Excellent ambiance and food. Overall had a great night. I am a bartender so if I can offer any constructive criticism it would be to be mindful when garnishing the cocktails with salt/sugar on the sides of the glass. It does make a visually striking cocktail but it's annoying to get your hands sticky every time you want to pick up your glass. I'm not saying remove it, just to lighten it up or something. The cocktail itself was well balanced and tasty, and as I said they were appealing and done right. I'd give it a 99/100 only because I had to clean my hands every sip lol. We had a 10pm reservation booked via OpenTable but we were a little late. The staff warned us the kitchen would be closing soon but honestly I think I will always book 9:45-10 pm because the restaurant was so nice and calm. We were one of the last tables and I can't wait to go back. The staff were so sweet and fast. They were in a pleasant mood and made suggestions regarding the drinks that were really helpful. The food was amazing. I'm not sure if the crispy tartar rice is the right label because the dish had tuna I believe but either way - amazing. I didn't care for my drink, it was good I just didn't feel like drinking & our waitress replaced it with a coke. My shrimp tempura roll was perfect and so were the beef and broccoli, vegetable dumplings and general tsos chicken. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the music was kept at a really considerate level we didn't have to yell. I really enjoyed my experience and plan to return soon. read more

Amazing ambiance, the ceilings are super tall which is always great. Personally love the fact that's the menu is favored towards authentic Chinese cuisine. Everything is done really well. The dice mala chicken with chili is something i always order at every place that has it on the menu and this place definitely tops it. It's a must order. This place looked promising from the reviews and the environments esthetic when first walking in. The waiter was far from attentive or Competent at that. We finally received our drinks after 25-30 minutes of ordering and the waiter spilled them all over the table (which mistakes happen). But after that, we didn't receive our drinks until we were almost done with our meals 55 minutes later... the waiter did not even come over again to make sure we were okay or if the drinks had come out. Other than that the food was mediocre for the price and our entree came out before our appetizers! Needless to say I will not be recommending this place to others lol read more

Visited Cinnabar last night for the first time! We enjoyed our meals for the most part. I'd say the food was pretty good it wasn't absolutely excellent but it wasn't bad. Service was pretty decent. We sat at the bar since we didn't have a reservation and the bar tenders were sociable, funny, and attentive. Because we sat at the bar we didn't get to see what the rest of the restaurant looked like but it did have a nice vibe. And the music wasn't overwhelmingly loud so that was a bonus! Our only qualm was that a lot of items were unavailable which wasn't not disclosed to us upon ordering so my partners meal has substituted items which were just brought out without question or without even asking if it was something he'd prefer. Outside of that our time there was pretty decent and I'd be willing to go back. I really love Chinese food, sushi, etc and up until now I had a few "go to" spots because each of them excelled in making different certain dishes that I enjoy... Cinnabar has my favorite fried rice hands down. The tangerine ribs are delicious and the szechuan pork wantons were amazing as well. The next time I tried the rock shrimp tempura and the tar tar crispy rice, loved both. The only dish I wasn't crazy about was the mala diced chicken as it seemed very dry, but as it was my first time trying this dish maybe it's always that way... everything else has been perfection. This place has a lovely atmosphere and nice relaxing music. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the dragon roll, the cumin lamb chops (spicy), the bok choy, and the sea scallops. The desert is now one of my favorite desserts. Food was fresh, hot, and received quickly. We had a little delay in getting a server and putting our order in, but they identified the problem, and fixed it right away with complementary items. I appreciate my server Joseph. He was wonderful. Lovely ambiance. Definitely try the shrimp pops and sushi platter. We have been there several times and everything is delicious. The General Tso's chicken is slightly spicy and juicy. The dim sum sampler is a great introduction to figuring out what you like. The fried rice with bone marrow was definitely something unique to try. I had the dim sum appetizer special combination. It's not only beautiful, but tasted great, & sushi so fresh. The food here was subpar at best. While the music was the great, the sushi was disappointing. What made the situation worse was that there was water everywhere!!! I walked in and felt like I stepped in an ocean. Water was in the front near the bar and in the bathroom. It was very unsafe, and they should have closed that day. Between the service, food, ambience, and location I can't rate this place high enough. So good I had to come back the following week. The staff was friendly and service was great. I got recommendations on what to order when I was unsure and everything hit the spot. The cocktails are all amazing but I recommend their spicy marg. A wonderful experience combined with great dining music will 100% be the recipe for a great evening. Parking is easy, I can't say one bad thing about this place. We sat down for 15 minutes and not once were we greeted or even signaled a gesture of hello. Nor did we even get we will be right with you nothing. I'm extremely dissatisfied because I was excited to try this new place out. The menus were also very dirty and had food stains on it. Spot On! Found this hidden gem last evening and it was actually Grand Opening. I grew up in Massapequa so had to check out this new Asian restaurant since we had mostly takeout American Chinese back then! I was amazed at everything about this Modern Asian establishment serving both fusion Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Also the decor is very trendy and hip so great place for taking a date, celebrations and mingling with friends! Service was superb even know it was first day open to the public especially friendliness and very helpful with suggestions for our desired palettes. I will definitely recommend giving Cinnabar a visit and you also will be back for many more visits. read more

We should have known when we arrived at the front door and it was locked!! And it was in the middle of their open hours!! We went here for the first time yesterday, after seeing the positive reviews here. Sorry but we don't agree. First problem we encountered is I ordered a bowl of soup and the bowl looked more like a tea cup and 1 piece of small fish and 1 piece of chicken and it was $12!! Second I ordered soup dumplings and the order was only 4 pieces for $10. I get soup dumplings alot at other chinese restaurants and the smallest order is 6 pieces and costs less than $10. I ordered a coca-cola and it came in a small glass (no can) with no ice!! The entre was "family style" but the portion was only enough for one!! WE ordered sweet and sour pork and the pork was ground meat meatballs with more fruit (pineapple, baby tomatoes) than mean!! On a positive note, the staff was great, We were greeted very nicely by Jasmine and our server and Alex were very pleasant. We will not return. read more

Went there 3 months ago because of all the reviews. I really don't know where these reviews came from. The service was horrible. The waiter forgot to put our order in, so we had to flag down another waiter (ours disappeared). Finally got our food. Our food was so dried out, we couldn't even eat it. When we told the staff, they said it was a really tough night. They didn't even offer any kind of discount. However our MIA waiter showed up to drop off the check!! No explanation or apology.
