There is a clear difference between the XD theater room and the standard rooms at Cinemark. This particular room was more intimate which is great, but some of the seats looked worn. It still had the recliner and heated seats, but I felt like the seating was closer than in the XD room. The sound quality however was excellent. Cinemark is my preferred theater and will definitely return for more of the XD showings.

I keep coming back, so they're doing something right. I used to go to AMCs almost exclusively, but Cinemark's monthly movie club is too good to ignore. My only wish is that you can use half a credit to upgrade to 3D, XD, etc. I want the good stuff if I'm stepping away from the comfort of my living room to watch a movie. Food selection is okay, but they do have personal Pizza Hut pies and dippin' dots, which is a plus for me!

First time here and I was so much disappointed with the sound quality . We went to watch an Indian movie .. sound was too less when the dialogues go and it becomes more during background music . Good and comfortable seats with heated seats :.. I thought all screens are XD .. there is only ONE XD screen . That screen is good . But other screens are just normal . Nice location . Lots of restaurants around .. might not go back due to degraded sound experience ...

I was disappointed in this theater today. It is the holiday weekend so I get it is extremely busy. But today, it looks like they let the cleaning go in theater 5. Popcorn all over the floor, and my seat had soda spilled. They got 2 star because my going to get someone to clean was not an issue. The guy just came and did it. I hope the cleanliness that I have experienced here in the past is not changing like its competitors. The heated seat came in handy on this 30-degree evening.

Great movie experience. I love the heated, reclining seats, especially on a cold day. Bathrooms were clean, service at the counter was fast. Previews lasted 30, which is fine with me. Looking forward to returning.

Late review - I really enjoyed patronizing this Cinemark. The theater was clean and the popcorn was fresh. My favorite feature is the heated seats :)

We love this theater! Kid friendly, friendly environment for the whole family. Parking for disabled is right in front of the entrance, have many snacks and drinks to choose from. They even have pizza hut pizzas available for purchase. Must go ! I love Cinemark

The seats were very comfortable, plenty of parking. Ordered ahead for popcorn and as soon as we sat down they brought it. Clean theater too.

I ordered tickets online and discovered they have discounted tickets on Tuesday plus 50% off popcorn if you sign up for their loyalty club... which I did. If you buy online, you'll need to download the app. The app was actually very easy to use. The theatre itself was a bit tucked away but I eventually found the parking lot. There's ample parking and the building echoed times when movie theaters were bustling with visitors. It was a little run down and quiet and 2 people working concessions, 1 working as the ticket checker, and... that was it. There are a few claw machines and a motorcycle arcade game, plus a Photo Booth that didn't really work. Restrooms were decently clean... though there was one stall where the cover to the toilet paper dispenser had opened and the entire roll had tipped into a toilet bowl. There are about 15 screens there and - wow - I did not expect the size of those reclining chairs. Because they reclined, the aisles between each row are quite spacious. My kids are small and they were tiny in the seats, haha. Very comfy and though there were cracks in the seats, it didn't really have a negative impact on me. The theatre looked clean. For a first trip with my kids, it was a pretty good experience! I was terrified that the kids wouldn't sit still or would be loud, but it wasn't bad. It did help that there were only two other people on my row with the rest all crowded on another row. The ticket checker was pretty blasé if he wasn't checking tickets but the concession stand staff were pretty helpful and nice! No real complaints other than maybe have a step stool for kids to wash their hands a little easier. This is a good location for another movie outing!

The theaters are currently swarmed now with Wicked drones (the proletariat indoctrinated with marketing brainwashing) - even saw a pair dressed like the two lead simps. Witches buy popcorn. When I entered my non-Bewitched theater early, I joked to another of the few patrons there in the empty Nuremberg theater "why didn't you come dressed as Görring?" This went over better than my joke to the concession drones, asking if they're seeing a lot of brawls in the Wicked-screenings. Blank dumbfounded stares. Doesn't anyone remember laughter? So: two minor complaints at this evening's prematurely ended evening for my "free" ish flick: 1) A bossy short Dad and his son came and I was sitting in one of their seats - it was early. I cheerily explained I didn't wanted to crowd the person next to me but now I'd move. No big deal. That was until short stuff sternly ordered me to get up. "Get up!" 30 minutes before the film in a half empty theater as I was being unjustifiable polite. I said something lighthearted in response to the Sultan's Command and there were no problems - until after the homunculus sat down and then proceeded to pull up his furry bare stinky feet yogi style into his lap to do what any decent civilized man would do at any movie theater in front of his child and strangers: he began to pick his filthy feet. 2) After I got that bestial grooming tactic out of my mind after twenty minutes of ignoring it in my peripheral vision, then on the other side of me I heard the familiar "sppporitzzzclick" of a Good Ole Boy crackin' up a cold one. This is doubtless illegal - at first I ignored it but after his second beer gassed up the area to a dive bar level stench miasma, I left the theater early. I wondered as I escaped the Hollywood whitewash flick (I was buying Russell Cow's twinkling eyes), whether Mountainside staff would have done a thing if I had reported the primitivist or the drunks. It's why I typically only attend movies that are sparsely populated by the Great Unwashed. Jean Paul Satre said it about - that quote about what other people are.

Our group of 17 people attended a screening of Dhurandhar in Theater Room 1, and the sound volume in the auditorium was excessively loud to the point of being physically uncomfortable. More than 6 members of our group developed headaches during the movie, and several others expressed significant discomfort and dissatisfaction. The volume level was not just Immersive--it was Overwhelming, Harsh, and Disruptive and Unsafe, making it difficult to enjoy the film. I personally went to speak with the manager 8 minutes during the screening and was told that the volume would be lowered. Unfortunately, it did not seem that any meaningful adjustment was made, as the sound remained excessively loud for the duration of the movie. 4 Hours long. Additionally, many other guests in the theater were also expressing dissatisfaction with the volume level, which makes it clear this was not an isolated concern from our group alone. A movie theater experience should be enjoyable and safe for all guests, but the sound levels during our visit were far beyond what would be considered Reasonable or Safe. This issue affected a large portion of our group and turned what was meant to be a fun outing into a very disappointing experience. We strongly recommend that management review and properly regulate the audio levels in Theater Room 1, particularly for screenings like Dhurandhar, to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all customers.

The Cranford Theater is an honorable holdout in the war against AMC nonsense, even more important because of its relative proximity to the nauseating Route 22. A ticket to The Holdovers was a reasonable $13.75, and it's delightful to see a place that avoided the pointless reserved seat bandwagon. The young guy selling tickets was quick and friendly. Fellow explorers of inner-ring suburbs should note that Cranford is closer than you might think and the theater is minutes away from the train station. (For my next coffeehouse open mic performance I plan to read the first two sentences of this review in the voice of the Paul Giamatti character from Holdovers).

In 2017, New Visions theaters took over and it seemed like it may have been a bright new chapter in the theater's history. However, in September 2019 the theater was unceremoniously shuttered and many fans of this wonderful downtown area in New Jersey were left to wonder if their beloved theater would ever play to audiences again. Fast forward to November 8, 2019 and the Cranford Theater has reopened! This time out it is owned by the folks who own the property. They did not just dust off what was there and open back up. Instead, the entire theater has undergone a renovation. New lighting, projectors, seats, carpeteting, a new concession stand and even a "mobile" box office station are all part of this treatment. The blue, gold and silver colors incorporated into the theater are intended to align with some of the colors that represent Cranford itself, making for a theater that truly wants to be part of the community. The theater is full of friendly staff and courteous, local patrons who all seem to know each other (I have watched entire rows of people chatting with each other like old friends). The new seats are very comfortable and have a nice high back. There are several screens divided in a space that once only showed one movie so this is not the place to look for an IMAX or Dolby experience. However as someone who goes to movies often I had zero problem with the screen size and sound quality. You may not want to see "Star Wars" here, but a film like "Joker" or "Last Christmas" is just fine on these screens. I am very happy Cranford Theater has made a return to the neighborhood and I have every intention of supporting it as much as I can.
