful carriage (or so it felt like it). The guy that runs the shop is super nice and chill. I asked him if he could fix the heels on my boots. He said that it would cost about $13 and I could pick it up the very next day so that I could wear the boots in Argentina! My boots felt like new again and I was happy to reunited with them. I saw a lot of shoes being fixed in this shop as well as leather purses. I would imagine that this guy can fix a lot of leather products. Don't throw your shoes away, assess them first at a shoe shop like this one and see if you can get more use out of them! I tried Cinderella today and am sorry to say I had a bad experience. I called in advance to ask if I could come today, and the guy who answered said that I could but didn't give any more information. When I arrived, he said he couldn't help me without a sample of the color I wanted (which makes sense, of course, but I don't understand why he didn't say so on the phone!). He asked what color coral was (didn't seem to know) so I said it was between pink and orange and was the color of the dress I was wearing. So we talked back and forth a bit and didn't really get anywhere. Finally, he offered some sample colors, but none were the right color. I asked how much it would be just to get the shoes cleaned (having kind of given up on the dyeing thing working) and he said $26 and they wouldn't be ready until Wednesday. Now although my wedding isn't until next Saturday, it doesn't seem like it should take almost a week to clean up a few marks on a pair of shoes. I took them home and will do it myself. read more

After reading great reviews on Yelp, I brought my precious pair of delicate European, handmade bridal shoes for a little tuck-in of the straps since they were a a tiny bit loose. It was 18 bucks. I used a shoe repair shop in Del Mar( horrible) and I always hated their work and they made me feel guilty for asking for perfection on my high end shoes(Ferragamo's, Prada and Gucci's) (I do wear expensive shoes and I don't mind paying more but I expect for my shoes to be repaired when I pay for them to be repaired).As far as I'll go with that story.. Any how, I came back to Cinderella after years in del mar shoe purgatory to find the most professional shop owner ( any shop) that I've ever worked with. Will only take my beloved shoes here. Numerous heels worn into the dirt were revitalized and made like new. They work miracles. Period.

I brought in shoes that had to have a strap attached and hidden under mesh. I was worried that the delicate shoes (white iridescent) would get scuffed or that the strap wouldn't match. This place could not have done a better job. There was not a single scuff. The strap looks like it was part of the original shoe, and they fit the holes for the buckle exactly to my ankle measurement. Truly great work. I didn't know they didn't take cards, so I came in without any cash. This wonderful guy let me take my shoes and gave me an envelope so I could drop off the cash later. Cinderella does a good job repairing shoes, but the price has begun to outweigh the benefit. When I asked why I was charged $8.50 for the two drops of glue that was needed to reattach a suede clip to a suede shoe, I was told it would have cost me $6.50 to buy a bottle of the glue, and rent was high in La Jolla. I've been bringing shoes and handbags to Cinderella's for 9 years, and have appreciated the quality of the work, but from now on I'll definitely check prices elsewhere first and be much more selective about what to bring to Cinderella's. I prefer to support local businesses, but didn't appreciate feeling gouged. read more

I always bring my shoes here. The women of La Jolla trust them to repair Gucci, Chloe, and other high-prices shoes, so I know mine will be treated right too. I used to work in the village area and would stop in for repairs all the time, and they often wouldn't charge me for little things. They are always nice and friendly and customer satisfaction is guaranteed. Am having a terrible experience with this shop. Still ongoing and it's a long story, but... I was visiting La Jolla and wanted my nice European wallet cleaned. Someone local said that Cinderella would do a great job. Wish I had read the recent Yelp reviews first, which would have steered me away. First problem was the guy I talked to seemed to understand me, gave me a price of $25, and said it would be done in a few days. I don't live in the area so wrote down my address and asked him to send it to me. That was when I began to see that his English was very limited. Shouldn't have left the wallet, but I did... My Bad... in addition to a check. Now, 3 weeks later, he still has my wallet, and says the price is now $50. They also don't answer their phone much. The only way we have been able to communicate at all is by persistently calling and I hand the phone to my husband who speaks Spanish. They have not cleaned my wallet yet, and my husband asked him to send it back to me and cash my check (for doing nothing). I doubt I will ever see it again, but we'll see. Don't trust this shop. I don't know if they do good work or not, but I know I have been swindled. read more
