For our Christmas morning movie we decided to hit this Cinemark instead of Harkins since my family had some free passes. I wanted to leave a little early since we were seeing a movie just released that day and I was afraid it would be crowded. Well, I was incorrect. We were like the third group of people to arrive and it never did get all that crowded while we were there. Why not? Well, this theater is old and does not have the sparkles that newer theaters have. It does NOT have Stadium seating, but that was really the only bummer. Otherwise, this is a super affordable option for movie watching. The picture and sound was great. The concession stand was quick (no line) and had lower costs than I'm used to. They don't have refills on sodas unless you get some sort of refill club, but they do have refills on the popcorn. I was happy the employee listened and put lots of butter on my popcorn like I asked for, but that was the first time I had TOO much butter! Not the best popcorn I've ever had. The location was clean and the staff was friendly. I would totally see another movie there. The low costs and lack of crowds is awesome. read more

Easily the cheapest theater in the area (not counting the drive-in, but this one is, by contrast, weed-free). The big plus with this theater is this: There's a good chance you'll walk into a screening that's pretty much empty. I've had an experience where it was just my party there and we had a blast. Exclusive VIP movie screening experience for $8 a person (or less). What more could you ask for? Bigger screens, apparently cleaner, comfy chairs? Alright, yeah, you got me there. Lacking in few departments. Really, I come here when I just wanna catch a movie, as opposed to experiencing one (Harkins). I walk in without expectations and I've never been disappointed. read more

Went to watch The Incredibles 2 today, and had a fairly decent experience. The screen quality was very good and the sound system is perfect. The price can't be beat, $6 per adult, with discounts for students, seniors and families. (On Mondays) the concession stand prices are ridiculous, as usual. I paid $30 for large 2 refillable drinks, 2 non-refillable ICEEs and a Large refillable popcorn. Thank God I filled up on 99 Cent store candy before going in. Lastly, the customer service was OK. The concession stand needs help, but the workers who clean up and check tickets were very nice. There was a guy standing near the video games who looked and acted like he worked for The Secret Service or something...a little much for a movie theater. read more

I usually have no complaints about this theater but yesterday I purchased two tickets for Jurassic World I went into the theater house and it was half full so I said alright, well I was late so I took it like a champ. It wasn't until like 10 minutes later that the theater House Began to get full and by full I mean not one seat left, then, people kept coming in, it was as if management was not keeping track of how many people there were. All right so I thought well that's one mistake but then the movie Froze before it even started I went outside ask the workers or staff to fix the movie then told them that the sound was too low due to the amount of people inside the theater house. You could barely hear anything so they did, and I appreciate it. Now mid movie is starting to get really hot inside everybody was using their hands as fans and I mean most people ... the ones next to us and the ones next to those people who were next to us it was hot, sweating hot... finally somebody got up and went to tell management to turn up the AC cuz we were cooking inside. It's a really cheap theater it's old but simple things like keeping the AC on or checking how many people there are in one theater house is just basic. I've been coming here for like 14yrs now.. this time was chaos. read more

This place is so bad the homeless don't even camp out in front. This theater is terrible. I went to the restroom and look up there's human feces on the celling of the restroom absolutely disgusting. Looks like a bad brownie mix stuck to the celling. It looked like a bad Christmas ornament. Then they have nothing that goes together. I ordered nachos and they had no cheese how don't you have cheese. I get a hot dog and the guy picked it up with his hands with no gloves I might add. Then he asked me if I wanted ketchup. He opens the ketchup bag with his teeth instead of giving me the little bags. I get popcorn I asked for extra butter so they tossed a stick of butter in it. I was like what kind of place is this. It's absolutely a joke. Instead of the moving starting the wheel out a big screen tv and start playing the movie. I'm giving this place 5 stars because you get what you pay for. This place is a great deal if you have a large family or if you are on a budget. Tickets are no more than 8 bucks on most days. Where in California are you going to find a movie theater that sells tickets that are this cheap? On Tuesday tickets are around 6 dollars (or less). The snacks are a bit pricy but I'm sure clever people know what to do. Yes there might be screaming kids, yes people may shout out during a movie, yes it might be a little dirty at times, yes staff might be slow but...at the end of the day you saved money and you had fun. Stop being so picky and just watch a movie here! I've been coming here for years and I have learned to tune out distractions and it has made things more enjoyable. I recommend this place to any individual that does not wish to pay an arm and a leg for movie tickets and popcorn. read more

The two stars is because of the ticket availability and the affordable movie snacks. Everything else about this theater was honestly gross. Actual seats in theaters are those outdated folding ones that were CLOSE AF to the other guests. Also dirty. And the people there were so comfortable they were talking through the movie. read more

Worse customer service. Waited in the concession line for 5 minutes then the young lady closed her line on us and made us get in another line then wait another 10 minutes so horrible. They move slower than a sloth when they have lines and no management. I changed my review a little because Alfonso was helpful at the end of the day and one bad apple shouldn't reflect on the other's who were pretty nice. read more

Not bad for an old theatre. If you're on a budget to go see a movie and don't mind a dated atmosphere you can come here! Took my mom to go see Breaking In and it cost only $6 per ticket for the evening show. Snacks at the concession stand range in the same price as other theaters. What I liked was it wasn't crowded at all. What I didn't like is how when you enter the hallway to the door man, it's very dark and looks scary. I felt like I was walking into a haunted maze. The auditorium was small and seats were comfortable. The projection and sound were good quality, so it's definitely worth it. read more

Got here at 3:30 p.m. for a movie that starts at 4 p.m. all the doors are locked so we knocked on the door just to be ignored, knocked again just to get told 5 minutes later that they don't open up until 15 minutes before the first show. I usually don't have a problem here. No problems with the staff. Movie-goers are generally quiet, and I can watch peacefully for the most part. I love all of the retro Disney posters in the hallway. I saw The Incredibles 2 at a 9:30PM Sunday showing. It was packed, and everyone had to line up in the hallway. While there, a group of what seemed to be middle schoolers/high school freshman were being loud and obnoxious while everyone was waiting to be seated. The entire group made a show of "sneaking" into a nearby theater and coming back out. One very charming kid was doing his impression of a special needs person. We were not seated anywhere near these kids, but halfway through the movie, there was a LOT of talking down in front. It was overtaking the film's audio. People were telling them to stop, yet the talking continued. One lady alerted theater staff, and the talker (Not sure if there were multiple) was kicked out. The theater was quiet again, but I was so distracted by the commotion that I missed some of the movie. When the movie ended around midnight, outside the theater were at least three or four police cars. Lo and behold, an officer was speaking to the group of obnoxious teens. A little further down the parking lot, another officer was speaking to the lady that got the talkers kicked out. She explained that everyone complained about the noise. The small children in our theater were more quiet than these teens. The packed crowds during the Twilight Saga opening weekends were way more respectful. In additional to all of this, there was also a confrontation at the ticket booth between a teen boy and an older woman (mother?); he apparently threw an unopened water bottle hard into the pavement. The woman proceeded to smack his arm, loudly berated him in front of everyone for being a "rude boy", then they proceeded into the theater, together. None of the above is the theater's fault, but it is more of a testament to what kind of crowd frequents this theater as of late. Perhaps it was an off night. Kudos to the theater staff for kicking the noisemakers out, however, I may be more careful about what times I will go to see a movie here. I've been waiting 14 years for an Incredibles sequel to have it somewhat ruined by a bunch of unruly teens with no shame or impulse control. Young punks. Get off my lawn! read more

I'm giving this place a 2 star Bc one time I went and I was getting bit everywhere. It was in Theater 2 there must have bugs of some sort. But other than that I've been here many of times and never encouraged that other than that time. Plus prices on everything is amazing! read more

I love this old time cinema. The cinema needs serious renovations but I still love the fact that they offer 4$ movies. The staff is courteous. Last Saturday on of our party did not arrive I asked for refund for app ticket the Manager was so nice she even offered to bring refund receipt to my seat. Who does that these days. It's a good option to go with families. The app to purchase tickets is so worth it if you are a member 1 free ticket a month and no online service fee. I hope they don't add those fees ever. read more

You know what some of the theaters are on the small side, the seats are old, and you have to get there early to get a seat but overall for $6 it's great. I really like the snack bar and I'm getting used to this theater. It's value is so worth you getting there a bit early for a seat. read more

Worst theater ever. The place is dirty and poorly managed. They do not use the ticket booths out front, so you are forced to stand in the concession line to buy tickets even if you don't want any snacks. After standing in a long concession line, I was told that I was in the wrong line and had to go the end of the other line. They could have just stepped over and got me the tickets, but that is apparently against the rules. The Manager, Mrs. Cabrera, was sarcastic and adamant that there was nothing she could do because she was getting the hot dogs ready. This place is a discount theaters so don't expect the best service the place is not updated and gets thrashed between movies there will be trash on the floor, however if your on a budget and have a large family this is the place to go lots of kids and family this is not the place to take a girl on a date... spend the extra cash and go some place classy.. read more

My husband and I come here every Tuesday $4 a person you can beat it, we take our blankets since it's usually really cold in their they blast the AC chairs relatively comfortable. And they show all the new shows you will have to wait in line usually for some reason they always have "technical difficulties" on Tuesdays but I don't mind if you don't have patience and don't like saving money don't come. It's a cheap theater deal with it but why pay more to see the same thing read more

This place is a savior for those looking to save a few bucks to catch a new flick. The screens are not as huge as their competitors but it is still pretty big. With the money you're saving on the movie ticket, the screen size wouldnt matter much. The staff here is usually cool, just your average teenager or person doing their job. Management is awesome, I had the pleasure of dealing with them a few times about changing tickets and they never hesitated to help me. Only $7.75 for ticket. New movies too! I saw the Bourne Legacy (C+ / B-) here over the weekend. I only give this place 3 stars because even though they're so cheap my movie started 10 minutes late. They said they were having problems with the projector. But once it started everything was A-OK. I can't tell you about the cost of popcorn or other snacks; I NEVER buy them at theaters. This place smells awful, the screen quality isn't clear. Seats are dirty and floor are greasy. It smells like cat urine and thrift shop. Tickets were $6 but I'm not sure if it was worth it. I can't sit comfortably know there's a chance of lice because this is so unsanitary. As soon as my family walked in we choked because of the smell. We sat in the theater for 30 mins and still haven't got use to the smell. This place wasn't worth $6. I NEVER KNEW A BAD THEATER UNTIL IVE BEEN HERE. Pretty gross. I called to find out ticket prices and found out Tuesdays are their $5 dollar days, I was impressed to hear a real person answer the phone rather than a robomachine with endless prompts. The snacks were reasonable, hotdogs like 2 bucks, they ran out of already made hotdogs, so the guy threw some on the grill and even brought it to my seat in the theater; they really go the extra mile here. The bathrooms were spotless I'd say this is the cheapest, but also the service is like a throw-back to earlier times when things were a little more personal and service was supreme. If you want to watch a new movie for $5.50 then this is the place for you. I have gone in the afternoon & in the evening, and both times I have received excellent service. On a recent visit to see Alice in Wonderland, the movie was sold out for the time I wanted, so I was told to watch another movie while waiting on the later show time. TWO MOVIES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! The concession stand is relatively cheap compared to other theaters. Nachos for $3.50 & Popcorn with real butter! Yes there are the teenagers that sit around outside waiting on their parents, but that's at ever theater. I would suggest going to The Olive Garden by the theater & then head over for some cinematic digestion. read more

Yes. It is a bit shabby and rundown, but clean and functional. The seats are plenty comfortable and tall enough to let you lean your head back and rest it on the seat. The sound was good and the picture viewing was as as good as any newer theatre. The ticket prices are awesome as in about 25 percent less than newer Theaters. As of this writing, for a Friday night, general admission 8.50, seniors and kids 5.50. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. And there is plenty of parking. There are a lot of restaurants nearby so it's a good go to place for dinner and a movie. If you have kids you may want to try Shakeys which is just next door. The usual Pizza fried chicken and salad bar. All in all this discovery makes movie going affordable again. read more

i love this place a lot because when i dont have enough money and i dont want to drive far, i just tell my friends to go to this place and we still have a good time. i think this place has been since i moved to Ontario which was 8 years old and i am now 25. Im glad its still open. Staff is friendly, never had a problem there at all although i do wish the sodas were cheaper but hey, its all gravy! i still enjoy being there AND!!! i just found out every Tuesday, its $5 all day to watch a movie so i am forsure going to be there. I Came here one time with my son and overall we had a nice experience. The theatre is older and out of date but for the price you can't complain. You can sign up for their movie club and get coupons and great deals. I can't remember the cost but it was cheap. If I remember correctly, you also get 2 movies Amazon and if you don't use it it rolls over to the next month. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise as far as the price goes. When I first moved to the area my girlfriend and I saw a Saturday film for under $20 which is a deal to say the least. I love Cinemark 8 !!! What a bargain and a half. As a retired person I only pay $4.00 to go to the movies any day of the week and the movies are the new ones. Also as a grandma I can afford to take my 5 grandsons on $4. all day Tuesdays to the movies. What a savings compare to the other theaters. The boys and me enjoy going there, sure its not fancy pant but clean and friendly staff. If you need reclining chairs (which I don't like) or assigned seats, and stadium seating then $12.00 and up are for you. Personally I like a bargain, a quality bargain and I think Cinemark 8 is just that... A bargain and a half! read more

Poor customer service. Theater chain sell refillable cups and promises that they are cheeper to refill then purchasing new ones. Then they refuse to accept the cup and refuses to refill it. Now I am not looking for free refills. It is supposed to be $1 cheeper. The theater itself was filthy. Looks like they only clean the floors of popcorn and junk at the end of the night. We went to this place b/c we had a gift card and it's the only Cinemark in the area, if you can believe it. I am actually rating it as 3 1/2... Betcha didn't know that they have REAL butter for their popcorn still. Even Edwards canned (no pun intended) their butter for real live flavoring. It has been mentioned that it's cheap too- reminiscent of the old style theaters that I grew up with. Bathrooms are clean and they have good combo deals in the concession stands. read more

I recently saw "Midway" here because of the early showtime, and was a bit concerned when I saw it was a discount theater. But I was very happy with the overall experience. The $4.00 price for the 10:45am show was great, and for that I got a comfortable seat and good quality video and sound. Somehow they manage to keep it from looking tacky and run down with the revenues they have. Two staff members I interacted with were nice, but the restroom could have been cleaner. Overall, though, if you're watching your budget this is a very good choice. read more
