I was coming back from Urbana on Sat. and thought I'd stop for dinner here since I would be driving right past it. I'd heard good things and it was on my list. So glad I did. It was around 4:30 and wasn't busy yet. I sat at the bar in front of the giant screen showing a golf tourney (don't mind at all). Derek was one amazing bartender. I had the Clockwork Orange cocktail that had coconut on the rim, with the Burrata starter. Perfection. I asked Derek about the Farmer's Salad and the Green Goddess Salad. One is more fruity and the other is green with peas. Both sounded delicious. I chose the Farmer's with added salmon. I'll get the Goddess next time. I added a glass of the House Red, which is a light Cab. I loved my meal and my visit. It's very pretty and the service was excellent. Can't wait to return. Beautiful space and very allergy conscious! I was part of a private party that rented out The Clocktower Kitchen + Bar upstairs area. The downstairs was closed when we arrived (Monday evening). Both the downstairs and the upstairs are very spacious with the downstairs having a large bar too. We had a great staff supporting our event - kept our drinks and bellies full. For appetizers we had a beautiful charcuterie board with a great selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, olives, artichokes, hummus and Gluten Free crackers and crostinis that were delicious!! You wouldn't have even known they were gluten free. Also had bacon wrapped dates and baked feta bites. The bacon wrapped dates were so good! For dinner we had chicken piccata, mahi, veggies, strawberry spinach salad, scalloped potatoes and a spaghetti squash dish that was vegetarian and vegan. Very clear signs on allergies that is much appreciated! Dessert we had flourless chocolate cake, mini cheesecakes, and one of my favorites - buckeyes! The space we had was great - mingling area for appetizers, buffet of food in the center of the room that separated the appetizer area and the seated dinner part. Plenty of room. Having a few more high top tables would have been great in the mingling area as holding your beverage and enjoying appetizers can be tricky with no table. Believe we had 40-50 people. I didn't get to take any photos, but a great space for what we needed - lots of windows and lights upstairs as well. read more

I was born and raised in Plain City. Right across the street from this place actually. Been meaning to try it since it opened. Mostly to see how they remodeled the inside. I'd been in that building so many times I was reply hoping it would be nicely renovated but leave the old charm. They did a great job. Love the inside. The menu looked awesome. The drinks are nicely priced, not crazy. There are so many house cocktails we want to try. I did the mimosa and the espresso martini this time since we were there for brunch. They were both delicious. Lots of Ohio made alcohol options. I like that. We got the onion rings to start. Wow. They were pickled onions so they look purple when bite into them. Never seen that before. Yum. The sauce they came with was delicious. My nephew enjoyed it so much licked the cup clean. My sister in law is a vegetarian so she got the crispy cauliflower for her meal. It's got a very Indian food taste and she loved it. Big portion. My bother and my husband got the breakfast burrito and enjoyed them. My nephew for the salmon and scarfed it down. I got the Benedict. I'm a sucker for a food Benedict and it didn't disappoint. Loved it on the sourdough toast. We hadn't been there since it was fixed up so we asked if we could go up and look at the event space upstairs. We really enjoyed our visit for brunch here today. The restaurant is housed in Plain City's iconic clocktower, with the original gravity-driven clock still in operation. It's a beautiful space, and while we had a reservation, because we came right when they opened today they had not gotten busy yet so I'm not sure it was needed. We started with the cornbread. It was good, but a little cold in the middle and not my favorite of its kind but was better when I reheated later this afternoon. The bagel with lox was interesting as it had pickled onions which made it taste very sweet. It was a unique flavor profile that I would not order again but I'm glad I tried. My husband loved his yogurt and potatoes and my son enjoyed his pancakes. Our server was lovely and even gave my son a cookie to take home. Came in for brunch on a Sunday morning & had the best brunch I've had in a long time. The restaurant is an old clock tower that had been restored. Very aesthetic vibes on the inside. Location; new spot in Plain City, came in for brunch solo and sat at the bar. I initially made a reservation for two, but ended up coming in solo, hostess was great with the change. I was driving into Plain City to pick up some Christmas pies up the road, and made a trip of it. Food; Started with the best mimosa. I ordered probably one of the best pancakes I have had for sure in the top three ever. The cookie butter pancakes are delicious, the gingerbread crumbles bring a taste and textures that screams perfection. The bacon was good, may have been cooked a little longer for my liking but was obsessed with my pancake. I had looked at menu prior to my arrival and order a poblano cornbread togo, which was delicious at home that evening. Service; My server/bartender was great. The Clocktower Kitchen & Bar is on the corner in the middle of town - near the soon to be lit Christmas Tree. There was a lot of street parking and also a public lot in the ally behind the restaurant. Arrived a little before five for happy hour and it was very quiet. Lucky for us grabbed seats at the bar, where Jeff and the other bartenders took care of us. Also by 530 or 6 it was getting crowded. Bar filled up with local couples and friends. Very festive ! Happy hour had discounted drinks and a few appetizers discounted. Team recommended the Carmelized Onion Dip ! Great choice as it was served with toasted sourdough and was delicious. Enjoyed a few drinks, Tried 88mph and an old fashion. 88mph was outstanding! Smoked Old fashion was more syrup than bourbon. Stick with 88mph. They have a good draft beer, wine and bourbon selection. After appetizer we enjoyed Wedge Salad with Chicken - which was as ordered and very good. Tried Sweet potato Gnudi w added chicken. Definitely something to go back for. Couldnt resist but tried the mac and cheese too. We agreed that there were other great dishes to try and we will be back. Thanks to the bartenders, hostesses, and kitchen. I loved this cute "little" spot. They're not small in size at all, but the atmosphere still feels cozy and inviting. Our team stopped in after a long morning working outdoors. We were dirty, buuuut they welcomed us in anyway lol. Unlike us, the place was clean, cute, and the staff was so sweet and helpful. We only wanted something light so we could get back to work without feeling heavy. I don't remember what all my colleagues ordered, but I had the Farmer's Salad (no pecans) with salmon added. One of my colleagues ordered the same thing plus the mac and cheese. If I'm being honest, I don't think she liked it much, but since I didn't try it, I have no comment. When I return (and I will return), I plan to order the Brussels and the Short Rib Ragu. Short Rib Ragu, come on! Mmmm! Oh I forgot to mention the affordability of all these items. But being based in the DMV and traveling all over I could be sticker scarred lol. Now for the part that really sealed it for me. I was helping at an outdoor event later in the evening, and it was so hot I could barely think straight. We were first to arrive and were taken to a table away from the inside traffic as we had reservation. We were greeted by Debra and we were exceptionally pleased with her knowledge and customer service. The drinks were very well prepared and very affordable. In fact everything on the menu was reasonably priced. The smothered breakfast burrito was huge and full of nourishment. The Kelsey's Benedict was delicious and the BELT was awesome. LOVED the brunch here at Clocktower Kitchen. It was my first time visiting and went for Valentine's Day. The building has nice historic charm and inviting decor. Staff was all friendly from the hostess, to our awesome waitress Katie, and the gentleman who brought our meals. Did not particularly care for the chilaquiles, however, everything else we tried was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend the smothered breakfast burrito. It was probably the best I've had since a trip to Phoenix, AZ 5 years ago. It was loaded with really good breakfast potatoes, onions, scrambled eggs and sausage and drenched in rich queso. Enjoyed lunch at The Clocktower and the setting and service were the highlights. Really love the space. So much natural light. And Wyatt took great care of us. The cocktails were great, but the food unfortunately missed the mark a bit. I had the wild mushroom pasta with added chicken and it was just very bland. As was my husband's side of mac & cheese. It all just needed a big handful of salt. Husband had the brunch burger and it was just okay. Also tried the pork belly appetizer. Flavor was very good but it was more Brussels sprout heavy. We stopped in very close to opening night and were very impressed. We added our name to the wait list and we able to get a table in about 20 minutes. The drink menu has lots of nice options and the drinks are very carefully crafted and delicious. We also decided on the spoon bread and shrimp for appetizers which arrived quickly. Everything was piping hot and had really nice flavor. For dinner we chose the pasta and the crispy chicken sandwich. The portion sizes were very generous and the service was fantastic. This is such a gem in Plain City. In the heart of town, apparently this restaurant was the town's clocktower and was built back in 1902!! Wow, what a historic landmark. There's still remnants of its former glory all around the restaurant, especially upstairs in their events space. Go up before or after your meal to see the mechanics of its clock tower first hand. The space is always walled with windows that look out to hustle and bustle of Plain City. Now about the food and service - All very good. It's New American cuisine so familiar flavors and ingredients updated to bring some uniqueness to your dining experience. For instance, the Asian japchae noodles in the seared salmon entree, or the coconut rim in a cocktail brings a whisper of something different to your meal. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about their menu, and super accommodating to our group. We asked to move to a different spot in the restaurant and was immediately relocated. A protein temperature was miscommunicated, & was immediately remedied. Our meal came out in good timing, & the presentation of the food was appetizing and aesthetic. My salad was a standout in that department. It was colorful, vibrant and fresh. This is definitely a nice place to come if you're ever in Plain City. I'd recommend reservations though. I got the fish n chips as my meal. Again, the breading?! So good. Such fresh fish. I gave my slaw to my mamma bear. That lady LOVES kale. Everything was so fresh here and authentic flavors. I ordered the truffle fries instead of the regular fries, duh of course. We all know I don't enjoy boring things. I had high hopes, but this was my least favorite thing tbh. It was just fries with fresh Parmesan cheese on them, no oils, no seasonings. All good, I will be back y'all, catch me there. The staff was adorable and so kind telling us all about the new(ish) place. It opened up in August 2025. It previously was a hardware and a thrift store at some points. Their main goal as a new restaurant was to try and keep as much as the old architecture as they could. The ceiling details are original. The wooden wall with the ladder. It was so aesthetic, they don't build places like this anymore. it was right in the heart of uptown Plan City. This is my new favorite spot. My parents loved it. We ordered two apps and 4 entrees. 40 minutes later we got the entrees. I told our waiter we never got our appetizers. He apologized and said he'd investigate. He told us he forgot to put in our appetizer order. Said sorry and that was that. Nothing offered, just said sorry. If he had come to check on us in the 40 minutes between ordering and food arriving, he'd had seen we never got the apps. Just disappointing and very lacking service for how much the food costs. My food arrived much later than my table mates. Our water was never filled, given the fact we were never checked on. The food was not worth the money. Chicken sandwich is normal, nothing special. The fish from fish and chips was gross. Soggy and underdone. The salad was soaked in dressing. Will not be coming back. I'm surprised by the amount of raving reviews given our experience. read more

Second time here. The first time was a great experience. The second time was a little more off. They seated my mom and I at a 2 top table, which is fine. It is in a line of about 5 other 2 top tables. We were the only ones seated there at the time. Then they started seating more right next to us when they could have seated us a table apart to give us each privacy as you are right on top of each other. Other than that, the food was pretty good. There was a roll of about five tables for two and as others came in they kept putting them at those tables even tho there was other tables and booths available . You had no privacy if you wanted to have a private conversation or any conversation as far as that goes . Other than that the place was nice and our waitress, Grace was very nice and attentive . I had the wild mushroom pasta and was very good but did need more sauce . My daughter had seared salmon which she really liked. What an amazing place! From the time we walked in, the atmosphere is so great with an open concept. We started at the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail and the bartender was so helpful. Then we moved to our table and ordered the burrata which was amazing! Then I had the salmon dish and every bite was a surprise taste. The cauliflower rice was yummy and a sauce at the bottom was great. Salmon cooked perfect and the cucumbers were delicious. McKenah was our server and also the bartender; she was SO busy making drinks that looked like works of art, yet she made sure we never wanted for anything. She made great recommendations and knew how to thoroughly detail any item we asked about. She was so personable and kind. The owner, Ben, came by several times, as my dad has a food allergy. He caught that a dressing my dad wanted had the allergen in it, so he went to the kitchen and whipped up a serving without it included! We've eaten at a lot of restaurants. Nobody has ever done that. The setting is classy without being ostentatious. Prices were very fair, especially considering the quality of the ingredients. So much was locally sourced. We can't wait to go back! The mashed sweet potatoes were outstanding. They're the perfect blend of sweet and savory. The fish used for my fish and chips was so fresh and just "clean" tasting. Get the poblano cornbread; you won't be disappointed. I have no idea who came up with pickled-onion rings, but somebody out there is a genius. The smash burger and the B.E.L.T. were fantastic. We had 6pm reservations for the Clocktower Kitchen and Bar in Plain City. We arrived on time, but were told that our table was occupied. We stood in the dining room for 30 minutes waiting on our table. Finally, when the table was available, we were offered two appetizers as an apology for waiting. We ordered the cajun shrimp and crispy cauliflower as the appetizers as well as a bottle of red house wine for the table. Both appetizers were really good and delivered as described. They were the highlight of the meal. For mains, we ordered the filet medallions with a horseradish cream sauce and the pork chop with sweet potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. We also ordered a side of roasted garlic broccolini. The medallions was medium rare as ordered and tasted great although it was a little dry. The horseradish sauce had little flavor. The broccolini was cold on delivery and had little flavor as well (no garlic). The pork chop, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts were very good. The wait staff did not ask about dessert and hustled us out by offering us togo boxes. This was disappointing as we were interested in dessert and ended up going out locally for dessert. Overall, the experience at the Clocktower was disappointing. Waiting in the dining room for 30 minutes, getting a cold side and being hurried detracted from the meal. We are conflicted on coming back as some dishes were very good and the restaurant's vibe is very cool as it is located in a previous antique store. Perhaps with time, the restaurant can make adjustments and improve. As a bonus, the restaurant uses Resy and anyone with an AMEX card can use bonus awards to offset a nominal dining experience. read more

The food was good I had the burger and everything was cooked perfectly. My wife had the fish and chips and while it was good, the outside of the batter on the fish was not crispy she described it as soggy. The entrance was a little confusing as the parking lot seems to be in the back, we went in through the patio entrance and then walked through the restaurant. No signage to direct us so kind of confusing and I'm not sure if I was or was not supposed to go that way. It was a good restaurant and it looks like Jenna is responsive to reviews so imagine this place will only get better with time. read more
