Stopped by CityBBQ as I had a yelp coupon for two free sides. Always check your "check in" offers! Took 5 off my bill!

Was lazy tonight, so we stopped by City BBQ. So good! Staff was friendly and provided great service as usual. Grabbed some chicken, some sauce and water, then chilled on their patio. The only thing I dislike is the contactless curbside pickup is directly adjacent to the patio so -- You get to eat a side of unwanted exhaust fumes.

Very delicious salad with pulled pork. Had tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese and assorted greens and a hearty portion of pulled pork. I also had a order of hush puppies. Hubby ordered the same but had brisket instead, for a additional $3. Very yummy lunch and a covered patio.

Longtime customer first time in New Albany. CB has always been great and I'm happy they came out of Covid the same. Had my usual; leg/thigh, one side, and an Arnie Palmer. Everything was great, bright environment, and smiling staff. Thank you for your consistency!

Two meats, ribs, chicken and hush puppies. The fries came later as they're making them fresh.

Very nice new location with a much more modern atmosphere. We were the only ones there but ate in the very nice patio. Great digital menu by the way. You order and wait for your food as before. They also have you your metal silverware and however much sauce you want. If you want any more sauce any variety just ask. If you want a drink refill you ask them for a new cup. Service was extreme helpfully, the food was excellent and hot. We got the pick 2 meats. One with ribs, chicken (pictured) and two sides the other with ribs and pulled pork with 3 sides. Great smoky flavor, the fries were off the drier, the hush puppies were amazing. It's good to be out again and enjoy a nice meal on a hot day. Love the new location. Will definitely return.

I always leave City BBQ thinking it was just okay but wasn't offensive and this new location isn't much different. I recently tried something different as I've ordered the same thing for many many years and I regretted it. I tried the pulled chicken sandwich and was really let down by this. Firstly it was really wet and not from any kind of sauce. Like maybe it was pulled early in the day and sitting in broth or something to keep it warm, I'm not sure. I also didn't love the flavor and it didn't mesh well with BBQ sauce. I'll definitely be sticking to my pulled pork going forward, or the turkey which I've also tried and enjoyed. I also always forget I don't like their green beans so this is my note to myself - don't order the green beans, you don't like them. The fries and the mac and cheese are the best sides in my opinion. Their lemonade is a real winner but I miss when they used to have warm BBQ sauce at the condiment bar as well as pickles. I'm sure I'll keep having standard meals here but I've never been blown away.

City Barbecue food quality is not what it used to be. The service and ambience is still great though.

Great spot for bbq, whether catering or lunch, the hush puppies are always a must. Brisket is great and everything else is pretty good too.

One person brought out drinks, another took order and a third brought out the meals. manager(?) walked around asking customers if everthing was OK. We ordered the steak penne pasta and the NY strip steak entrees. The pasta included mushrooms and spinach which complimented the steak bites and penne. Although plenty of beef, it was definitely chewy. Not very enjoyable. The strip steak was fine. Not the best, but far from the worst. A choice of sides came with it. The bread served was interesting. It was flat cornbread looking. Really good. We were very happy with our drinks. So this was an interesting visit and it epitomizes the problem we have today with customer service…read more And it all begins with good management, but I'll get into that in a moment. When we walked in the hostess told us, it would be a two hour wait. Yes I expect delays on a Saturday evening, but when I asked if the bar was open seating, she told me yes. I walked around the bar and noticed that the bar was full, but there were the small tables around the bar. I asked the hostess are those tables part of the open bar seating and she said yes. There were a couple available and of course we sat down, but my wife and I were both surprised that the hostess would not have encouraged us and informed us right upfront that those tables were available rather than running the risk that we would leave due to a two hour wait. We then ordered a drink before dinner and I asked for a Corona. The waiter said we're out of corona and I said that is too bad on a Saturday evening at 6:30 PM -- how is an upscale restaurant out of one of the few bottled beers that they offer? We noticed also on the drinks menu that wine is served and poured at 5 and 8 ounces, but it is priced rather high and certainly as high as a 6 and 9 ounce pours, which is more customary at those price points The meal was ok, but the chicken breast was a little bit overcooked and the seasoned sauce was stronger than our pallets can handle. We also ordered dessert and decided to have coffee. My wife asked for a decaffeinated coffee. The waiter said to us "we don't carry decaf coffee only regular." I said you've got to be kidding, really? He said yes. I said well it's not your fault at all. You are just doing your job, but please have your manager come over, so I can speak with him. He never came by, so I asked another waitress walking by to have the manager come by. He finally came to our table and he opens by saying "It's a busy night." Clearly conveying that he was annoyed that he was called to our table. I explained to him that a restaurant like Firebirds that's on the higher end of the price scale in the area should definitely have Corona beer in stock and certainly decaffeinated coffee should be on the menu on a Saturday night, in frankly every night of the week. And all he could say to me is.. " I'm sorry we'll work on that." and then he walked away. Bottom line, Fire Bird's, you lost a good customer in us. Somebody needs to council the manager on how to communicate with customers and to express genuine concern for their interest, wishes, and any inconvenience that they might encounter. For this reason, two stars is probably a generous rating, and I will give credit to our waiter who did his best and behaved far more professionally than his manager.

Since I'm by myself, I like pizza around 10"-12", any bigger I won't be able to finish it, and this spot offer that. But first, I'm pulling up back of the parking lot, not sure if the landlord forgot to pay their bills or what, it is dark, when I pulled up I wasn't even sure they open. I saw some people coming out, so I'm like okay, they open, they Ned one of those neon open sign. So new people like me can find it and know is open. They also have front entrance facing the street, but not many parking, so I think most people parked in the back I ordered the "meat" pizza. I thought it was meat pizza, but actually create your own pizza. Just a little confused the way they listed. Anyway, I ordered the 3 meat pizza, you can add more meat, but will be additional. For $15 I think is a fair deal The lady at the front was very nice taken my order, but I think she's new, cuz she can't find the meat pizza on the screen, she have to go ask her boss. lol Is all good little lady. I believe after the owner or the manager brought it out to me, very nice man. Pizza! Delicious! I will definitely go back I see why the rating is so high on here Keep up the good work people Ps: they also have a bar inside, so if you just go by yourself, you can just sit at the bar. Perfect

I met the kitchen manager, and he told me about the class that he went to. He told me about how they prepare their sauce their oven everything about it and it was wonderful. The crust was tasty. The sauce was one of the better ones I've had in a long time. It wasn't just a red sauce out of a jar, it had pieces of the tomato in it and was very authentic tasting. The ingredients were fresh. I could smell the mushrooms from across the way, not a mushroom guy myself, but if you're into that, this will definitely be the place. My wife had the meatball appetizer because she really didn't want the bread, and she, being from Greece, focuses on how ingredients taste. They need to be fresh. They need to be more than just a filler to make up for something else. She wants to come back and just have this again. Great texture, the meatballs had flavor and work just ground beef. I'll put together like other places, this was a flavorful experience. She even convinced me to try a meatball sub next time we come. Which might be hard for me, because I like the pizza so much. There's plenty of parking in the back, they have specials and a happy hour as well. A couple of different beers on tap and a nice overflow area that's covered outside for larger crowds. I can definitely see us coming back sometime soon..

My husband got the Korean BBQ Scotch Egg (so different but very tasty), BBQ glazed meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes, lemon chilli green beans (he normally doesn't like his vegetables, but he said these were so fresh and tasty), and Espresso Martini Pot De Crème. I had the Italian Wedding Soup (very good but did not have the meatballs), Pasta Bolognese (pasta was cooked perfectly and drained properly, so it did not water down the sauce!), and Apple Pie Mousse. I also got one of their mocktails called Brambleberry Tea. I could have easily drunk a couple of those! I forgot mention that they pour some nicely chilled water from a bottle that they leave on the table when you sit down. That is a nice touch for us since that is our choice of beverage when we eat. We were treated so warmly by everyone from the time we walked in until we left. Our server, Tyler, asked if we had been before (and this was our first time), so he welcomed us and asked if we had any questions. He was attentive during our time and even asked my husband if he needed any more sauce for his meatloaf. Marvin, the manager, stopped by to see how our first experience went and wanted to invite us back by gifting us coupons for an appetizer on our next visit. Thank you! My mom's mac and cheese looked awesome, very warm, and her grilled cheese dip plate was too, and she loved them. I knew I didn't want to eat my meal as-is, and was going to ask them to at least warm it up, but my waitress never came back to check on us for so long that my parents were almost done eating (my dad ate his cold, but ice cold egg was a no-go for me). He had to wave her down to come back to us, and I just decided to not bother and they took it off the bill. She also forgot to refill my coffee, but the manager came over I asked for it from him. He explained that the toppings on the avocado toast make it cold, so I guess be warned. Disappointing visit for sure.
