Food was fantastic. The dinning area is small. Most of the orders were takeout, but the place was hopping. They had one person running the register and phone orders, so that was a little hectic. I'll probably be back.

This unpretentious barbarism restaurant is not exactly on the beaten path in a mini strip center in the east side of Carmel. The decor is nice and not over the top. The service is amazing and the food is plentiful and cooked well. This is worth seeking out if you want some extremely good barbq that IMHO blows away the closest others to here.

I really love rackz. It's very close to my house and I've never had to wait for a table or long for my food. The staff is engaging and insightful with the menu. They've been kind to my children when I'm with them. And the center stage is the food. I always go with the chicken and it's never disappointed. Two thumbs way up!

10 out of 10! I honestly can't wait to go back again. Me and mom split a bunch of food such as rib tips and brisket. Ambiance: The establishment is small but mighty! A lot of people seem to order pickup, lucky enough me and my mom were able grab a seat. Since it was our first time trying I wanted to eat it right away. Tables and floors were clean. Service: The cashier answered any questions I asked and gave recommendations on what to try. She even let us try some of their housemade ranch and that was chefs kiss. Food: The brisket is melt in your mouth and the tip tips actually had some meat to them unlike some other places I've been too and the prices were very reasonable for how much you get! We ever got pulled pork which my mom isn't the biggest fan of and even she enjoyed it All in all I loved this place more than I thought I would. I wouldn't have expected to get such good bbq especially in Carmel of all places.

Had a taste for some BBQ and was in the area. I had heard about there being this new (to me) bbq spot, so said why not. Upon entering, there was this nice lady who greeted us. She was very friendly and engaging. She was wiping down tables and the counter; making sure the place was clean and presentable. It's not too big inside, but big enough. They have outdoor seating which is a plus! The also have an area with pub style seating, up by the front door in the window. It took us a minute to decide what we wanted. We ended up deciding to share a combo meal; 2 meats & 2 sides. Later, after eating, we had a sweet tooth and went for some dessert; pecan pie. I wanted to give 5 stars, but the sides need some work and the pecan pie wasn't the best. We were told it wasn't made in house, but rather purchased from a local company. The custard part of the pie wasn't bad, but something was throwing the taste off. I'm not sure if it was the crust or actual pecans, but neither tasted fresh. And that taste was throwing the whole slice off. The brisket was very tender, fresh and seasoned. I should've gotten it without the sauce to taste it before, but nevertheless, it was good. For sauce, we went with a mix of hot & mild. This was the perfect blend for the sauce. It gave the right amount of heat. The pulled chicken was not dry and again, the sauce was the perfect touch. The meats definitely held their own. Now the sides could use some work. We didn't care for the baked beans. They seemed a bit too thick as if they were cooked too long. No hint of sweetness or any other distinguished flavors. I prefer my baked beans more flavorful and with some juice. Now the green beans were different. Ones I wouldn't expect to find on a bbq menu, but they managed to fit in some how. They were bright in color, had a nice crunch and was seasoned. In my opinion, they were more like an Italian green bean. They had hints of garlic and Parmesan. And last but not least, the cornbread muffin was very satisfying. It wasn't dry, yet not falling apart. It also had pieces of corn throughout, but not a lot where it changed the consistency. Overall, this hidden gem is worth going back for the meats & customer service alone. I think after a certain time, they offer Smoked fried wings. The sign was put out after we had been there a while. I would love to try those on my next visit along with trying different sides.

Consistently good food. They put some love into their BBQ. It is very good. Rib Tips are new to me. Not sure I can go back to regular ribs now.

Rib tips, baked beans and house made potato chips! All delicious. The person who took our order was sooo friendly. I have ordered here with Uber eats and loved it, but I will definitely be going to eat there, too.

The server/cashier/hostess whatever you to call her was amazing. She stole the show away. She was so kind and friendly to everyone that came in and made sure you enjoyed the experience. She knew her customers asking regulars how vacations were and continuing conversations with ease. It was like a childhood friend's mom when you were younger making sure you had everything and more of what you needed. So to put it short, staffing was amazing. It was a small space, maybe 5 tables and a small little 4 person bar top. Not so small that you felt like you were on top of one another but cozy. The cost seemed reasonable for the food I received, I totally full after I finished my meal. The food came out quickly and was everything I ordered in larger portions than I expected. The sidewinder fries were ok, but I'd prefer them slightly more crispy especially with the larger pieces. The cornbread was unique where it seemed to dipped in a batter to make it a little more sweeter than normal but it was good. The Mac and cheese was right was average and what you would expect. The brisket and pulled pork were above average, I preferred the pulled pork over the brisket. Both cuts were tender but not fall of the bone style. I enjoyed both with and without sauce. I tried the sweet and spicy sauces. The spicy had a perfect balance of just a very slight kick. The sweet sauce grew on me but I probably would not order it again. Overall a great experience and would be worth the trip again just for the service I received.

Pic is a little wonky, but you get it.

Sammy could not have been nicer and more helpful and cheerfully said, "Mistakes happen. You keep the baked beans and let us give you your green beans." Decided today to give it a try and wow, that is a poor excuse for barbecue and poor value for the money. Most importantly is the food quality and I have to say the only thing that was good were the hush puppies. The pulled pork had zero flavor, the nonexistent brisket was overcooked and hard to eat and I saw them take the sausage out of some plastic bag and just heat it up. The mac & cheese was inedible, and the corn pudding had no flavor. Same thing for the Bread. Soggy without flavor. On top of that, check out the pathetic portion size for over for a +$30 meal. The BBQ poutine fries were so big on the tray that I felt a little ostentatious as I was carrying the tray back to my table. It felt like all of the food on my tray surely should have been going to a family. But no: All of these BBQ poutine fries were just for one gluttonous person (me). Every so often, I would get an enormous fry that was way bigger than the others. It was more like a steak fry! It was like a little baked potato. It was nice to have that variety in the appetizer (which I was treating like an entree because, again, I was eating this giant appetizer by myself without shame). One of my children opted to get the kids meal here, which is the mac & cheese with a side (he chose fries). The mac & cheese is cavatappi pasta, so it's that pleasing curly texture that kids love (my kid loved it). If you are looking for pub food, comfort food, or just plain good food, you can't go wrong with this place.

I always order the Cuban when a new restaurant has one on the menu, and Big Lug's did not disappoint. It was juicy, flavorful, and one of the better Cubans I've had in a while. On my second visit, I went with the blackened cod tacos on corn tortillas (you can also get flour tortillas, and they offer shrimp and breaded fish options). They were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Both visits I ordered the spicy garlic cauliflower, and it was outstanding. The homemade blue cheese dressing took it to another level. If you're on the fence about ordering it, don't be--it was one of my favorite things on the menu. The outdoor walk-up bar creates a really cool, laid-back atmosphere, making it a great place to relax whether you're meeting friends or just enjoying a meal by yourself. The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and both meals came out quickly. I don't usually eat at the same restaurant twice on a trip, but Big Lug earned it. If I'm back in the area, it'll definitely be on my list again.

We sat right in the middle of the main thoroughfare and were completely ignored for at least 15 minutes before we finally flagged someone down. The guy, "H," apologized and said, "Oh, my bad--it's all good." We figured, no big deal, let's move on. We ordered pretty simple food, apps and were then going to put in some entrees once apps arrived. We asked for waters and a water bowl for our pups. He brought two waters--with no straws--and no dog bowl. We assumed he was going to grab the bowl, so we waited... and waited. Then I noticed him at the end of the bar leaning against some boxes, texting. So I finally got up, interrupted him and asked for the dog bowl. His response, "oh my bad." Our appetizers came out, and naturally, we asked for silverware. A few minutes later, I spotted "H" in the corner on his phone again. At that point I was thinking, seriously?! So I got up again, interrupted "H's" text convo and asked for silverware. His response again was, "Oh, my bad." I didn't respond to him I just turned around and went back to my seat. Honestly, the whole experience started feeling more like a self-serve restaurant than table service. It's a chill spot and we weren't being needy whatsoever. We never asked for any refills- we were merely asking for the basics. We wanted to order more food, but by that point we were pretty turned off and decided to just get the check. Then came the final straw: my guy had his license and credit card sitting on the table because he hadn't brought his wallet out for our monon trek. When "H" came back with the checkout thing, without question or hesitation - he grabbed the card and swiped it. We didn't even realize what happened until afterward. Maybe that's standard there, but I've never had a server just take my card without asking. Usually you get a "hey do we want to use this card? Or something to confirm. And of course the tip structure is skewed so the min is 20% unless you want to try to figure out to manually enter in 15% (which most ppl don't -incl my guy), so we left 20% and left irritated and still hungry. "H" didn't seem hungover or anything--he just genuinely seemed like he did not not give a shiiiit. We had to get up three separate times to get things we had already requested: the dog bowl, a couple straws, and silverware. (Basics) And a quick note on the 7-Layer Hoss Dip: don't expect seven layers. It comes in a small thick ceramic bowl and was basically beans, guacamole, a tiny bit of corn and some hard cheese on top. Definitely would not recommend it. Way too "beany" and not worth $16 at all. The southwest rolls were decent- very fried tho. Cheesecake Factory's are better ;) The location and dog-friendly atmosphere are great, with the exception of the homeless camp right at their patio entrance, but unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. Hopefully this was just an off night, because Big Lug has a lot going for it.

Being fairly new to the Fishers area, I did a quick review scroll (as a yelper does lol) and went in with high hopes... and let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint! First off, the menu? Solid. So many options it almost stressed me out, in the best way! I finally landed on the Aloha Special Plate with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken + Chicken Katsu, upgraded my rice to fried rice, and it also came with the mac salad and veggies. Now when I opened that container... BABY. The portions?! Generous is an understatement. They did not come to play! The BBQ chicken was sweet, savory, and full of flavor. The chicken katsu? Crispy, golden perfection. Like... exactly what you want it to be. The macaroni salad was also hitting... creamy, flavorful, no complaints there. Only thing that fell a little flat for me was the rice, it just needed a bit more flavor. But honestly, everything else made up for it. The cooking is not as authentic however it is generous and it is fresh tasting. For example, the beef plate I believe had some type of seasoning on it. That gave it a flavor that is not exactly authentic. So I would recommend laying off the seasoning. The Katsu sauce, which is self service is also legitimate as as the teriyaki sauce.
