Rare gem of a location, not hidden at all, but should get more attention for the quality, freshness and exquisite food art display of their specialty sushi rolls. A bit surprised to walk in on Tuesday night to see the restaurant sparsely empty. Thinking and hoping maybe it was just because of freezing outdoor temperatures keeping folks home. Although highly recommending to venture out and allow the warmth of this cozy dining room of this location to wrap you warm inside and out. The service from all hostess, waitress, chefs in kitchen and at sushi bar super kind, patient and helpful, from start to finish of our wonderful meal. For the visit the Mr and I ordered tea to warm us back up right away. Ordered their Scallion pancake appetizer because it's always a solid choice just about anywhere you go, here included. They came out warm, crispy exterior with soft moist interior, accompanied by a sweet dumpling sauce. The kitchen chef was even so kind to bring us a complimentary small dish of edamame to munch on while we waited for him to whip up the Scallion Pancakes ~ Thanks! Then came the hot wonton soup that my Mr ordered and so nicely shared with me. Thankful he did as he knows his Mrs was eyeballing it contemplating if it was going to take me over the top. Let's just say the softest, silkyist, freshest flavored pork wontons we have had. Followed this up with Butterfly and CEO rolls that were absolutely fresh and delicious. The food and the service was really good. The menu had a lot of options. The ambience wasn't overwhelming.

A fairly cute spot that's much bigger on the inside than on the outside! There's a parking lot right next to the restaurant for patrons. The menu is pretty expansive and they have a great selection. We did the lunch special and got three rolls, all of which were standard but good. Our waitress was very kind and attentive and popped by to check on us a few times. At my last visit I had the yellowtail with jalapeno that was absolutely delicious.wifey ordered the sunshine Roll that had a sauce on it that was a little bit to spicy for her but they replaced it with one with a different sauce no problem and she really enjoyed it. I will never order from Roppongi Sushi in Amityville again. Last night, they delivered only part of our order and completely forgot a full order of Lo Mein. When I called to let them know, they assured me someone would bring it over--but after 30 minutes, I had to call back, only to be told I needed to pick it up myself. I explained I had kids at home and couldn't leave, but the person on the phone blamed the Uber driver and refused to take responsibility. One of my son's friends didn't get his dinner, and when I asked for a credit for the missing item, they refused and just kept telling me to come get it. I eventually had to order from another restaurant. On top of that, they almost never include chopsticks, which has happened multiple times. Terrible service--I do not recommend ordering from this place. read more

Love good sushi. This place knows how to make great Japanese food whether you're in the mood for something hot like Korean barbecue spareribs or some raw fish with some spicy tuna crunch rolls. I have ordered here several times and the food has never disappointed me. The restaurant has even called me to confirm certain things when I've ordered through third-party delivery services which I thought was very nice and important to make sure that my food was perfect. I have sushi all the time and was very disappointed in the quality of food I received from here. The rolls were not good, neither was the seaweed salad. The only thing I enjoyed was the soda, which exploded all over when I opened it. I ordered through DoorDash so I won't hold Roppongi accountable for the soda incident. I got an eel cucumber roll with tobiko added. There was only a tiny bit of tobiko which I paid an extra dollar for (not worth a dollar). The cucumber in it was so soggy and watery that it ruined the roll. The oyster roll was very sweet which was weird. The spicy yellowtail with tempura wasn't as bad, but it seriously lacked flavor. I didn't hate the seaweed salad, but it wasn't the best either. I get sushi very often and I'm sad to say this was one worst experience I've had, based solely on the taste of the food. I almost hesitate to post this because it is not a great review, but I would have liked to read this before wasting my money on it. Maybe I'll try again another time, but probably not. Good luck to anyone else though. I included a pic of when I put it on a plate. Looks very good, but looks can be deceiving.. Probably more like 2.5 stars but i'll round up since they were quite friendly. Wifey and I did takeout from Roppongi a few days ago and I'd put the sushi as 3 stars but the hibachi more like 2. Rolls were adequately filled and fish was fresh tasting but what they called a kani salad was essentially a pile of tempura flakes with a small helping of crab and cucumber acting as a needle in this rather dry haystack. Disappointing way to start the meal for sure. Hibachi was incredibly underwhelming from start to finish. Very little flavor to be found anywhere, no dipping sauces either - didn't hold a candle to places like Sasa where we usually go. Will probably head back over there for much better quality items. read more

This is probably the sixth time we've ordered from here off of Uber eats, everything was great & we thought it would be our new spot until ordering today during lunch to reheat for dinner. While eating my fried rice I crunched on something when nothing should have been crunchy at all. I look down to see this big disgusting bug in my food and realized that crunch was probably his leg and wing and I have never felt so sick to my stomach from a meal in my entire life. Safe to say we will never be eating from here again and they deserve zero stars because this is a major food safety and cleanliness issue. They started with a complimentary shrimp wrapped in bacon appetizer which was delish. We ordered raw oysters as an appetizer. They were fresh and yummy! Served with a brown sauce and topped with scallions. We then ordered the smile roll to share. I ordered the 007 and the undersea roll. The rolls were definitely fresh. My husband ordered the million dollar roll and the sexy girl roll. They had a happy hour also. Buy one drink get one free. I had the Roppongi kiss martini and my husband had the long Island iced tea. Both were strong. They honored a 20% coupon which was applied to the food which was a bonus. I'll be back again to try other rolls. read more

I was happy because they had sapporo black and I love dark beer. The 2 shots of saki I had were nice too. I didn't have sushi because carbs are the devil for me. I'm struggling a tiny bit with my weight as it is right now, just looking at rice adds a few ounces to a pound. I had the teriyaki salmon with boiled vegetables and it came with a salad with ginger dressing. My fiancé and I placed the order, saved $10, and were happy to see the delivery time to only be in half an hour! Our stomachs rumbled with excitement. Eventually the confusion was rectified and we were able to take our food inside. As for the food, everything was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. I ordered the spicy scallop hand roll with added avocado and it was one of the best and certainly most affordable ones I've ever had. The scallop sushi was massive and tasted of the ocean. Customer service was lacking. I'm not sure if it was a language barrier but the price was not what was stated on the phone. There is a big difference between $25 and $ 40 something. I ordered from this Asian fusion restaurant with an Uber Eats promotion for 50% off. The food was good, however, the Pad Thai had NO description. As with all Asian food, different restaurants can prepare it differently. So I didn't know what ingredients to exclude on my online order. It was filled with peppers, zucchini, and a yellow vegetable (squash?). I can't have peppers and I didn't like the others (I'm not a big veggie eater) so I had to remove them all. In fact, I DID say "no onions" (because I can't have them either) and it was also filled with onions. Very good sushi. So we were in the area looking to eat some sushi and I found this little gem on my Yelp widget on the phone - so in we went. Top notch from start to finish. We had a variety of rolls and some gyoza and all were just too damn good - and I felt they were of a really good size since I couldn't finish them and I almost ALWAYS finish the rolls off... Prices were very good for the basic rolls and average for the specialty rolls- and everything was just perfectly fresh.
