Whilst at Knott's Berry Farm, it should be a must to visit the Bird Cage Theater. It is true enjoyment to experience a Melodramatic performance in the style it was created. Performances never disappoint. I always try to b watch each season's new shows.

After visiting Knott's Berry Farm so many times over all these years, I never really realized they actually had live performances in this little theatre. I first ventured into the theatre with Chel R. to watch live performance of A Christmas Carol around the holidays. During my last visit, I took the kiddies to watch Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies. This is a cozy venue that offers short performances (maybe half hour shows on average). There is a small marquee outside the theatre that advertises whatever show is currently playing and the times of the performances. It is a great place to rest your tired feet for awhile and be entertained. It's really charming that they put so much time and thought into live performances. Watching the performers, it is obvious the passion they have for their trade. Each show I watched was entertaining and enjoyable. I loved that Scrooge is still relevant and being performed. It's a great story that we call can still learn from. I was shocked that Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies had such a following. They had loyal fans and groupies! One person in the audience actually made clothing and accessories for stuffed animals to represent each band member and placed it on the stage. It was an great performance. Who knew all those different genres of music could be played as bluegrass music? If I was a tourist with limited time, I might focus on the rides and different venues of the park. Knowing we usually go once a year or so, this is something I will definitely check out again. If I want to take it slow and savor the history and nostalgia of the ghost town at Knott's, this is a great place to check out.

Located within Knotts Berry Farm this little theater performs short plays (usually around 30 minutes) and is free with park admission. It's known as the place where comedian/actor Steve Martin started his career as a young man. Check the daily park performance schedules for showtimes and what play is being presented. Or listen for the barker shouting and the pipe organ playing at the edge of Ghost Town encouraging people to come see the show. The acting is of professional caliber but the production was local community theater level. Sets were bare minimum; it felt like a play you might see in 1890 which is fitting for a theater in Ghost Town. I watched A Christmas Carol and actually enjoyed it very much although they really had to change the story (only one spirit!) in order for it to be told in half an hour. The writing needed to amend the story was often creative and humorous. The cast comes outside the theater to pose for photos with guests after the show which I thought was cool.

My daughter, her friend and I, visited Knott's today. We realized they were calling people in last minute before closing the doors. We found some seats (they're all pretty good) and were eager to watch A Christmas Carol. The play was just the right length. Not too long, but not short either, as is typical with some rides. It may not be suitable for young squirmy children. The actors did a fabulous job. Their costumes were chosen well, their accents spot on, the lighting and sound on point, storyline done well, and more. The audience all seemed to enjoy it. This could have easily cost $40+ elsewhere. What a lovely treat, especially on a day where the temps were over 90. Well done.

The act was good but the conditions inside were very hot and still air. Think about investing in a huge fan or sump cooler.

When I checked the movie schedule online last night, I saw an 11:30 AM showtime, so we left early in the morning to make it on time. However, when we got there, we were told that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. We had driven all the way there specifically so my mom could watch the movie with Korean subtitles, so we had no choice but to buy four tickets for the 1:15 PM showing, which did have Korean subtitles. While we were waiting, we bought nachos there, charged our cell phones, and relaxed for a while and had lunch in that mall. Being able to charge our phones was a huge plus. Also, one of the female employees, who was quite tall, was very kind and told us that there was a seating area toward the back of the theater. Thanks to her, we were able to sit there for a while, charge our phones, and eat our nachos. However, there were two women's restrooms inside the theater. One of them had no hand soap at all. I went and told the female employee, and she asked me, "There's no hand soap at all?" I said there was none at all. She then told me there was another women's restroom on the other side, so I went there, and that restroom did have soap. Before the movie started, I went back to the first restroom because it was closer to the theater, but even after more than two hours, there was still no hand soap at all. I was very disappointed, so I had to go to the restroom that was much farther away from the theater. Overall, this theater has a lot of good points. The staff is friendly, the seats are pretty comfortable, the theater is clean and pleasant, you can charge your cell phone, and parking is free. Also, for older people like my mom who want to enjoy the latest Hollywood movies with Korean subtitles, that is definitely the biggest advantage. However, I do have two suggestions: I hope they maintain the restrooms better. If there is no soap at all in the restroom, it does not seem right that no one refills it for more than two hours. I wish they would provide Korean subtitles for all showtimes. If that is not possible, I hope they clearly indicate on their website which showtimes have Korean subtitles and which ones do not. We came from far away, so it was very disappointing to find out that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. Because of that, we ended up wasting two hours even though we had driven all the way there specifically for the Korean subtitles.

They recline but not all the way. Since its so small every conversation, every candy wrapper, every recliner echos. If you have sensory issues this is your warning. The theater was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the overall atmosphere made for an enjoyable night out. Best part tickets were $9.00. I repeat $9.00 for a early showing and $12.00 for evenings. Military and law enforcement get a discount. 3.5 rounding up.

The employee who helped me was unbelievably rude from the start. She had a very condescending tone, barely acknowledged me, and just stood there in silence while I was trying to order, like I was inconveniencing her by being a customer. When I tried to show my ticket on the app, she told me to zoom in. I couldn't, so I offered to just read it out loud to make things easier. Instead of working with me, she snapped and raised her voice saying she has a hearing aid. Okay... but how does that justify being aggressive and unhelpful? There was zero patience, zero communication, and just an overall hostile attitude the entire interaction. It honestly felt uncomfortable and unnecessary going in the movie. It's frustrating because the theater itself is perfectly fine, but customer service like that completely kills the experience. I shouldn't feel like I'm bothering someone just to watch a movie. Wouldn't come back unless they seriously improve how they treat customers at the front.

Fork and knife I think it's called. We were in the back row. Both of our seats didn't recline. I pressed the button and it didn't move at all. It was broken. My husband's chair was broken too. Disappointed there. Then there was the ticket fiasco. My husband and I got there early. Thankfully we did. We grabbed our back row seats and were excited for the movie. Some poor came over to us and told us we were in their seats. We showed them our tickets. They showed us their tickets. They both had the same row and seats. What the heck? We were confused. So they went back down and talked to AMC employees. Got their tickets fixed. A little later, another group came over to us and told us we were in their seats. Same issue again. They had 3 people though. Those 3 people, had to go to AMC staff also. My husband and I noticed other people in the theater having issues with their seats as well. Lots of unhappy customers with triple booked seats. Yikes. All bad. So between the triple booked seats and our recliner chairs not working, it wasn't the best experience. Also, the audio in our movie kept going out randomly. We were watching Mortal Kombat and it was intense fight scenes, then the sound would stop. That happened twice. We should have complained. The overall experience was unsatisfactory.
