Beijing Beef with a bit of Kung Pao chicken and Chow Mein Noodles.
    Dabious D.

5/5 Stars -- Kung Fu Flavor with a Side of Calorie Guilt! Let me tell you something, Panda Express, you magnificent noodle slingers of West Boise--your Chow Mein is like a Bruce Lee roundhouse kick straight to my taste buds. Those sizzling noodles are loaded with enough savory goodness to make me want to sign up for martial arts classes just to keep up with the flavor assault. But hold up--I'm not here to praise you unconditionally. Those calories in the Chow Mein? Let's just say I need a workout regimen that would make a Shaolin monk weep tears of carbs. Every bite tastes like victory, but my waistline is waving a tiny white flag in surrender. And the Beijing Beef? Sweet merciful dragonfire, that's a crispy, tangy, sweet-and-spicy explosion that deserves its own action movie. I nearly burst into applause after every crunchy bite--like I was at the finale of a Michael Bay film, minus the car chase. Delivery? FAST. Food? HOT. Like, so fast and hot I half expected the driver to drop in from the ceiling on a zipline with a wok in one hand and a ninja star in the other. The red peppers? Sweet and crunchy--like candy that learned martial arts. But let's talk about that Chinese mustard, shall we? Yawn. That was the culinary equivalent of a flat tire on a high-speed chase--dull, boring, and so flavorless I wondered if my taste buds had checked out early. It was like expecting a flamethrower but getting a wet noodle instead. Still, every other bite felt like a delicious battle--and I'm here for it. Panda Express, you are my guilty pleasure, my sweet-and-spicy kryptonite, and the unstoppable culinary force that keeps my taste buds high-kicking and begging for more.

A few of the hundreds that city buffet offers to everyone

The full experience from me. Hi I am Kyle and I usually post all my reviews on google reviews but I download this new app- for me at least. And I enjoy going restaurants basically everywhere ,China, Mexico and many more other places but still of all those other restaurants in other places in the world this one "City buffet" would always I mean always hit the right spot going here made me feel if I was a kid again enjoying my mothers food the taste of the food makes memories flash like if I was there but it isn't anymore since she's gone. Other wise I would Come here every day if i could thank you for reading my review almost a whole story Thank you city buffet for the memories you gave me.

Had not been to this place since the pandemic. Glad to see the business is doing better since. The food is decent, the variety of selections is what I like about it, don't eat buffet much, but once in a while I'm ok splurging on some Chinese food that I don't have to spend hours in the kitchen preparing.

Sushi, razor thin nigiri's, seaweed salad, salmon/cucumber roll, little ingredients.

I went on a Wednesday for the lunch service and it wasn't busy. The price was 12.99 without a soda. The inside is really dated but clean. The trays weren't filled to the brim to compensate for not being busy. I've never been here although I've been to the sister buffet in Nampa with the same name. The Nampa location has better sushi and larger variety to choose from. It would be fair to compare this place to the other buffet down the street on Fairview. They are different because the one down the street offers chicken feet and sauteed eggplants. The sushi here and down the street are very similar, lots of cream cheese and imitation crab meat. The service is good, they come around while you're getting more food. The buffet down the street only offers hibachi on the weekends whereas this place is daily. I didn't try the hibachi, so I can't give you my opinion. In conclusion, not my favorite place. I would drive further to Nampa or go down the street.

    Compliance signage.

They have sign posted to were mask when getting food but the practice is NOT enforced. I overheard wait staff tell a customer it wasn't necessary. Several customers were sneezing and coughing. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. Yes, the wait staff wears them but does not enforce the mask or 6 foot spacing rule. Food was decent but overcooked today.

A different Chinese buffet in town does not do it this way, and it's gross.

We happened to go on a Saturday when the theme was Italian. I'd definitely check the theme before going so you can pick a day that sounds best to you. For 2 adults + 1 child, our total was about $46 including drinks, with one adult receiving the veteran discount. For a buffet these days, I thought that was pretty reasonable. The buffet itself isn't huge. They use mirrors everywhere which definitely makes the place look bigger than it actually is , but there was still a decent variety. The Italian options included pasta, spaghetti, meatballs, pizza, etc., along with fried chicken, a large salad bar, desserts, soft serve, and other sides. They also had a fun little "Soda-Rama" station where you could make different flavored/dirty sodas. The biggest positive for me was the quality and freshness. Most of what we tried tasted fresh and the buffet seemed well maintained and regularly stocked. The fried chicken was especially good. If I had to compare it to Golden Corral: Chuck-A-Rama has a noticeably smaller selection, but I thought the food quality was much better. I'd rather have fewer options that actually taste good. Overall, for $46 for the three of us with drinks, we were pleasantly surprised. I'd go back I'd just check which themed day it is first next time!

He grabs the silverware, no plates and walks to a table and throws the silverware on the table & walked off. The server was terrible as well. Younger Hispanic gentleman that was awesome. Seriously though everytime we go there George is always there and rude as hell. He needs to remember if customers were not going there he would be out of a job & no money: a couple years ago I made arrangements with the manager for a birthday party. The manager was out of town the day of the party but George tells me I said this amount of people were going to be here & there was not so he was going to charge me $228 extra. Some of the people at the party came to early and paid for themselves so I told him he could refund them since I paid for their meals then. I told him that I can't go to these peoples homes and drag them to the party @ Golden Corral. Towards the end of the party the assistant manager asked to speak to me. He said George of the jungle was wrong for what he did and he was refunding me the money. George just needs to GO!!
