Jesse, our server, was welcoming, attentive and friendly. She's been working at Famous Dave's for nine years and is proud to tell you that everything is made fresh in-house (except the pies - which come from Baker's Square). We ordered from their $10 or less lunch menu. I had the Georgia Chopped Pork with their crinkle-cut famous fries. The pork was moist and flavorful and the brioche roll was fresh. The fries were crispy with a tad too much salt for my aging arteries. My husband had the Ultimate Burger with fries. The Ultimate burger is huge with a burger topped with bacon, pulled pork AND cheese! OMG, he ate the entire thing. The place is filled with amazing memorabilia from pre 1960's. We wondered around and enjoyed looking at the fishing tackle, kitchen ware and old gas pump. The dining rooms are colorful and fun. We had a great experience at Dave's. read more

The food was good not excellent. It wasn't really hot when it came out. There was just a few of us customers in the dining room. The waitress only came by one time to check on me to see if everything was OK. After I ate quite a bit of my lunch the food did come out quick, but not hot. The dining room is decorated really nice with a lot of country style Signs and Old throwback Signs. I ordered the lunch menu the platter and combo specials. I've only had these on the west coast and they don't disappoint. So when coming to one in the midwest I was excited since it originated from this side of the Us. Wrong, I gave this place two tries and I think it's just not for me. Order togo both times and Rip tips were just tough and not good. They actually sent me a survey which I was honest . They insisted on remaking my food because my experience wasn't the best. This was nice and thoughtful. Only to come back to get food two weeks later and the same. Kiree was our server. She met us at the door and sat us. She was about the most professional waitresses I've had in a while. She was nice and accommodating. I asked for a lemonade, but the glass was dirty. She didn't miss a beat, apologized and brought me a lemonade in a styrofoam cup. My hubbys ribs appeared old and dried out. This is the only Famous Dave's in central Indiana. The only other Indiana location is in Fort Wayne, but who wants to drive all the way up there?! You don't have to. This Famous Dave's is centrally located within sight of The Pyramids. I visited for lunch, and got the BBQ Stuffed Baked Potato. It comes with your choice of meat (Georgia chopped pork, BBQ pulled chicken or Texas beef brisket), plus shredded cheese, bacon, sour cream and whipped butter. I got the pork, and it was delicious. One thing to note: If you order your meal to go, they package all of the toppings and meat in separate containers, and the baked potato is intact. You'll need to cut into the potato and fluff it up a bit before adding your meat, cheese, sour cream and bacon to it. But once you do, it's a really good and filling lunch. And because the potato is the vehicle for all of the meat and dairy, I can tell myself that this is a healthy option. Potatoes are nutritious! As for the Georgia chopped pork: I thought it was really good, but I ain't no barbecue aficionado. It was also a small portion for the baked potato, so my sample size was compromised. My standards for barbecue is usually: Is it so dry that I need to drink something while I eat? This pork was not dry and I didn't have to drink something while I ate. It was flavorful and not too saucy. My loaded baked potato came with a side and a sweet corn muffin. I chose fries, because why eat one type of potato when you can eat two? I'm glad I ordered the fries, because they were amazing. They do say on their website that their fries are "famous," and I have 100% belief in that marketing ploy. The corn muffin was also good, but more like a dessert. Anyway, the service was great but slow. I visited shortly after they opened for the day (11 a.m.), and they seemed like they were still waking up. Came here for the first time for this location on a random Friday night around 7:30 PM I am personally a fan of famous Dave's barbecue sauce, which you can find at almost any grocery store for over the last two decades Coming here, however, was a little underwhelming partially for numerous reasons. First reason is that while the menu is very classic and has some really traditional barbecue staple items it was unfortunate that the food came out cold if not room temperature at best. I realize a lot of these things are just simply warmed up and that's a real shame. Service was OK although the waiter was enthusiastic at times but also forgot to explain the sauces as well as the secret super hot sauce that is also available in the kitchen Service was definitely the minimum expectations although he was nice, but definitely not attentive I'm not sure I would come back here, but I've came here in the first place, expecting some quality and consistency, especially from a chain of this size With all the barbecue joints across Indiana, especially Indianapolis there's definitely some stiff competition and other considerations for dinner read more

This place definitely exists for the lunch crowd. I went around 6pm on a Tuesday, and it was absolutely dead inside. Service was fine, but not particularly fast, which was okay for my timeline. Beer selection was adequate, though only 2 local options. Menu is standard BBQ fare. I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich. The ribs are also good here. For being the Midwest, they actually offer quality Texas and Carolina barbecue. Restaurant looks like a southern barbecue shack. read more

I go here at least once a week for lunch as they have really great lunch specials. I would say the BBQ is pretty solid given it's a chain. Can you get better at local places...absolutely. But, for consistent tasty food at a pretty fair price I keep coming back. read more

I arrived slightly after 7 pm and had to wait to be seated because there was no hostess or server around. Eventually someone came and seated me in a booth in the main dining area. I was going to order BBQ but the calorie content was high at 960 for their minimum 6 bones and the pulled pork was too high for me as well for a late night dinner. So I chose the Chicken Tenders, the Firecracker Green Beans, the Sweet Corn and they give you a Cornbread Muffin with pretty much any entree. The food arrived in twelve minutes. I was impressed with that speed. Everything tasted good. The green beans turned out to be too hot for me to eat. Not their fault; my system can't handle spicy foods anymore. I'm not a fan of corn on the cob only because it seems to get stuck in my teeth a lot but I ate it and it was delicious mainly because it was well buttered already. The cornbread was pre-buttered as well. The tenders were great. The Yelp app says they close at 8 pm which seems a little early to me. Maybe the time is out of date. The ribs were so burnt they were black and crusty, tough and almost inedible. The side of Wilber's beans, I believe they're named, was almost $4.00. I was surprised to see how small it was for the price. The beans were not good. They were dried out and too sweet. I hadn't been there for quite awhile. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I do not like to fry food in my own home, but I've been craving fried catfish for a while! Since no fish fries are happening yet, I took our family to Famous Dave's BarBQue for dinner. On Fridays, there are two catfish specials: you can do a boatload of catfish to go, or you can dine in and do an all you can eat catfish dinner. I would call ahead and check that each location honors the special. I know the Noblesville location does not. We decided to dine in and got the all you can eat catfish dinners. They come with fries as well, but no cornbread, so we ordered a side of cornbread for the table. My daughter loves Mac And cheese so she had a side of the famous Dave's Mac, not the kids Mac and cheese because that was only Kraft. The app gives you a free burger for signing up so my son got the famous Dave's burger...turns out he doesn't like the smoke house Smokey flavor so we sent it back and the staff happily gave us a new kids meal to replace the burger instead. The catfish, fries, and cornbread were all tens! The tarter sauce was delicious too, had a kick to it that I liked. The Mac and cheese had corn in it...very different but my daughter loves corn and Mac and cheese so she ate three helpings! I personally did not like the Mac and cheese. It was not cheesy and lacked seasoning. My daughter is three and was happy so I was happy. The staff was friendly and the environment was good. The Famous Dave's near me have closed -- so sad! So when we spotted this one before leaving Indianapolis, we stopped in for lunch to get a taste of what we've been missing. Yum! Everyone enjoyed their meal (burnt ends, pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich); i especially love the grilled pineapple, and my mlm likes their pickles. Although the food was good, this was some of the worst service I have ever had. The waitress sat us in between two booths of horribly, obnoxious, racist people. The server paid attention to them, took care of their needs, yet my wife had to wait 30 min to get water. I have to update my review and drop a star, damn it. I used to talk up the delicious burgers at Famous Dave's, but I can no more. The previous hand formed burgers with chunks of brisket and crispy charred edges are gone. In its place is an average, dry, pre-formed patty of questionable quality, complete with the seemingly cookie-cutter flower petal edges to give the illusion of being hand made. The char grilling flavor being the only seasoning on the meat itself. The bun was also not fresh or delicious. The "manhandler" sandwich, which bragged on it's gargantuan proportion was smaller than my Devil's Spit burger. They used to make great house chips. Now, the BBQ chips are standard bagged chips with seasoning sprinkled on them. Word is they are discontinued as of November 1st, 2018. Service in the bar was average. I had to request a refill, which is fine. Even a manager stopped by when my mouth was full and didn't notice my empty glass. The bartender had a pack of Kool's in her back pocket, which is probably where she disappeared to for a while. A visible pack of smokes seems like a weird thing to see on your server. Burnt ends appetizer is SO GOOD. I think there's probably still a few good options floating around the menu, but I'll mourn that delicious, juicy, charred burger for years to come. Beer was cold. Iced tea was good. That mustard sauce would probably be good on a car bumper. Having used this location for catering prior, I'm conflicted about doing that again. I've enjoyed Famous Dave's other locations, but this one just wasn't up to par. Perhaps they were short-handed as many are these days, but it was a solid 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence and another 5 before our drink orders were taken. The food orders came out fairly quickly, but surprisingly they were barely warm and the quality just wasn't there. Fortunately, the beer was tasty and the bartender was very friendly. Good stop to satisfy craving. So I've been here a couple years before and I thought the food was just ok. Fast forward to today and I still feel the same. I really had a craving for banana pudding so I did my handy dandy search and this was the closest location that had it. I also had not eaten all day so why not kill two birds with one stone right? Once my food was ready my name was called and I was shown my food and if it was to my satisfaction, I was free to take it and go. Once I arrived at home, I snapped my Yelp photos and dug right in lol. I'm glad that I asked for extra sauce because the food was looking a little dry. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of grilled pineapple steaks and of course the item I truly came for, banana pudding. After adding more BBQ sauce I was pleased with the sandwich. They give you pickles on the side in case you want to add it. The grilled pineapple steaks was a nice sweet & spicy treat. I hate to say it, but it was a little too much cayenne pepper though. A few bites in and I was grabbing my drink. and drumrollll......................the banana pudding was great. I'm always a little worried trying it at new places becase yes you can indeed mess up banana pudding. For the price, it was a large portion and I couldn't even finish it all. I only stopped in because my Aunt had a coupon / gift card. I'd been before, she had never been. I was disappointed as in the last time I visited. I ordered the 2 MEAT LUNCH COMBO. The ribs tips were greasy and fatty, too much fat. The Wilbur beans included some smoked sausage that tasted old. The only nice thing about this visit was Joe , the greeter. Pretty good if you need a quick fixed for slow smoked BBQ. I enjoy their lunch menu. It could offer a little more meat but for the price it beats other places within the city. The Wilbur beans has a good mixture of spice and sweetness. The chopped ham mixed it gives it an great added touch to savor each bite. I personal indulge in the St.Louis Spare Ribs and Sweetwater Catfish combination. I've ordered the Texas beef brisket with mashed potatoes, and we also had 2 meat combo, Georgia chopped pork, rib tips, grilled pineapple, and beans. Beef brisket was so hard. It had the texture of beef jerky. That's how hard and chewy it was. Rib tips were all fat and not enough meat. My favorite was the mashed potatoes and grilled pineapples. Yes, a very nice bbq joint by any criteria - service, food,, atmosphere! Wood burning fireplace on a cold evening in Indiana makes all the difference. The waitress was amicable, a classic Midwest girl, polite. Started with a Hennessy to warm up, and a loaded soup cup (loved the bacon bits in it), at only $3.25. For main course I had "choose 3 meats / burnt buttz, Texas brisket and ribs, with an excellent baked beans and cole slaw. This was at a reasonable $16.99, and the pickles were out of this world! Our experience lasted a painful hour and a half almost 2 hours with most of that time waiting on attention from our server and they were NOT busy. The server would not even make eye contact with us. She made sure to pay special attention to the guests that were her ethnicity while ignoring us. It took forever to get our food. There were 2 tables set AFTER us and they were served before us. We received refills on our drinks 1 TIME! The ribs were like jerky, the chicken had no flavor, the corn on the cob could not be ate off the cob, I had to cut it off and then it was hard and inedible. Now I'm kinda on the fence with Famous Dave's Barbeque. I love real authentic barbeque and this was a slight let down.  I was hoping to get that "right off the grill" BBQ but got the "right out the bag" dining experience. But for a franchise restaurant, I guess it meets industry standards. My family decided to eat lunch together and try Famous Dave's. When we first walked in, the hostess greeted us with a friendly smile and sat us down within minutes. We had a large group and they were able to accommodate us comfortably. The menu had a good variety of selections of combos and entrees; my sister and I shared the Feast For Two for $38.99. I ordered sweet tea but had to add little more sugar, no biggie. We ordered the Feast as is and added Mac N Cheese. The table had a few choices of BBQ sauces to choose from and my favorite was Rich& Sassy (kinda like me..ha!)   When the food the arrived, I immediately grabbed the St. Louis-Style Sparerib and roasted chicken. I work right next to Famous Dave's, but I always forget about it. It's really too heavy of a place for lunch, and when it's time to go home, I don't really want to hang around the office.. so it's rare that I come here. Having to spend some extra hours in the office but not wanting to pass up a dinner opportunity with a friend, I suggested that we meet at Famous Dave's. I arrived about 5:30 on a Monday evening and was seated in a section that had no one else in it. I walked to the other end of the restaurant to the restroom and noticed there were only a couple of other people there, and they were at the bar. I went for the Brisket 'Que Plate special, which is offered Monday-Thursday from 4:30 pm until close and Saturday/Sunday 11 am-4:30 pm. For $10.99 I got beef brisket on top of Texas toast with a side of steamed broccoli, corn on the cob and a corn muffin. The portion wasn't as big as the regular dinner entrees, but for me, it was the perfect size. Our server came out with a small sampling of the house-made BBQ chips and went over the six different sauces that were on the table - drawing a smiley face with each sauce on a plate while explaining them to us. By the end, we were just squirting sauce on the chips and inhaling them. While we couldn't do dessert, I noticed I got a survey on my receipt that gets me a free one the next time I come in if I share my experience within the next three days. Score! read more
