Finally tried Cisu Vegan House after all the rave reviews and I can tell it will earn a place on my Top 10 list by the end of the year. I ordered the following items on Uber Eats: - Curry Puffs - Vegan Nuggets - Salt & Pepper Tofu - Black Pepper Ban Mein w/ Thick Noodles The portion sizes for the main dishes (Salt & Pepper Tofu and Ban Mein) were generous, about 2-3 servings and shareable. Which is pretty amazing considering the Ban Mein was $10 (on Uber Eats). I made sure to try a mix of dishes that both featured and didn't include meat substitutes...I was WOW'd by all of the food! As a meat eater, the vegan beef in the Ban Mein was very well seasoned and the flavor indiscernible from real meat. I was especially shocked by how much I enjoyed the vegan nuggets. They had a slightly nutty flavor (likely due to the oil) and a great texture. The salt & pepper tofu and curry puffs were standard, but good. Overall, the food at this restaurant runs a little spicier than usual American Chinese spots. Flavors like curry and five spice came through more, and two of the dishes I ordered used fresh peppers (instead of just pepper flakes). I loved it and will be ordering again! read more

No onion no garlic restaurant....always a stop from a trip up north . I ordered these dishes recently; C4 Mapo Tofu - best vegetarian mapo tofu in all dmv vegetarian restos C5 Salt and Pepper Tofu - best dish for the fried at heart peeps. You have to spread the toppings so when you bite into the tofu, there is some flavor. best eaten once the dish comes out of the kitchen S5 Taro balls - breaded mashed taro needs the sauce that comes with it. Taro is a root often used in Chinese dishes and a healthy carb. Fried may be a different matter so that should balance out lol S9 Fried Wonton - not bad but all carbs; ratio of filling to wrap is 1:6,. While I liked it I wish there were more filling S13 Curry Puff - curried mashed potato in pastry. I like the taste and pastry, though the mouth feel is a bit weird. Better if potatoes were diced then it's similar to a samosa. Have ordered Thai green curry in the past and I love that. Green beans are good as well. Every thing is served in take out boxes and they have seating if you want to eat there. While I'm not a fan of that they use paper containers and most likely compostable and I probably should find out. Happy we have this restaurant in the DMV. read more

I just revisited the place after seeing another review.... The service was efficient & the staff was extremely friendly. Presents like a typical carry out, but I like the concept with the little convenience area and I noticed an area in the back to play games, which I thought was nice. Honestly, I forgot to post the review when we picked up dinner here some time ago. I really needed to try them again. On our first visit we had the baby bok choy, Singapore noodles, the crispy eggplant, Kung Pao and curry puffs, I believe. This time I ordered the salt & pepper tofu (10/10), the bok choy (7/10) and the crispy eggplant (9/10). Now to be very honest these dishes would have been even better if we had eaten there,because the fried items would've retained their crispiness, but everything was still good. I've been thinking about the salt & pepper tofu. May even grab it again this week. It was just that good. I definitely recommend you try this place if ever in the area... I've passed by this place so many times but only finally got to try it the other day! When you walk in, it's a small unassuming restaurant with some tables but mainly monitors where you can order your food to go. There's a shelf with a few vegan snacks, condiments, mock meats, etc to peruse through while waiting for your meal. I was so happy to see they had boba without milk! I usually order boba with milk alternatives since I'm lactose intolerant so this was great to see. I would definitely come back for this esp the boba was only $5 - a steal fr. I got the mango while my partner got the taro one. Not too sweet & the boba was chewy. As for the food, I got the kung pao chicken & coconut puffs. I like the sauce that went with the coconut puffs, it reminded me of Malaysian food. As for the main, it was ok, I got two portions out of the $15 meal but it wasn't my favorite. But I plan come back & try more of the menu! Also saw they had a buffet option every now & then so fun! This is a nice, bright and understated restaurant, with tasty entrees. There is space to line up to place your order, however using tech was what we chose. It was easy to place the order, choose a table and chat while food is prepared. The food was brought to our table. I ordered General Tso's 'Chicken' and it was really good: both sweet and spicy. I also ordered pineapple fried rice and would say that it wasn't as salty as I'm used to. Also, I would have loved more pieces of pineapple. Great find! Unassuming strip mall food place with clean tables and large veggie menu. Noodles, Asian, and some great appetizers-all vegetarian. I had no clue when income In and the cashier was happy to help and make recommendations. I got a bunch of appetizers. The wonton were excellent. Filling was limited but bursting with flavor. Coconut puffs were basic with thick brown sauce that is addictive. Korean crispy beef were thick coin medallions that tasted like breaded beef. The food is unique and special. The staff is very kind and helpful. They occasionally host an all-you-can-eat buffet. Even the meat-eaters I have taken here were pleasantly surprised by how good all the food is. There is a variety of Asian style dishes. I recommend the vegan beef as well as the vegan shrimp. My favorite is the pineapple fried rice with vegan beef. Their noodles are also delicious. There are a variety of Boba, canned drinks, vegan jerky/snacks, and packs of vegan dehydrated meats at the front. They don't use any onion or garlic, just hing. read more

What a hidden gem! As a vegetarian, I loved this place because I had so many options with what to eat. I was overwhelmed by the options, and decided to get the kung pao tofu. I appreciated that they came out quickly with my food! I was shocked with how perfectly crispy the tofu was, it made me keep munching on it. There was plenty of table space. The vegetarian meat is actually quite good. I felt it had texture was similar and I didn't miss the meat that much. However, the portion sizes were really small. For example, the wonton appetizer was very small portion size. The wontons were like 1/2 the size of a typical wonton, and wontons aren't that big to begin with. The mei fun was actually quite tasty and had good smokey flavor. But again, the portion size was small. Ambiance was pretty average. It's clean and very bare bones, but i don't mind that. read more

Yayyyyyy for the new Vegan restaurant. The food is flavorful. I definitely enjoyed all my purchases. I noticed they have a lot of healthy vegan snacks right at checkout. I pre ordered my food online. The staff is friendly, but the last two times we ordered takeout, there was hair in the food (which was surprising because the restaurant looks clean inside). What a lovely hidden gem! My husband is currently doing a mostly vegan diet and found this little spot and wanted to try it. The inside is pretty simple and unassuming: you order your food at the kiosk and can take out or sit at one of the tables. We dined in. Customer service was pretty friendly. We ordered the coconut fritters and spicy wontons for apps, and both were delicious. The seaweed salad tasted as expected. For entrees, we ordered the kung pao beef and shrimp lo mein. The kung pao beef was so delicious. Idk what the "beef" was made of -- mushrooms or a tofu/soy mix of something maybe? But it was so good you didn't even really miss the real beef. The only thing that was just OK to me was the "shrimp" from the lo mein. I think I'll stick to regular seafood shrimp, ha. But the lo mein noodles were good. My Thai iced tea was also tasty. Cisu is awesome! I love that they offer Asian vegan dishes, some of which I've never heard of, and some that feel close to home. Their set up is takeout style, but if you want to eat there, it's very clean and they bring your food to you. When waiting for your food, you can hear them freshly making it in the kitchen, and the food comes out piping hot. I'm not vegan, but I love trying vegan cuisine. I've only been here twice, but I have to say that their Cisu Signature Bowl is the BEST thing on the menu. The broth is so rich and flavorful; the thick noodles have a great texture, slightly chewy; the mushrooms are little flavors bombs and one of the best parts of the dish. It seems like this dish is mimicking either beef stew or taiwanese beef noodle soup, and it does a good job. The texture and taste of the imitation beef is typical of a soy based imitation meat, so it's just ok, but everything else in the dish shines. I would come here again and again for this bowl of noodle soup. I've also tried a couple other dishes: - Buddha Bowl: it's a solid noodle soup dish. The mushrooms are also really flavorful in this dish. It includes some imitation fish balls which are good. The broth is simple and doesn't have too much going on. - vegan nuggets: these were pretty good. Super crispy on the outside and has a fluffy/stringy texture on the inside. - hot and crispy eggplant: it's true to its name as it's hot and crispy. But the sauce is a little too sweet for me. The breading is fluffy and it's super thick, and the inside is soft how you would eggspect eggplant to be (ba dum tsss). If you've ever had asian fried bananas, it tastes similar to that. For me, it was a little hard to finish these because there was a lot of batter around the eggplant and the sauce was too sweet. These would be good as an appetizer, but I wouldn't be able to eat it as a whole dish. I'm excited to come back and explore more of their menu (but I'm afraid nothing can beat the signature bowl!). I wish there were more restaurants like these everywhere. read more

The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. My husband and kids did not even know they were eating a vegan meal. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. You can order at the register or on a kiosk that has tones of pictures. The staff was also helpful if you had any questions. Located in Ridgeview Plaza by the Food Lion on 175 this spot is very bright and clean. The staff are so nice and helpful. The menu is great with a mix of vegan "meats", tofu, and vegetables to pick from. I got the Kung Pao Tofu. It was so delicious and flavorful. And there was a ton of it. I ate it for three meals. My picky meat eating husband was really happy with his pineapple fried rice and spring rolls. The prices were great as well. Cisu is definitely going into regular rotation. read more
