This location recently open up and it is a pure VIP theatre equipped with Valet parking, a sweet patio, big tv's, and a nice lounge! Best of all...no kids are allowed because it is an Adults Only theatre (that sounded dirty...but it is a fact). If you have not experienced VIP at the movies I suggest you save up your scene points and use them for this theatre. Or you can ball out and spend $24.99 on a movie ticket. The VIP experience is loaded with huge Leather chairs, in seat service, great bar food, and plenty of alcohol to turn a bad movie into a good one. I love this theatre. The only problem is when you order drinks, it doesn't seem like they actually put an ounce of alcohol in it. Even with a double shot it tasted like juice. So I would suggest asking for it on the side. Also their food deal was awesome until they shrank the portions where 2 appetizers fit onto 1 small plate. The service and vibe is great. I pretty much can't go back to the regular theatre after coming to the VIP cinemas. It's just such a nicer experience. Like flying Porter rather than Air Canada. Firstly you pre-book your seats so you don't have to rush to get a good seat. Basically arrive right before and you know exactly where you sit. Bathrooms are really nice and never crowded. The screens are just as big as the other theatres but the seats are so big and comfy and there is so much leg room! My husband and I love their humpdate special for $56. Two movie tickets and two entrees at their restaurant. I feel like that is great value considering each movie ticket is regularly $20. Oh yea, and there are no annoying teenagers because you have to be 19+ to go here. It's just a more refined movie experience. read more

My three star review is for the employee who checked us into the theatre. We went to scope out the venue 1.5 hours before our showtime for Spiderman Homecoming (it was our first VIP experience). She immediately assumed my boyfriend and I were under 19 and said "If you don't have your ID or you're under 19, I will have to refund your tickets" BEFORE we even had IDs in hand. After she found out that we were well over the age limit, her attitude immediately shifted and suddenly treated us like paying, over-aged customers. Poor experience started with the valet parking. I drove in they asked me to remind the car, so I did, then he asked me to back it in which I did, then got out walked over to the front of the theater and then was told I needed to give them my key which I did. And then they told me there was a fee. Mind you, all this what's happening during Saturday's downpour. When we finally got in, the previews it started so they wouldn't take our order but ironically enough they took peoples order at the front and didn't take ours. Had came here not too long after my surgery as they had full recliner seats I could use. Parking is very close to the theatre, and I did find it to be wheelchair friendly. The chairs did not fully recline, which did make it a bit uncomfortable for my ankle. However, for those not in my situation, it is pretty sweet. They came out to take our orders, and it is pricy, but everything at the movies is expensive. I wasn't a big fan of their pierogies, but their jalapeno peppers were pretty delish. Unfortunately they did forget about our churros, and never gave it to us. But with such a late movie, and with my lack of mobility, we didn't bother to complain. However I wrote an email to Cineplex, and they sent me a voucher for a free app. I would try to save up your scene points to get a free ticket, or come in on a Tuesday. This is nice for a good blockbuster hit, but not for your regular movie outings - I mean, unless you're ballin'! read more

My first VIP experience. We bought a pair of tickets in the "fully reclining" theatre. Had a beer and an 80% ice citrus Sangria in the lounge. Went into the theatre and sat down, only to find the seats only reclined part way. Why? The wall behind us, along with a metal bar in front that cuts through the screen if you try to settle in or recline. Do not buy tickets for the back two rows. The seats are made with the same grade of foam throughout, unfortunately this is a lesson that early recliner manufacturers learned not to do. The problem is the part where the bulk of the weight is placed wears down faster than the head rest, resulting in it pushing your neck into an unnatural position. My neck was sore after the first 10 minutes of sitting and in pain by the end of the show. The staff was well trained and friendly, though our servers forgot to ask for our scene card, twice. The food was horrible. I ordered one of my favourite dishes, Asiago Spinach Artichoke Dip. It came with burnt naan, the dregs of an oily bag of nachos (not housemade as claimed just standard restaurant nachos), and instead of a rich, creamy coloured, warm delicious dip... it was a blanch, sour, bordering on spoiled, lump of cold goo. My wife's vegetarian California burger had 1 bite of avocado, a tiny sliver of tomato, and was dry and flavourful as a puck. The brownie explosion, described as "Triple chocolate brownie with walnuts and vanilla bean ice cream drizzled with raspberry and chocolate, topped with real whipped cream" - sounds amazing right? What arrived is hard to describe... two thin layers of a chocolate like substance, a middle white substance that I hope was trying to be white chocolate, covered in chunks of a caramel coloured gelatinous glob of chemical tasting sweeteners and dyes. The overall flavour was strangely coconut and not chocolate. With a tiny tiny scoop of ice cream and a couple tea spoon sized dollops of whip cream on the side. I never could identify anything resembling a nut. Again, served cold right out of the fridge and had the consistency of slightly hardened jello. A $70 + price of admission experience? Not even close. I wouldn't pay cafeteria prices for the slop they served. The only reason it's getting more than 1 star is the staff and drinking beer in a theatre. With the small town sized screen I can get a better experience drinking at home watching the big screen. Summary: Horrible food, uncomfortable chairs, small screen, a complete rip off... but decent staff. read more

The recliner seats are super comfy! Love that we could order food and drinks from our seats directly. Price is a lil expensive for weekends - $24.99 per person. But we only need 1000 scene points to redeem a ticket. We'll go back again soon. read more

I came to watch a long awaited movie on opening weekend, and ordered my tickets online, 4 days in advance. I like that I could reserve our seats, get valet parking ($4), and have dinner and drinks all at the theatre. I also liked that the whole cinema was VIP. Being that it's a licensed establishment the crowd needed to be 19+, so it was nice that it was a kid-free zone. We experienced excellent service the entire time there. The bar had an impressive drink menu and the bar tenders were friendly and fun. We loved that we could enjoy our cocktails in the theatre. We sat in the dining area for dinner. The waitress was attentive and good about getting us our food and bill in time for our movie. The food menu was typical pub fare. I thought prices were reasonable and quality was alright. Washrooms were a little confusing. Washrooms are individual rooms and not stalls. When I got there, there was a lineup of men, which you rarely see. That's because there were 5 ladies washrooms to the left , and 2 men's washrooms to the right. So ladies, move up to the front and stand in line to the left so you can see when stalls become free. We were in theatre 2 which did not have reclining seats. But the seats were really comfortable. Yes, you do pay more at this cinema, but you are paying for the VIP experience. My advice is to (1)buy your tickets online, to reserve good seats and (2)go about 60-75min before showtime to enjoy leisurely drinks and dinner before the show. In our opinion, the experience was totally worth the extra money, and we will be back. read more

The experience is incredible. Leather, recliners, in seat service by wonderful servers and 19+ makes this theatre very enjoyable. It is very difficult to attempt a regular theatre experience after being at the VIP. The chicken quesadillas were better than most I've had in restaurants. The lounge area is very nice as well for pre-movie dinner or drinks. They even have a beautiful, intimate outdoor patio for the warmer days. The food here truly is very good. I also love having a coffee during movies! You have to refer to the theatre when booking online, gif whether reckless are available; otherwise you're still in s great leather seat, just not as laid back in a reclining position. Definitely one of my favourite Shops at Don Mills experiences is heading to this theatre. read more

Went here last week, I had no idea it was VIP. Wicked place, LayZ boy reclining seats, bar service in the cinema!! Can't go wrong with this cinema, the prices and food portions are slightly above average as well. The price of admission for 2 is $40+. Great place! Highly reccomend. read more

On a Tuesday.... hung around on the lounge to watch the raptors game 1st quarter while waiting for my movie. Drinks are reasonably priced. We wanted the entire experience. Valet Parked for $4. Ushered in with an umbrella. Bought our Tickets and after hanging out in the lounge, decided to relieve the anxiety and see what the hype is about. Electronic reclining seats with a handle that goes up...and a tray to rest all your food and drinks... We first ordered the Mac And Cheese Poppers, for the price we paid, it was kind of not worth it. Only 5 pieces of keri cheese sized triangles for $7. Left me craving for more, Thats when i ordered the poutine. Never again will you want popcorn. The biggest portion of Poutine i have ever got. We both got stuffed. The food is high quality. The experience was great. Best part- Its half price on Tuesdays for the movie!!! read more

This might be the shittiest platform I've ever seen try to gauge money out of me. Making me spend money to rent a movie that can't even stream at 500 mB/s and only give the single movie to me for 48 hours while all streaming services will give me unlimited movies for $15-20 a month is embarrassing. I pre-ordered the tickets online (pricing - Tuesdays $14.99, Mondays & Wednesdays - Thursdays $19.99, Fridays - Sundays $24.99). When we arrived, we found that the seats were huge lazy boy type recliners that were quite comfortable. While others raved about the service, I found them to be okay. We waved down one of the waiters and ordered a chipotle club wrap with a caesar salad and chicken fingers with a upgraded poutine, then menu and the prices were reasonable pub pricing. Overall we give this experience a B. The quality of food was better than what I expected and the seats were very comfortable. But still, I am not a fan of clumsily eating in the dark. Tried it out on a Tuesday. Its cheaper and you get 10% off with a SCENE card. Even the food was 10% off! Can't pass on a good deal. Getting there early gives you time to hang out in the lounge. You can order drinks, food or regular movie snacks like popcorn and candy. We got there an hour before the movie started and ordered an artichoke and spinach dip and beer. Weird thing, I've never had Stella in a plastic clear cup. Kinda cheap if you ask me. The dip took long so we asked the server to send it to our seat and we ordered some more food. The leather seats are grouped in pairs with a armrest in between. Quite comfy with ample leg room. This cinema did not have full reclining seats however. Our food came shortly after sitting - California burger and pulled pork sandwich. We found the food to be average, nothing amazing. $2 for upgrade side fries to poutine, which was worth it! The service wasn't as good as I expected. Some other guests were sitting in the lounge and ignored by the group of servers chatting at the bar for a long time. But if you want a movie with comfy seats and more "mature" audience, give this cinema a try. read more

Hubby and I love coming here for date nights without the kids. It is adult only - over 19 since they serve alcohol. Surprisingly the food is pretty good especially for a movie theatre and the VIP experience is much more enjoyable than a regular theatre. A pricey but delightful way to experience the movies. What's not to like? Park for free only a few steps from the front door of this new cinema in the lovely Shops at Don Mills, so that even if it is raining (as it was on my second visit) you get only a few drops on you as you dash across the street. A comfortable bar / lounge awaits you when you arrive, so feel free to arrive early. When you do head in to your reserved seats, it is like you are on a first class flight to London. Comfy! Your own individual table swings in front of you if you want it, or you can use the area to the sides. No crowded theatre here ...everybody has lots of room to get up and move around. An eager young person takes your drink and or food order. The drinks (beer, wine, cocktails ...and soda pop, but why bother?) arrive quickly; the food comes in about the same amount of time that a bar would deliver. And for about the same price as a casual restaurant or bar. Once the show starts, the service ends. The downside? The tickets are up to twice the cost of a regular movie, depending on the day you go. You can't bring your kids (although the first time I went I did bring along my 17 year old and now one said anything ...she didn't drink, of course). And the food was only o.k.. Tonight's experience at Cineplex was by far the worst we have EVER had. So bad, in fact, we never actually got to see the film! Sadly, we never made it past the foyer of the theatre! Our intentions were to see a 6:30pm showing of GONE GIRL. We left our home by 5:30pm, drove 20 minutes to the theatre and stood in line almost 15 minutes to purchase our tickets. When we arrived at the booth, Leana P showed us the screen to view the seat selection. Only 4 seats were left in the theatre - 2 in the very first row and 2 in row I. We chose seats I - 11 & 12, presented our $49.98 payment and suddenly Leana P informed us the seats were no longer available! WHAT??????????? We asked for a manager who promptly told us he couldn't do a thing. He then called an additional manager who also could do nothing for us. All we were told was that the tickets somehow went to two guests at the next register. SERIOUSLY? What was the option given to us? Come back for the 10:30pm showing! Forget it. Sadly, it was too late to get to another Cineplex to see Gone Girl elsewhere for a 7:00pm showing. Instead we drove the 20 minutes back home and watched TV. Only if I really wanted to see a highly anticipated movie ASAP I'll start from the beginning, lined up for about 20 minutes since you get to pick your seat at the theater. There were only two other couples ahead of me however it seem as though the two couples at the counter had a difficult time understanding how to pick a seat- this seemed to be a foreshadowing of things to come. We go up the stairs into the second floor bar/lounge area, I have to say I was impressed with the interior, They have a nice patio overlooking Shop of Don Mills but my friend and I decided to sit at the bar which has several large TV screens. I order a pint and the friend had a mix drink total $18, with tip $20. We sat beside the end close enough to hear the server's talk/ put in orders. WOW- we sat there for about 15 min only to overhear several orders get mixed up with the manager being called multiple times. We take a glance at the menu and it seems ok enough with poutine, burgers, salads, sandwiches. $8-$15 an order. As we head to the theater we see a group of people demanding to speak to a manager (not a good sign) As we walk over to our seats we hear a lady request for another drink because they messed up the order and sure enough the same thing happen to us, we returned the drink only to receive the same drink. Another $20 spent on drinks with tip. In conclusion I am sure that the service and efficiency of this place will change over time however I will not be coming back any time soon. $50 for two tickets and an additional $40 for drinks !! For $90 it is not worth it unless you really want to see a movie that just came out. I would stick to the ticket purchase and have drinks at one of the bars in the area. Pros- Seats are very comfortable/clean You get to pick and reserve your seats Adults only theater Lots of leg room, reclining chairs, and no one can kick the back of your seat Cons- Terrible service (I'm sure will change over time or worsen) Overpriced- I recommend not ordering a mix drink at your seat because it will be waterdown by the time you receive it due to the time it will take to get to your seat. read more

Probably the best VIP theatre I've been to so far. It helps that this theatre was created with the VIP concept in mind. The facilities are well maintained and the private washrooms are a nice touch (albeit inefficient during busy periods). The seats are nice but getting them to recline is difficult. The food is a step up in quality from regular theatre food but still not at restaurant quality (not worth the price premium IMO). There is a large lounge area. Service is quite good and there are plenty of staff to take your order and make sure you get it before the movie starts. Overall a positive experience with some points of improvement to note here and there. read more

My first experience at a VIP cinema was great!! The staff here were super sweet, helpful and attentive!!! The food looked great and portions were fairly large. I only had popcorn which was delicious and the guacamole which was good!! The reason I didn't give it five stars was because the chairs weren't thaaaaaat comfortable. I watch a movie at this location once every week. This theatre is 30-35minutes away from me, but it's always been worth it for a great movie night out experience. Every time you enter your theatre, you browse the menu, the server comes to greet you, you place the order, you receive it in time for the movie, recline back and you're all set for the night. This time I entered the theatre, there were 5-6 'servers' standing in a circle by the doorway with ipads. They socialized up until the announcement came up to notify that the movie is starting and the service has stopped.....what service? What VIP experience? What in-seat food and beverage service? Is there a new rule of raising your hand like you're in a classroom to get service in the VIP theatres now? I was extremely upset because they prominently slacked, socialized and off they went while I was left hungry and thirsty for the next 2 hours. read more

Beautiful cinema! Staff are so so nice and the leather seats are so comfortable! They have menus beside the seats to order drinks or food which is amazing and there's plenty of room.. We actually ate dinner down the road before our movie, so the next time we'll try the food. If you don't know about an iMax experience, read into it. It's worth the money. Worthwhile if your not budget conscious and want to enjoy your movie in comfort and peace. There isn't a mad rush of noisy kids & teens. You get to pre-book your seat--very nice touch. Menu consists of appetizer type foods unfortunately everything is fried including the sandwiches. Would be nice to see some salads and non fried foods added to the menu. Prices were reasonable given the convenience factor. It's important to note that only the chairs in the downstairs theaters fully recline--chairs in the upstairs theaters only tilt back slightly. Love this location. It sits right at the back side of the Shops on Don Mills. You can shop around before or after a movie at some very cool shops just minutes away from the theatre. Very clean and trendy washrooms and nice lounge room. The seatings are super comfortable and very spacious. Quiet environment to enjoy a good movie as no kids are permitted in the area you won't hear screaming or crying in the middle of a movie. Just come and enjoy the show! read more

Total waste of money, and I felt robbed at the end of it. This theatre is for lazy, rich people or dumb first-timers like me. Paying $25 for a movie ticket and not even getting a bag of popcorn is outrageous. The VIP amenities are you get to sit in a leather chair - which you don't even notice after 15 minutes, and they will take your food order from your seat before the movie starts. So if you're incredibly lazy and prefer to have a butler fetch your over-priced concessions - then this is the theatre for you. Otherwise, a total waste of money. Avoid! read more

I have been going to this theatre for years and am disappointed by the customer service received by the manager Linda. We had exchanged tickets over the phone as the employee we spoke to said it was no problem (we never got a name). Received the tickets at the box office and were told again that it was correct. My boyfriend and I proceeded to our seats and ordered our food as usual then was approached by Linda. We were sitting in another couple's seats - long story short, the employee on the phone had accidentally exchanged our tickets for another day which we completely understood. Linda, however, was aggressive towards us from the getgo which was embarrassing as the whole theatre was watching the incident. Instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding from her staff, she kept confronting us on how we got the tickets in the first place and demanded who we spoke to. She gave us options but was very argumentative about it. The way she spoke to my boyfriend and I was unacceptable, especially coming from a manager to the point where I had to ask her to speak outside as the movie was starting and people were still watching us. I asked to be reimbursed for our tickets and food but never received an apology from Linda. read more

Went to see Fifty Shades of Grey with a big group of girls. Before the movie started I had a glass of wine and the Arugula salad in the lounge area and the salad was really good! You can bring your food and drinks into the theatre and can order anything else before the movie starts. It was a fun experience but just a note that I didn't find the chairs that much more comfortable than regular seats! I would go back on Cheapy Tuesday as it gets rather expensive when all is said and done with drinks and snacks! read more

My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed watching 'Mary Poppins Returns' at the new VIP theatre in Pickering. What a wonderful way of spending Boxing Day afternoon, snuggled up together in hugely comfortable side by side recliner chairs with a beer and wine in front of us, along with enjoying very tasty perogie's and marguerita pizza. The food was surprisingly good! The service was excellent and the entire experience was well worth the rather expensive price for a "once in a while treat". The chairs only recline in certain front row seats. This is the reason for my 4 stars. The ones that don't recline really are no more comfortable than any other seat in another Cineplex. However the middle armrest raises, so it's perfect for snuggling to your other half during the movie. Benefits to this location, among many are getting served right at your seat, that's cool. It's fancy, for me not necessary. I can go to the snack bar on my own, and quite honestly that's part of the real movie experience for me. Overall it's a fun place. Nice theatre. Friendly staff. Lounge dining experience was mediocre, as the gentleman serving our area was so focused on proving excellent and attentive service to only ONE other table that he walked by us five times; he even appeared to be purposely looking away when passing our table, which was extremely strange. Hunted down another server in a different end of the lounge, she was very apologetic and very helpful. We finally did order food. The gentleman server continued to very diligently ignore our table. Wonder if he mistook us for someone he didn't like lol. read more
