Today (May 10th, Sunday), I went to Regency Movie Theater in Buena Park, Orange County, with my mom…read moreand my two brothers to watch a movie. We went to see The Devil Wears Prada 2. When I checked the movie schedule online last night, I saw an 11:30 AM showtime, so we left early in the morning to make it on time. However, when we got there, we were told that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. We had driven all the way there specifically so my mom could watch the movie with Korean subtitles, so we had no choice but to buy four tickets for the 1:15 PM showing, which did have Korean subtitles. While we were waiting, we bought nachos there, charged our cell phones, and relaxed for a while and had lunch in that mall. Being able to charge our phones was a huge plus. Also, one of the female employees, who was quite tall, was very kind and told us that there was a seating area toward the back of the theater. Thanks to her, we were able to sit there for a while, charge our phones, and eat our nachos. However, there were two women's restrooms inside the theater. One of them had no hand soap at all. I went and told the female employee, and she asked me, "There's no hand soap at all?" I said there was none at all. She then told me there was another women's restroom on the other side, so I went there, and that restroom did have soap. Before the movie started, I went back to the first restroom because it was closer to the theater, but even after more than two hours, there was still no hand soap at all. I was very disappointed, so I had to go to the restroom that was much farther away from the theater. Overall, this theater has a lot of good points. The staff is friendly, the seats are pretty comfortable, the theater is clean and pleasant, you can charge your cell phone, and parking is free. Also, for older people like my mom who want to enjoy the latest Hollywood movies with Korean subtitles, that is definitely the biggest advantage. However, I do have two suggestions: I hope they maintain the restrooms better. If there is no soap at all in the restroom, it does not seem right that no one refills it for more than two hours. I wish they would provide Korean subtitles for all showtimes. If that is not possible, I hope they clearly indicate on their website which showtimes have Korean subtitles and which ones do not. We came from far away, so it was very disappointing to find out that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. Because of that, we ended up wasting two hours even though we had driven all the way there specifically for the Korean subtitles.

The seats and theater floors are clean, which is huge when you really just want to relax and enjoy a movie. I've never had a problem with lighting, sound or the projectors. Harkins is definitely our go-to theater.

Instead of working with me, she snapped and raised her voice saying she has a hearing aid. Okay... but how does that justify being aggressive and unhelpful? There was zero patience, zero communication, and just an overall hostile attitude the entire interaction. It honestly felt uncomfortable and unnecessary going in the movie. It's frustrating because the theater itself is perfectly fine, but customer service like that completely kills the experience. I shouldn't feel like I'm bothering someone just to watch a movie. Wouldn't come back unless they seriously improve how they treat customers at the front.

And what a great movie that was! But I won't get into the details*. Just watch it, even if you don't get extra credits. I went on Friday when the movie premiered in theaters. When I got off work on that Friday, I could have caught the 4:50 PM showing at the Cerritos theater or the 6:00 PM showing at the Long Beach theater. Knowing that movie previews would last about a half hour before the actual start of the movie, I chose the earlier time since I was planning to cook dinner at home and didn't want to eat too late. I arrived about a couple of minutes before showtime, and there were just as many customers in front of me. However, they both had trouble opening the Regal app. I was at least able to pull up my Regal Crown Club QR code, though the rewards couldn't be seen on my screen. I knew I had a reward for a free Small drink as well as a free ticket from customer relations, the latter of which is another story I'll withhold from this review. Martin was the employee who rang me up and redeemed both rewards. However, he made a couple of missteps. First, since I got a Small drink, I should have been offered a Medium or Large size for a small upcharge. The Medium is a half dollar more than a Small while a Large is a dollar more than a Small. I was okay with settling for the free Small, but once I saw they offer Pepsi Zero Sugar, I would have been okay paying the extra $1 for a Large, which would have been eligible for a refill. Secondly, Martin mentioned that I could have gotten an Icee drink even though there's another reward for a free Small Icee that is worth 1,000 credits more than the free Small drink. However, knowing that an Icee would have way more sugar than a Pepsi Zero Sugar, I kept at it with the Pepsi Zero Sugar. Even for a Small size, it was a pretty large cup that I can't help but wonder how much larger a Large would have been! But like I said, I was okay with getting the Small. And maybe that was the better decision. I used the restroom before the movie started, and I had to go again when the movie ended. The first time, I used a restroom on the first floor that was single occupant use only. However, they have additional restrooms on the second floor, and those are the community type restrooms. As for during the movie, the auditorium was a rather small one, but had ample space between each row of reclining chairs. I sat at Row D, which was kind of close to the screen, but not nearly as close compared to an auditorium with stadium seating. The seating in this auditorium was mostly flat, but with nobody sitting in front of me, I had no trouble viewing the screen, especially when I reclined the chair as far back as it could go. The picture and sound were great. So great that during one of the scary scenes, I legit thought an earthquake was striking when it was actually the scene in the movie causing such a sudden jolt. And keep in mind, this was only the Standard viewing of the movie; had it been IMAX or even 4DX, I might have jumped out of the chair! lol Overall, it was a good experience watching the movie that I'm keeping my original rating of 4 stars out of 5. Even though it's a little further away from me than the Long Beach theater, I will definitely consider catching the next movie here if the showtimes work better for my schedule. * After the movie, I learned a tragedy had happened to one of the actors from the movie. Hudson Meek, who played one of the human antagonists in "The End of Oak Street", unfortunately passed away in late 2024. He didn't appear in that many scenes, which were filmed much earlier that year, but the posthumous release was dedicated to him. RIP Hudson Meek, gone way too soon :(

If you visited the one in Fullerton, you know that with Costco next to it, it can be very challenging to find parking on the weekends. This one is located on a strip mall and it is a very small theatre. They tend not to offer all the movies and they do not have IMAX or Dolby. Once you walk in there is a person on the stand scanning your tickets and the concession stand is right there. They do have a bar right after the concession stand and they have some claw machines. They only have one set of restrooms which are by the entrance. The theatres are small but comfortable. They have the booths that are a little bit older so they do not recline as much but they do have seat warmers. Some of their seats are showing wear and tear. If you're looking for an easy theatre to get in and get out, this is definitely the one. For us this is the theatre that we watch movies that we do not have interest to watch on IMAX or Dolby.

I do not like that they are extremely unorganized as the Norwalk AMC always checks the email confirmation before they give us the order. The whole point of me ordering ahead of time is so when we arrive we won't have to wait, I like to pick up our order, get our drink, get comfortable and ready to enjoy the show. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the facility was extremely clean. The cashier that took care of me was so friendly and helpful. She got my order out as fast as possible. The chairs were comfortable and had seat warmers. I just don't like that they don't recline all the way but they were still comfortable enough to enjoy the show.

The theater isn't huge like your typical movie theater, but honestly, that wasn't a negative for us at all. We actually really enjoyed the smaller, more intimate feel. What really stood out was their extensive food menu. My husband and I tried their taquitos, and honestly, they were so tasty! We also got the nachos. My husband gets nachos every single time we go to the movies, and he loved the Hispanic twist they put on these. Beer, good food, and a movie? We were definitely satisfied! They also have signature cocktails inspired by the movies they're showing, which I thought was such a cute touch! We'll definitely be back.

They were a hired research company. Research organizations like this one should be standing far away from the doors in a different color uniform and if they want our opinions, should quickly identify themselves and let the customers know what's in it for them, i.e. if you complete this short survey, we have a movie ticket for you to use at your next visit. It's pretty audacious to expect people to give of their valuable time so the research company can make money. Nothing was given to us for our time. Additionally, DBox was pretty disappointing. I was expecting a 4DX like experience but all it was was an occasional shake.
