4 - I'd drive 30 minutes just to come here. Skip to the end to see my rating scale. Cinderlands teeters on the edge of being a 5 for me. Top three things I look for are the beer quality, ambiance, and outdoor seating that accommodates pets. Ample outdoor seating, including some street-level tables that are dog friendly is a huge check in the box. They also have the more earthy, rustic vibe that I dig. So it comes down to the beer...I only tried one, which I liked OK, but it didn't blow me away. A lot of their stuff on tap that day were hazys and West Coast IPAs. That seems to be where they put their focus, but I would have liked to be able to also try a red, and Oktoberfest, or a stout. They just weren't available when I was there. So I'm going to need to head back when I can spend some time to try a few more brews and take advantage of the food menu. Other than that, the staff was just right, knowledgeable and friendly without being "in your face happy". I will need to give this place another try because I hate to judge on the service but there were obnoxiously loud women next to us (tables too close together for comfort), hard to enjoy with children in the area, too loud to hear our own conversation. We did not even know how to order as first time patrons and were simply seated and nothing was said. Found out to order from your phone and pay same then will be brought to you. Waiters kept bringing drinks and food to our table that weren't ours. The flatbreads were ok and drinks weren't all that awesome. I'll try again, seems to have potential! I always enjoy my time at Cinderlands! We went with a big group & were able to get seated at one of the long tables upstairs without any wait, even though it was a Saturday night. Food & drink service was quick & done through a QR code. I got the chai espresso martini which was absolutely delicious! I had only ever ordered their beers before, so I was really pleasantly surprised by how good the cocktail was as well. To eat, I got the chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside but moist on the inside), and the sandwich was really flavorful. The side Caesar salad was really good too, and it was a decent portion. Go for the barrel aged beers! We have only been to this location of Cinderlands a few times, other than simply picking up orders of beer. I think the experience here can vary greatly based on when you go so how much and what type of a crowd it is. We went on a Sunday night this time. Upstairs was closed. Downstairs had one table and maybe half a dozen people at the bar. We were carded, given wrist bands and seated immediately upon walking in. The bartender brought over a carafe of water and some glasses. The ordering is all done by QR code that is at the table. You view the menu, order your drinks and food and pay your tab. This is a system some people love and some people hate. It can sometimes be helpful to have a server make personal recommendations or answer questions about the menu. I got up and went to ask my question where the employees were gathered by the bar. The online menu states Grand Old Ebenezer, which is a barrel aged barleywine yet the description of the beer was for a stout. I wanted to clarify what I would be getting. It was the barleywine, which is what I was hoping. They have a pretty good variety of beers on draft including their "dad beers" (easy drinkers), IPAs, sours, and even a few dark beers. Drinks came pretty quickly. The barleywine needed to warm up so we enjoyed some water and conversation after trying just a sip. Food was brought out not long after. I had been intrigued by the pumpkin spiced pierogies on the menu as its flavors I enjoy and something different. The texture on the actual pierogies was quite nice. The filling was creamy and flavorful. All the accompaniments paired nicely. My only real complaint (probably just personal preference) is it ate a little too sweet. An extra sprinkling of salt, a drizzle of vinegar, or even a little more herbs could have gone a long way to bring this into balance. Still, we enjoyed the dish and it makes my want to try more dishes here in the future. I also snuck a few fries from a friend and they were crispy and flavorful and it came with a good amount. We ordered some cans to go through the tab on our phone. They even offer a discount code off a 4 pack if you purchase a draft which was nice. You go up to the bar to pick up any to go beer. We took home some cans of the barleywine we had on draft, which was boozy and delicious. We also grabbed some cans of the barrel aged stout they just released. We typically enjoy these barrel aged offerings. For this release they switched from wax bottles to cans which I think we may see more breweries doing. Overall this brewery is nice inside and has a good amount of space. They make some good beer and food (from what I have tried). It's definitely worth a stop, especially if you are in the area. read more

I've been here twice now and both times have been excellent. While we originally came to try the beer, the food is the star of the show. I got a burger on my last trip, and my partner got a Caesar salad. Portions were generous and everything came out quickly. This place was the best brewery of the trip! First off, the site has two floors and is massive! We were told the downstairs section was doing trivia night, but if we wanted to have dinner, we'd need to go upstairs. So, upstairs it was. I found one of these beers at a bar a few nights before arriving here and was an instant fan. If you like IPAs and Hazy, you must try Squish or Full Squish. I tried a few others, but those were my favorite taps. We walked upstairs, and the hostess seated us right away. Everything you order is from your phone. I wouldn't say I like this because I like interacting with a server and seeing/reading a menu. Sometimes, the server will advise you on what to order when visiting from out of town. I'll leave this section on a positive note. When you order from your phone, the item comes out much faster because you don't have to flag down your server or another staff member. That's a plus! We ordered the famous (only among our friends) Crunch Wrap! I'm a fan! My only critique of this dish was that there wasn't any level of crunch. I would've enjoyed a little crunch, but not complaining too much. The flavor was all there and then some. Solid meal, and YES, I would order it again when I return to town. I'm not even old and it's annoying but I had to guide my 60yr old mother how to navigate the ordering process. It's nothing but frustration and a hassle. The buffalo chips had a dump of ranch powder on one half of the chips. But the worst part of it all was a $30 steak that was almost inedible. Came in for Sunday brunch around 1230. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great. He greeted us immediately, brought over water, and took our drink orders. Service has always been quick and I like the QR code ordering so that we can add things for the table as we like . Staff are friendly and helpful. The outdoor patio is a fun place to hang out when the weather is nice. I only docked a star because they listed cheese curds on the menu and got my Wisconsite hopes up that I could find good cheese curds out in Pittsburgh. There are several bars upstairs and downstairs. And you can order from a QR code at your table to have food and drinks delivered to you. There was an adequate amount of meat, and the meat wasn't too fatty either. I thought some of the Fritos tasted a bit off and had a strange texture as well, though. This crunch wrap is definitely salty and pretty heavy, so be aware of that when you order. Otherwise, not bad. The chips were also crispy and salty. Decent quality, portion is fine, and the price isn't bad either. It's just nothing crazy, though, and not much cheese in there. The brownie points dessert was solid as well, but I don't know if it's worth $9. The brownie itself was a bit tough, not that fudgey. I did like the caramel and whipped cream it was served with. The extra chocolate sauce was really good too, since it wasn't too sweet. All in all, a good spot for drinks and food. I stuck to the food, and it's pretty solid. Amazing location in the Strip District! Had the Full Squish NEIPA, Strawberry Rhubarb sour, and Tracks Again pilsner - all fantastic beers! For food, I had the chicken sandwich with pineaple salsa and basil pesto - absolutely delicious. My girlfriend had the Cesar salad with chicken, which was a bit pricy but came out perfect. Really liked the atmosphere here, with the rooftop lounge space. There are some garages around, but street parking was not hard to come by. Laws of physics do not allow for burgers to be cooked in 30 seconds. I literally believe they pulled a leftover previously cooked burger out of the fridge and tossed it in the fryolator. The deadest greasiest piece of meat I've ever been presented with. Dripping grease. Slathered in some disgusting sweet greasy sauce. I was ill for two days. Do not eat here. Checked out Cinderlands at the Strip yesterday with some friends. We sat out on the patio since it was a nice day. I love how you can order your food and drinks with the QR code and they bring it out to you which is super cool. I got the Pog Whipper and I loved it 10/10. I also tried the Bombs In Pop Space 8/10 and the Pink Lemonade Whipper 5/10 - was not a fan of the taste which is fine. I got the bowl of fries which the fires were delicious. The seasoning used was top tier. I also ordered the smoked brisket for dinner and it was so delicious 10/10 and will be getting it again when we return. I love the atmosphere and the vibe. We stopped by here for lunch after spending the day at the neighborhood flea market. We had 6 people in our group and they were able to seat us right away. They give you a paper wristband if you are over 21 and are drinking at the door. You order everything on your phone so if you have any boomers with you be prepared to help them. The menu isn't very vast so it's basically you get a burger or a chicken sandwich BUT it's the best tasting so it makes up for it. I ordered the burger and was just amazed at how delicious it was! This was exactly what the doctor ordered for me this AM. With smash burgers being all the rage lately (and always looking so dang tasty)- I wanted to get my paws on one. And this one delivered. The wagyu was flavorful, the cheese egg and onion complemented each other well. I will say the onnnnly thing I didn't love is that the onions had like a pickled-esq sourness to them. I wanted the onions to be more like caramelized onions. But it was all delicious none the less. The buff chick dip was actually surprisingly unique and robust with flavor. Probably my favorite spot during my visit. Plenty of space inside as well as patio seating on the second floor when its nicer outside. I opted for cocktails and we got the Seabear attack and peligro peligro. The Seabear attack was a play on a bourbon sour except it had rum and orange liquor as well making it a fun and tasty combination. For entrees we ordered the duck banh mi and thai pork belly. My favorite between the two was the pork belly, it had amazing mix of spicy and savory flavors. This is a really impressive location. Two story bar with a good view of the brewing operations from almost anywhere. Beer selection was mostly pale ales and IPAs.
