Until 3 days after we pulled from the lot "sold as is" and we were over come with the awful stench of DOG URINE . We put the inside under a black light after dark and it looks like several dogs pissed every where inside the van. We wanted to have the van property cleaned and detailed, but we had (3) quotes with the cost to do it right at $1,500 and the detailers stated that they must remove the carpet from the van to get all the bacteria out of the carpet and the floor under the carpeting, and that they need the car for 48 hours to do it properly and ensure they get the stink out permanently. We called Merchants Manager of Internet sales and their Service Mgr, and we walked thru the 3 quotes with them to see if they would even consider splitting the cost. They refused but did agree to clean it, but they did not do it properly, they had the car for 12 hours. When the wife goes to pick it up she is sold a load of BS from the Service Manager. The stench is back now that the car is sitting in the sun, and Merchants is not returning the wife's phone calls. We are just at the beginning of a one man and woman very public campaign of transparency and how they hid this condition from us. The beauty of our campaign for Merchants transparency is not going to cost us a cent, and yet Merchants will never be able to quantify how many used car sales they may have lost out on. The first accident was related to a bear running into the road and totally damaging the side of my car, the whole process of getting it towed and getting my rental was seamless! Auto Re-Nu-It estimated the amount of time it would take and they stuck to that time period. When I had to deal with another shop in the past they kept extending the amount of time they needed to keep the car and it was a nightmare. I could go on and on about this shop, but just know you are in good hands. They work with multiple insurances, as I've had to use my insurance and then another persons when they damaged my car and there was no issue either time. They set up my rental for me so that it would be at the shop at the time of my arrival. They communicate effectively and honestly. No one enjoys having to bring there car to an auto body shop but if you have to this is the place to go!

There were no proactive updates at any point. I had to call repeatedly just to get basic information about my own vehicle. Every step dragged on far longer than it should have, and there was never a clear timeline, explanation, or sense of urgency. On top of the delays, I ended up having to coordinate communication between this shop, another shop, and my insurance company myself just to keep the repair moving. They seemed completely uninterested in managing the process or taking responsibility. I've never seen a shop put so little effort into keeping a customer informed. When the car was finally ready after almost eight weeks, I was told I needed to pay a 3% fee just to use my debit card -- as if the massive delay, lack of communication, and disrespect weren't enough of an inconvenience already. In short: Two months without my vehicle No updates unless I called Constant runaround Poor coordination with insurance and the sublet shop Unhelpful and inflexible payment process The repairs may be complete (nearly all repairs were outsourced to another shop!), but the customer experience was terrible. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that values your time and money, communicates clearly, and takes their work seriously.
