Plan ahead and arrive early, it sounded like they took reservations for large parties if you called ahead. We went in tonight (Friday night) arrived at about 6:15. We were quoted a 45 minute wait time, which made sense with how packed it looked at the large bar and the waiting area. We were sat before 6:50. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and I could tell she had a lot of tables but she was a pro. The food came out impressively fast and was just as described on the menu. The citizens chicken with jalapeño cream corn was absolutely amazing. The Caesar side salad was perfect and came before the main course. The wine and beer list was extensive. It wasn't too loud there at all. It was very crowded but I completely understand why and would recommend this place highly. Citizens grill has been one of my "Go-To" places when I have friends or family in town. I have yet to be disappointed with their food. My favorite drink is definitely their old fashioned, but if you are the whiskey/bourbon type then have no fear! They offer an array of tasty beverages including beer, wine, and many many different cocktails! If you like scallops then the Smoked scallop and mushroom risotto is a MUST TRY!!! read more

We went to Citizens Grill for my birthday lunch after seeing the great reviews, here, on Yelp. I'm so glad we did. Our server, Brianna took excellent care of us with fast and friendly service. The food was exceptional. Especially, considering the modest price point. I ordered the blackened jumbo shrimp with asparagus (that were huge!) and a side salad. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both meals were absolutely perfect. The food is great. Fresh quality product. Our visit started off very nice with a great greet from the host and quick visit from our server for a drink order. After that service suffered and was too slow for our liking. It seemed there were two managers on duty. One in jeans who seemed to always be working and another in gray slacks trying very hard to make the guest in the establishment invisible. Our server got lost after taking our drink order for about ten minutes. Our food came out quickly but the check back took too long. Heard nice things about this place. Lunchtime I was greeted with a bold "how are you" and the dreaded "What can I help you with?" (Um, table for one.) I learned there is outside seating, but it's also more quiet in the posh lounge. I was seated midway in front of the doorway, convenient to the clean restroom. There are three different menus, but no lunch menu. Mistaken as an applicant, I finally made eye contact with the bartender. She said the vegetarian fettuccine was very good and it came exactly as I ordered, delivered by a charming and accommodating server who redeemed everyone and added stars. I was asked if I needed anything, but I wished I knew there was no spoon in the silverware in the napkin. The pasta was cooked perfectly and there was more than enough sauce on it. I was happy that it was not too salty. The garlic bread tasted perfect and presented nicely, and if it came with italian bread instead of square white it would have topped it. Yes, the spoon and bread will put them a notch above, not the quality place setting. I think here you pay for atmosphere; I imagine for dinner it is quite romantic. Went to citizens group on a Saturday afternoon. I saw the decent reviews and thought it would be a good place to try since I was in the area. I ordered the artichoke dip for an appetizer. Although it was good, it was different from what you normally see for artichoke dip. It was loaded with melted cheese, so if don't order it if you aren't wanting a super-heavy dose of cheese. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and crab redfish. It was a good choice as it was prepared well and tasted great. My wife was craving a Reuben sandwich, and so she jumped at the opportunity to order that. It was decent, but not special. For sides we had the green beans, grilled asparagus, and jalapeño creamed corn. The beans were ok, but the asparagus was excellent. Although the jalapeño cream corn sounded unique and appetizing, it was a little bland and boring. I should have picked something else. For dessert we split a bread pudding - great choice. I should have ordered a second bread pudding to take home for later. read more

Decided to try this place on a Friday afternoon. Seated quickly, waitress in training supposed to wait our table. She brought our drinks & menus, then didn't return. We ordered lobster pasta and Atlantic cod. The cod was amazing! Flaky, light crust and homemade tarter sauce was delicious. Our two sides- jalapeño corn & rice pilaf. The rice was flavorful, but there was no spice to the corn. The lobster pasta was just a pasta dish, with a fishy taste. All of the food was lukewarm when we got it. By the time we left, we had 4 people wait on us. The restaurant was not busy, in our opinion. We had to walk up to the bar and ask for the check and a to-go box. We will try Citizens again- lots of gluten free options and other menu items to try. Hopefully we will have better service and hot food next time. read more

My husband and I went here due to the great reviews. First, the good stuff. Hostess was pleasant and seated right away. Service was attentive throughout. Although the servers did not have masks on. I ordered the scallops special with risotto and my husband got a steak. The food came out way too fast to be freshly prepared. Scallops were cooked well, but had a tough piece on the side on a few of them. risotto was slightly overcooked and gummy. My husbands steak had fake grill marks and tasted like it had been frozen. I had a cocktail and my husband had a beer. Total bill was $66 not including tip. Overall mixed review and for the price, we will probably not be going back. I would recommend Republic Grill instead. read more

Great Restaurant! Great food and service! I frequent restaurant because that is the case and also because their patio is pet friendly and sometimes we like to bring our dog with us. Tonight was an exception! Same great food and service until I complained about the charges on my beverage being not what I'm usually charged during happy hour! Long story short. My waiter said it was because I changed the flavor of the vodka! same vodka different flavor. I ordered many times in the past and no change in charge. He offered the manager who acted like he was doing me a favor by charging me the CORRECT price! then when the waiter brought the new check to the table he was very rude! There are many restaurants that have good food and are pet friendly! I don't have to come here for dinner!!! It is very upsetting to be treated this way because we really like this place! read more

Edit: We went back the next night and service was top notch! SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!!! We sat at our table & waited and waited for someone to greet our table. The server finally came and took our drink orders and was literally walking away from our table as I tried to order an appetizer (a huge pet peeve of mine). When our appetizer arrived, we had no small plates, silverware, or napkins. We waited to ask for some, but there were no servers around. Finally, my husband got up to get the silverware on his own. Our server never came to take our order. We had to find her and ask her to come to our table so we could place it. When we ran out of drinks, we had to get up from our table to ask for refills (this was the 3rd time we needed to get out of our seat), when we needed a box we had to get up to ask for one (number four), and when we needed our check we had to get up again (number 5). No one checked on us the entire time we had our food to ask if everything was okay or to give us drink refills. It was the worst service we've had in a long time!!!! Awful! On the upside, the food was FABULOUS! Not a single complaint about it. It was served at the perfect temperature and was delicious. read more

If you like bland food , a weird , inconsistent menu that blends tavern food with boring chains , and a staff that appears to have been hired straight out of a Texas ice house bar , you'll like. Citizens Grill on 1488. 11.12.2020 - my wife and her best friend waited an hour for their lunch only to be told that their order had been lost. During that time that had a bottle of wine while waiting and her friend was stung by a bee. Manager never came around and apparently the waiter fell asleep after taking their order to not realize they'de not received their food. They complained and after a two hour wait / lunch, they only took off $10 a $100 tab. Worst service EVER. We've enjoyed service and food in the past, but they don't apparently appreciate the little bit of revenue from their lunch patrons. Guess they must not need our future business! read more

We ordered take out from citizens tonight first time eating here. We requested to have our food packaged in separate containers because we didn't want food to get soggy. So impressed!
