The owners are so sweet and friendly! I had a garlic bagel with scallion cream cheese and one with butter. Both were filled and the bagels tasted freshly made. I was given a chocolate chip bagel to try as well which was very kind of them and it was also good, the bagel was soft and again tasted freshly made. A true 5 star experience! Ordered catering from Edward for a big group order and he did not disappoint! The bagels were laid out beautifully and sliced. The cream cheese varieties are awesome! And as promised, the tuna salad was really delicious. He had an employee help bring it out to the car and was so professional and friendly. Really a 3.5 but rounding it up as they are super nice there. We came for a simple order. Few bagels with butter or cream cheese. They messed up one of the orders and replaced it right away and let us keep the incorrect one. Prices are normal for the area. Overall a solid bagel place. read more

City Bagel has the freshest bagels! They know my order when I get there. The only place to get them in Flemington.

I got a sausage and cheese, I said no egg but got egg. Everything on the bagel was tasteless, watery, and gross. We also got an everything bagel with cream cheese which was meh. Nothing too bad, nothing great. I also was in line for 30 minutes while they took everybody who walked in, but not me who was waiting there. I will not be returning. read more

I can't even explain how much this place was needed. There aren't many good sandwich places around. So, there's that. I thought it was going to be just another bagel place. Boy was I wrong. First: their bagels are the best around: real NY bagels (that fit in your toaster)! Tasty, crunchy outside, chewy inside, the works. And a million kinds of homemade creamcheese blends that are amazing. Smoked fish if that's your thing (it's not mine, but it is my family's) The menu is HUGE. Their sandwiches are SO TASTY AND SATISFYING. There's a wrap I share with my mom every week and it's just so delicious that once we found it, we're having a hard time budging from our weekly lunch. But we get other things to sustain us through the week, lol. Also the store is bright, lovely, and CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. (to go with the INCREDIBLY fresh food) Finally, the owners and the staff are wonderful. That doesn't even cover it, really. The first time I went to City Bagel, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had been to the space a lot in the past as it was the former location of another establishment we frequent. The space was remodeled to give a bright and clean modern look. I found they had a lot of special cream cheese flavors. I decided to order a sunflower bagel with hot cherry pepper cream cheese. IT WAS AMAZING! Before going to City Bagel, I never went to a bagel place with hot cherry pepper cream cheese, only jalapeño cream cheese. The cream cheese compliments the tangy spicy flavor of the cherry peppers. Needless to say, I was sold, this was my new bagel place. When I returned, I asked to try another cream cheese flavor I've never seen before - basil bacon. The owner gave me a mini bagel with some to try. This was a nice alternative to hot cherry pepper. My husband's favorite is getting a pork roll, egg, and cheese on a cranberry bagel. Our favorite 'sweet cream cheese' is peach. With regards to service, in the beginning you could tell they we just getting used to the space, but now they have a good rhythm. I've visited many times since they've opened and only had one instance where they made a mistake. I noticed they didn't toast my daughter's chocolate chip bagel. I mentored this and they immediately toasted the bagel and gave me another chocolate chip bagel as an apology. If you are on the fence on trying City Bagel, take a chance and thank me later. read more
