City BBQ is sooo good. I love that you can do a platter of meats and get more meat without more sides. Every platter also comes with bread. It's fast casual so you order at the counter then pick up when it's ready. They even have outdoor seating which is nice! Food was great! Brisket was to die for. read more

Christmas Eve order. The turkey breast was honestly some of the best I have ever eaten and the triple que was ok. But we ordered a small 1/4 smoked ham that in the pictures from the website looked to be thin sliced or at least sliceable by us. What we got was chunks of ham like "the other end" of a pre-sliced ham you can get from the grocery store. It was dry and not at all what I expected from this place. We expected something that could be put on slider rolls for sandwiches for the kids as the picture on the menu showed. We love CB and had a great catering experience for my daughters high school graduation party back in June. Just disappointed in the quality and variance from the pictures of what we received this time. The website picture I posted for comparison was the 1/2 ham... I think. CB no longer lists the ham as I think it was just a holiday offering but you can see what we got for our $40. read more

Probably my mistake for ordering wings from a rib joint. Smaller than expected, a bit overcooked, but the biggest problem was they obviously dumped a shaker of salt on them. Totally inedible.... they went straight to the trashcan. Pass on their wings next time, I should've stuck with the ribs. read more

Thanks to everyone who worked on Thanksgiving! We had a hot turkey and ham meals with 4 sides. Our pickup time was 11:45am. They had ran out of gravy by then, but sent an employee to get more. At mid-day, ordered food online. Food was just okay. The sides didn't seem fresh. The potato salad and hush puppies were the favorites. The consistency and flavor potato salad was great. The hush puppies were crisp on the outside and not dry, but fluffy on the inside. But the cole slaw's vinaigrette was oddly syrupy and the macaroni and cheese was mushy and bland. Parking is a bit tight, but there are dedicated spots for curbside pickup. read more

Today was our second time door dashing City BBQ. The food came QUICK and hot which is great. The first time, the brisket was sliced nice and thin, juicy and awesome. Today, we bought $300.00 worth of food for dinner and left overs for Easter Dinner. The brisket was sliced thicker, a bit tough/over cooked. A good brisket needs to be sliced thin and should be slightly pink/smoke ring. It was still good but the first time was better. The original sauce is AMAZING. It's nice and smokey with a bit of a kick. The BEST sauce I've had in the Indy area. Most are sweet or too vinegary. We also had the wings and both times, we only get the drummies and I prefer flats. They are good and my husband loved them (he's a drummie guy), but why no flats? We also got the pastrami (I didn't try it because I don't care for pastrami) and my husband liked it as well as the Cole slaw. My favorite side is the baked beans. Great smokey flavor and the bits of brisket really shines. Mac and cheese is nice and creamy but could use more seasoning like garlic powder, salt..something, but still very good. When door dashed, everything comes packaged very well. No spills, nice and neatly packaged. They double bagged the order so the brown bag wouldn't split open and the order was complete. This review pains me. City has been our "go to" for parties and we visit for carryout 2-4 times per month. Rib day "all the way." Until now. The last couple of visits have been so disappointing. I am pretty sure that the ribs were reheated from a least a couple of days ago. The outside meat was tougher than any jerky I have had. One rib was a tiny corner that was not large enough to even have a bone and the lil guy next to it had a partial one. I thought that the salad would be safe enough but one bite of the "bad" grape tomato proved me wrong. Something has changed there and I hope that can get back on track. read more

I've eaten here a handful of times and here's my final opinion ( Carmel and Fishers locations ) -The customer service is always welcoming - Expensive for the small portions you receive - Cornbread muffins 10/10 moist and sweet I always ask for a extra one - Baked Beans not my favorite - The corn is just corn - Corn pudding 10/10 - Mac and cheese nothing spectacular - Greens just okay - They do have wide selection of BBQ sauces to choose from which is nice Now the meat is touch and go it used to very moist and flavorful when they first opened but recently their brisket has been consistently dry along with with the chicken. Been here many times, first time since Covid. Food has always been consistently good/great. Great way /place to order turkey and sides for Thanksgiving, and not overpriced for the convenience it provides. I had a turkey sandwich, no bread, green beans and corn pudding. I loved it all. I would say the only downside right now for me is that customers bus their own table. So the table is not sanitized between customers. Some may not care, but while we're still in Covid, I'll not dine in there. I was early, so likely first person at the table for the day. Carry out for me for the mean time. read more

Wow! Super friendly crew. The ambiance is really cool with old barnwood siding throughout. Nice music playing. Very clean. Had the Not So Sloppy Joe, potato salad and iced tea. It's been several years since we ate at a City Barbecue. We used to go to the one in Avon a lot. We decided to have lunch here today. We got the City Sampler I think it was. You could upgrade to pint sized sides for $5 more so we got macaroni and cheese and baked beans with brisket. They were good. We also ordered a corn pudding and some hush puppies and loved those. For me it would have been better with onions in the hush puppies. The meats were delicious with the exception of the sausage. I thought they used to have the smoked sausage but this was something different and I didn't like it but knowing that next time we will swap it out for another meat. The meats are flavorful enough for me as is. Their sauces have too much of a vinegar taste for me. I did like the spicy one. It's a little expensive for lunch but we still enjoyed it. read more

We ordered the sampler. The judge sampler. Everything was great. My husband ate it for three days. The pulled pork was very tender not stringy but tender. The brisket was very nice and lean. I didn't taste the chicken. We got the beans and the green beans. The baked beans were delicious I don't like green beans cooked til they scream in pain but Jeff loved them. It comes with cornbread and Texas toast which were nice. The prices have gone up of course. The judge is now 34.99, not 29.99. I'm not a big carnivore so my liking it as much as I did says quite a bit. read more

In Fishers you are stuck with one of two chain BBQ places.. if you drive to a few surrounding areas about 30 minutes away you will find great BBQ . BBQ is supposed to be very moist and flavorful from the smoking .. here you will find convenient without driving mass produced BBQ. Very dry with not much seasoning or flavor from a long smoke where care and TlC was given to the smoking process .. I absolutely love this place! I've gotten carryout several times and just ate in with a friend for the first time. The customer service was awesome inside and everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. I'm not surprised, as the curbside to-go folks have always been in the best moods. Inside was clean, well maintained, and tables were thoroughly sanitized as soon as people left. I like all the food here but the banana pudding in to die for. The homemade caramel drizzle, perfect ratio of bananas/wafers/whipped cream/pudding, oh my goodness. It would be on my "last meal" menu. I also love the pulled pork and chicken for always being moist and flavorful, the corn pudding (I guess I love pudding, haha), and the baked beans with brisket. I like mixing the original, sweet, and brush fire bbq sauces but if I had to pick just one, I'd stick with original. When eating in, you can get as much sauce as you want, they are not stingy. I don't typically get soda anywhere but I love their homemade sweet tea mixed with their homemade lemonade (Arnold Palmer for the win!). Food here is as good as it is at any City BBQ and the staff is friendly and efficient. Unfortunately you can only eat what is available and often that is not much. Over the last year or so I have gone in only to be told they are out of brisket, pork and or pastrami. Sometimes more than one meat at the same time. I don't know if it is bad management or if they do not have correct equipment for the volume of business they have. Either way, I have gone in for something they were out of too many times. I would call ahead to make sure they have what you want. It sucks to drive 40 minutes round trip and have no dinner for me and the family Deliveries have taken as much as 3 hours. read more

Restaurant is set up where you're in line to place your order and pick up your order at the other counter. Line can get a little long but it goes by pretty fast. You then seat yourself and all the condiments, sauce, and drinks are all at different stations for self serve. There are plenty of seats inside and even a bar inside the restaurant. Very casual and kid friendly atmosphere.

You can tell he really cares about his customers and the food. The pulled pork is seasoned so well, so tender, not too fatty and the sauce is very flavorful. The beans and slaw are killer. All around, a fantastic experience. The building itself tells you all you need to know- small business that closes when they sell out. No frills, just dang good BBQ.

The waiter, who is a very nice young man, went to change it for us. That's when the hostess showed up and saw our bill and took it from the waiter. She then came back with a new bill with dinner price. I asked the waiter why we are being charged dinner. He said sorry it's dinner after 3:30. But thats not right because their flyer says lunch until 4. And we were told we can't have ribeye and the initial bill was for lunch. The waiter looked very embarrassed and I knew that the hostess forced him to say that . It was a birthday and the waiter was a nice man so I didn't want to make a scene. But it should be illegal for them to give you a bill for lunch and then change the bill to dinner after asking for a senior discount for a 75 year old. The food was decent, but the hostess at the front desk ruined it for us. That's not how you treat repeated customers. Never go there! Way better service at the Japanese bbq and other buffets. Not worth it to be treated like poor beggars and disrespectful towards a senior.

Smokey Blue, as you can probably guess, is a BBQ food truck with a menu that includes sandwiches (chicken, brisket, hot honey chicken, and pulled pork. The BBQ is Texas Style. They also offer So-Cal Burritos (I don't recall these being on the menu today, though I'll also admit I wasn't looking for them). Each sandwich offers a side and I also received a slice of corn bread. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken comes with either regular or spicy sauce. I opted for regular, however, in the future would probably go for spicy. Because of a work meeting during lunch, I hit the market early during the 10:30am-1:30pm hours. This isn't my favorite thing to do as trucks are typically still getting set up and meals can feel either rushed or incomplete. This was kind of true here as fries were not yet ready and with several people waiting it seemed a bit rushed. The nicely seasoned fries were good, however, they stuck together a bit. The people are very friendly here. There's an obvious desire to connect with customers. It also appears to be faith-based/inspired as there's a Scripture on the food truck. Smokey Blue also offers loaded fries, loaded mac, wings, and pork nachos. Like most food trucks, I do think some of the items are sporadically available. You can also get bottled water and soft drinks in can (Coke Products). I did also see one dessert on the menu - Smoked Apples with Brown Sugar, drizzled with Dulce de Leche and a delightful crumble on top on top of our own Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. I did not see them today, however, I'll likely try them in the future. I have a feeling this was somewhat hindered by my arriving early. This was a very solid 4-star, however, I can't quite get myself to go 5-star. Service was great, food was good, and prices were consistent with most food trucks. I will definitely return, however, I'll likely wait for them to get a bit more settled and not try to do lunch at 10:45am. Smokey Blue also offers catering and will appear at special events. Lots to love here - I look forward to returning in the future and hopefully forking over that fifth star!

Our server was so friendly, welcoming and eager to ensure we had a wonderful time. The menu isn't huge, but they have a lot of unique items. The chicken sandwich I had was delicious, but it was a bit messy. My friend also enjoyed her burger which was the special of the month. We ordered the special drink from Halloween, and it was tasty. I did think $10 was a bit high for what was essentially a vodka and sprite. Trivia was also a blast. They had cute prizes for the holiday and we even ended up winning a gift card. Not bad for free trivia. The host did a great job and made everyone feel welcome. The pickleball court also looked fun if the weather was nicer. Can't wait to come back.

For the price, at least, the chili was made with brisket rather than ground beef. It was OK. We went to the ice sculptures in downtown Carmel a while ago. The various caramel fire stations were having a chili cookoff. Thank you fireman for your service! You are also very good cooks! One fireman had a brisket chili which was fabulous! In fact, in our opinion, it was much better than City BBQs. As mentioned, we love City BBQ. However, go for the ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Not the chili.
