I have always liked this movie theater! I went here to see a late evening showing of Michael. What I appreciate is they have discount admission on Tuesdays. They've gone up, but so has everywhere and everything else these days. Still, a good experience. The leather, heated, reclining chairs are the best part. I enjoyed the movie in comfort and cleanliness. I also like to pop in and purchase my tickets (select my preferred seat) in advance at the kiosk on the right of the entrance. There is a clear difference between the XD theater room and the standard rooms at Cinemark. This particular room was more intimate which is great, but some of the seats looked worn. It still had the recliner and heated seats, but I felt like the seating was closer than in the XD room. The sound quality however was excellent. While I live some aspects of this theatre, I hate others; let's just start with the positives. Cinemark Watchung has the most comfortable & spacious theaters in the area. There seats recline and are also heated for those cold days. There is so much space between the rows and I love that; in addition, they have ample parking. However, they have the worst concession in the area. I have never come to this theatre when I didn't have to wait on line for .30 minutes or more. They have precooked food to grab and go, but when you are going to a late movie (after 11:00) the grab-n-go food is dried out because it's been sitting there for God knows how long. I asked for a hot dog and couldn't get a freshly made one, only the grab and go, so I asked for mozzarella sticks and was told the heating unit wasn't working (lies I'm sure) I was told the only food they had is what was out; which means 5 old hot dogs, and 1 dried out orders of wings. Overall Cinemark has great theatres, but don't get your hopes up for the snacks unless you're okay waiting on a long line at an understaffed concession stand. read more

I keep coming back, so they're doing something right. I used to go to AMCs almost exclusively, but Cinemark's monthly movie club is too good to ignore. I have been coming to this theatre for years and was even part of the rewards program. After multiple times of having issues I will not be coming back. Last time I went and saw two rats running down the aisle. The past two times I have also been here they have given me and my sister issues about identification. I recently got my license and the dmv is mailing me my ID but I had a photo of my paper license and they wouldn't allow me to use it. They also wouldn't let my sister use her permit as a form of identification to show her name and birth date. What 16 year old has a formal id from the dmv. I was disappointed in this theater today. It is the holiday weekend so I get it is extremely busy. But today, it looks like they let the cleaning go in theater 5. Popcorn all over the floor, and my seat had soda spilled. They got 2 star because my going to get someone to clean was not an issue. The guy just came and did it. I go to see 28 years later with my friends and am of age to see it in the theater (18) and this guy asks for my ID (driver's license) which I don't have because I can't drive yet, but I bring my dad in the theater to confirm with the guy that I'm 18. This guy says "that's not good enough, I need to see a video of your passport", REALLY man my dad just came in to tell you that I'm 18 and he looks like my dad why would he lie? Long story short, I had to sneak into the theater like a 12 year old even though my dad literally confirmed with him that I'm 18. read more

Went to check out the new cinema for the first time on Tuesday evening. Similar to AMC(my usual go to cinema) they offer a discount ticket day on Tuesdays. Tickets are $5.50 for the standard 2D movies with an up charge for premiums like 3D or XD movies. I joined their movie club online which costs $8.99 monthly and gets you one standard ticket to use monthly and you can also buy a companion ticket at the discounted rate of $8.99. You also get 20% off on concessions as well as the online ticket reservation fee is waved. I reserved 2 tickets to see Long Shot. We went to get some snacks for the movie and I tried to order some pretzel bites but they were out of the cheese sauce that comes with them so I went with a large popcorn and soda. With the discount it was only $11 and change and you can get free refills so I thought that was a pretty good deal. They sell all of the standard snacks as well as serving Pizza Hut and they have a Starbucks too... We entered the theater and it is really nice with brown leather reclining seats that are also heated... just no tables. We enjoyed the movie and the employees were friendly and the bathrooms clean. I look forward to returning and trying out their special XD theatre. Great addition to the area. read more

I decided to attend a movie at the Cinemark Watchung Theater for the first and absolutely last time tonight. I usually go to the AMC theaters at the Bridgewater Mall or in Morristown but decided to go to the Cinemark tonight because the movie time was better. As I've been working all day long, I decided to pay in advance, as well as order some food that was supposed to been delivered to my seat. That never happened. In fact, I had to get up and leave the movie twice just to ask if and when they were going to bring the food I had paid for. The first employee I asked me if I still wanted the food to which I replied, "Of course, I paid for it and I'm hungry." An hour later and still no food I got up a second time and this time I found someone else who took me to the front counter where they were cleaning up. By this time 2 hours had transpired from the time the food was supposed to have been brought to my seat and yet I had received nothing. One of the employees asked if I still wanted the food and course I wanted it. They found the food that I had ordered sitting behind the counter, which had not been delivered. This included a stale chicken sandwich. By this point the food was completely cold so I asked if they could give me a hot one. At that point I asked to speak with the manager. The manager was completely useless and instead of speaking to me she just told the employee to give me the food. The manager didn't want to be bothered. So, the employee stuck the cold chicken sandwich in a microwave and then gave me everything. I informed everyone that I would not be back to the movie theater again, especially since this was my first visit and the service was so bad. I learned my lesson and I have no intention of spending so much money to get so little, not to mention I had to get up twice and leave the movie just to find out where my food was. By the time I got back to my seat with my food, which had not been delivered to me, it was not only gross but the movie ended just a few minutes later. I will not be back. read more

popcorn took FOREVER (20 mins about) and they literally forgot about us so another employee had to give us our popcorn which was cold by then. Before we were even inside the building, an unmarked employee yelled at us from her car because we had one small water bottle in hand that was empty and yelled at our 8 month pregnant cousin because she thought we were smuggling food as the baby bump which is very real. later on in tye hallway she bothered and made my pregnant cousin feel unsafe by yelling at her for having a water bottle and the employee was also carrying a GUN. I would not recommend this place and the seats don't even recline as much as they should. read more

This theater is fairly new to the area. There are a ton of others you can go to but this one is in between those and have the nicer seats. There haven't been many movie trip visits for me recently but this one was cool to attend. I loved the had that the seats went all the way back and up. The recline was awesome but hopefully, you're seeing a movie you're really interested in or an action movie - don't fall asleep! I only gave the movie theater 4 stars because they should serve adult drinks and bring the food to you. The concession stand lines were not too crazy but they were long ago that I was hoping not to miss any of my movie. I believe they only had pizzas (Pizza Hut pizzas, tho. Yum!) and some brand of hot dogs that wasn't the most memorable. The pizza was really good! Buying tickets was easy. Bought them online and scanned then when we went into the theater. I don't want to sneak liquor into the theater so I hope they start serving wine soon! I'll definitely revisit, though. read more

This is a pretty great place. Lots of great movies are shown here, the seating is very comfortable, the bathrooms are clean, and the staff are friendly. I do have some important feedback however and that's why I'm giving you three stars. I just drove by yesterday and I happened to notice that there is a big piece of art on the outside of the building, and on the piece of art are depictions of people. Every single person in that piece of art is a white person. In this day and age we all know that representation is important. We have a diverse community here in this part of the world and you should have chosen a piece of art that represented the true make up of our community instead of having a piece of art with only white people on it. Great clean sleek theatre. Very clean. I saw toy story 4 in the XD theatre. I registered for the movie club and bought 5 tickets. I saved over 20$. The 20% off concessions was great. The lines where super long. One suggestion is that they should have more things prepared like pizza, hot dogs, etc, so you wont wait forever. The treater was very big, can hold about 200 people the seats where comfortable and i liked the heating element. I wish the leg rest would go out more and the seats recline further. All in all, great addition to watchung. read more

We watched John Wick Parabellum in XD and I don't think I've ever watched anything so clear! The screen was massive, the sound was loud but not defeaning, and the reclining, heated seats were luxurious. As for the concessions, they serve Starbucks and Pizza Hut. What more could you ask for in life?! They just opened like a month ago and it shows. The staff still needs to figure out how to make things run smoothly and efficiently, but in time, I'm sure they'll get it. All in all, very impressed with their XD theater. That alone deserved 5 stars. IMAX may finally have a good competitor. read more

First time going on Saturday and saw Godzilla... it was already out of the XD theatre which was a bummer, but whatever... went to a regular showing and the theatre was wonderful. The seats were huge, reclining and heated (which felt wonderful in an air conditioned theater - it was a heating pad for your lower back). And there were like 6-7 rows with plenty of room to walk thru... Already went a second time today to see Secret Lives of Pets 2.... prices were reasonable and it's really nice to have a theatre nearby! read more
