When I entered and informed a young female employee named Joycelyn (or Jocelyn) that I was there to pick up an order, she responded with clear nonchalance and dismissiveness, telling me, "You can wait on line with the rest of the people waiting." Immediately after, she and another employee began laughing. I also heard her mumble under her breath to her coworker, "what the f***." This behavior was shocking and completely inconsistent with the standard of friendliness and respect that Chick-fil-A is known for. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was observing her treat another Spanish-speaking customer immediately after me with noticeably more care, patience, and consideration. As a Black man, this interaction was surprising and disappointing. Regardless of intent, the lack of professionalism and respect was unacceptable. I hope management takes this seriously and provides additional training, because this experience does not reflect the brand values Chick-fil-A promotes.
