Even before I got to Atlanta I was starting to here so much chatter about this Restaurant and how Good it was so I had to check it out again. I feel like the first time is better than the second time though. I'm not saying that they fell off their game. This place is D-E-LICIOUS! It's near the Target plaza on Edgewood. You can walk from there, park on the street or parking lot less than 60 seconds walking distance away. I came across Cinnaholic on the Atlanta Eats TV show and boyyyyy I will tell you this place will cure any sweet craving you may have. I entered through the back entrance and as soon as you open the door you are immediately hit with the smell of cinnamon!! I think I fell in love. There were so many different combinations you can put on your cinnamon roll. I went with the Apple Pecan Pie roll. This was absolutely delicious. I'm going mostly vegan (when I'm out or at family/friends' homes I want to be flexible because I don't like inconveniencing people). Anyway, when I first heard about this place I was confused about how cinnamon rolls could be delicious and vegan (this was a few years ago, and I was super-skeptical about vegan food). The answer is it's super easy, apparently, or at least they make it look easy. I got a deal so that meant I had $10 to spend. In the name of science and yelp, I got two cinnamon rolls, one with the original frosting and one with almond frosting (both without toppings because that just feels unnecessary to me). Within an hour I ate the almond one, and it was delicious, like I scarfed the entire thing down when I didn't mean to. I was curious, though, how they'd be 24 hours later, so I put away the original and had it just now. Definitely better immediately, but it was still very good a day later. Just know that, like with most foods, it's best when it's fresh! I've always said vegan desserts are the best vegan food, and this is proof. The cinnamon buns are delicious, but what really makes it great is the long list of icing flavors. A coworker had mentioned them to me, and told me about the Groupon. We purchased the variety pack for $8. It's an awesome value and includes: 2 buns (one frosting, one topping each) a cookie, and a brownie. (Groupon doesn't tell you that for some reason!) FIRST OF ALL, THIS PLACE IS GOOD AF. The buns are warm and soft and fluffy. They have helllllllaaaa topping/frosting choices (and they let you sample if you're indecisive). The possibilities are endless. I'm not even gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical because the shop is vegan, and most of the vegan sweets I've tried have been trash. But this is so gooood. SO GOOD. I stumbled upon Cinnaholic with my friend a month ago. To be clear, I am not a vegan, but it's great that they have this place because there are few options for those with a very restrictive diet. So I was kind of excited. We walked in the front entrance and the sweet-baked smell hits you. Keep in mind that the Atlanta location is small with little indoor or outdoor seating. This is not your typical cinnamon bun store. Each bun is made to order. I was overwhelmed at first when we saw the large menu. They have at least 24 different frostings like chai tea, butter pecan, caramel, and raspberry. Then there are 21 toppings to choose from, like strawberry, blueberry, cookie dough, brownie bits, and walnuts. I also learned they used beet sugar instead of regular sugar because it's never processed with bone char. Ross, the manager on site, directed us to a display of top sellers on the front of the register. The buns had catchy names like "peanut butter and jealous," which consisted of peanut butter frosting and fresh strawberries. The "gimme s'more" consisted of marshmallow frosting topped with graham crackers and more marshmallows. We eventually decided on one called "show me the dough." This cinnamon bun was topped with vanilla frosting with vegan cookie dough, along with vegan-free chocolate chips that are also cholesterol free. When it came out, we saw a generous bun sized for two. After eating, I was surprised that we did not feel heavy or tired. In addition to the buns, I sampled their vegan brownies and cookies. One word: amazing! You could not tell the difference in taste from a non-vegan pastry. The verdict: Cinnaholic was fanstastic!!. And as a non-vegan, the best part, of course, is that you cannot tell that the buns, cookies, and brownies are all 100% vegan. read more
