We went because my friend works at their Cantina which is separate from the restaurant but you can order food in the cantina from the restaurant too. The service was good my friend who was our server and the bartender was actually busy but she did a great job still. The food will it wasn't like wow nah it tasted like it was left over food from the night before and just re heated. On top of that, when we left we saw that there is a shady parking enforcement that boots cars in the parking lot and apparently hired by the restaurant owner as a source of income since their food and service is so terrible. I watch a family pay $150 to have a boot removed from their tire last night because they parked in your parking lot and eat dinner in your restaurant but walked over and looked at the Christmas lights before coming in and eating. What a scam!! They showed the man the receipt and he said they weren't allowed to go look at the lights first even if they came back and ate there. Again what a scam!! $150 is an outrageous charge and they were held hostage because they had to pay it or they could leave! I will be spreading this horrible story to as many people as I can and I hope those people do the same thing. We tried this place for the first time in search of good authentic Mexican food.. well if that's what you are after I personally suggest somewhere else. The beans were plain, and runny. The burritos are tiny... and hardly have anything in them.. The rice tasted burnt We were told we couldn't order the soup, because it wasn't fresh enough? Uhh normally soups are made same day so that's concerning. Also I was very upset with the deep fried icecream. The icecream, and strawberry berries were freezer burnt and the "deep fried" part wasn't actually deep fried, the icecream was just covered in corn flakes.. it was disgusting. Overall the food just wasn't great. We have been here many many times over the years. I am so sad. The food was way over done and just flavorless. The salsa was over sweet and nothing had salt. the meat in all of our dishes was tough and burnt. This food does not taste right. The "frijoles", aka refried beans were pasty white and NOT refried but left as whole beans. The server tried to tell me it's because they're really fresh. I was raised on real Mexican food by my Mexican grandmother and great grandmother. Their "fresh" beans never looked like this. I can abide most things, but not lying. The enchilada sauce tastes metallic which usually comes from using canned sauce. I won't bother asking about this as I'm likely to be told a story. The rice was okay. The whole plate came Luke warm. That's unusual for Mexican food also. It's usually piping hot. I will never be back and recommend this one gets a pass. There are better Mexican food restaurants here. read more

The tacos from the catering trailer were decent. The carne asada was tender but lacked any real flavor. The chicken kind of had a rubbery texture but was seasoned well. I really appreciated the garnish station out front with onions and cilantro. I'd say that $3/taco is pretty good if the tacos were prepared a bit better... although I do know that it's difficult to prepare that much chicken and hold it without it getting a tad rubbery. My wife and I went to dinner here 3 weeks ago. Ordered off the menu and was very tasty especially the rice. Well we stopped in yesterday and decided to do the buffet . What a disappointment. Pretty much everything was just luke warm and never did have any tortillas available. You have to order your enchiladas on the buffet and we were wanting just cheese and they said it would be extra for cheese so we settled for the hamburger ones. We had to ask the waitress for refills and napkins and took about 10 minutes to do that. Was only 3 more couples there eating so not to busy but our waitress was running around like her pants were on fire. But of course the group that were drinking alcohol were getting waited on very well. Very disappointed and most likely won't go back. read more

Do not patronize this business. The owner is in business with DJ's parking enforcement. I had the intent to eat at this place, so I parked in their lot. I ran to the Mexican bakery next to this business and returned to Acapulco about five minutes later. I started to enter the front door and looked over to my car and saw a wheel boot on it. A dude walked up to me and said I had to pay him $150 to get the boot off. He did't care that I was going to eat there, he said I had left the parking lot and that's all it took. The police were called and told me it was a ''cvivil thing'' and they could not get involved. My guess is this parking business shares their ill-gotten gains with the owner of the restaurant. Living nearby, I finally tried Acapulco, near 1:PM one afternoon, not too many customers at the time. I kinda thought that there might be the remnants of a lunch crowd still in there at that time of day, but that was not the case; just a couple of other customers. Hmmmm ... The Good: The waitress was fairly attentive, perky, working hard, and friendly. The Bad: Although I was impressed by the waitress' work ethic, she didn't get the order right, even after asking a second time: "I'll have the chicken enchilada," I ordered. "Beef?" she asked. "No, chicken," I replied. So, what did I get? Beef. Annoying, but I didn't make a fuss. It's not worth the exertion. The meal, a combo plate, was just okay ... not great ... nothing to rave about ... not much different than what you might find at any other run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant in these parts. The refried beans served on the plate were hardly identifiable as beans ... more like bean slush, not particularly tasty, and not very hot. Rice is difficult to screw-up. So, the rice was okay but it too could have been hotter. Also, with so few customers, I thought it took just a wee bit too long to serve the meal, but I was happily munching on tortilla chips in the meantime, which is how I came to notice "the ugly". The Ugly: This place is about two, maybe three years past a deep cleaning. The walls are discolored from, well, er um, something. Cooking oils? I dunno. The carpet was an ugly deep brown to begin with. Now, it is an ugly dirty deep brown, badly in need of a cleaning. Or, better yet, time to replace the carpet. I'm just sayin'. The fairly ornate, Mexican motif (for lack of a better way of describing it) paint job is dirty and worn, especially in high-traffic areas (near the cash register, for example). Although I asked twice, nobody seemed to know the password for the WiFi. "Try this." "Try that." "I'll ask so-n-so, maybe she knows." The WiFi is there, but it cannot be accessed without a password. Frustrating. I got the feeling that the "glory days" of Acapulco Mexican Restaurant are long gone and, alas, there is absolutely nothing compelling me to return. My husband and I used to love to come here for their sampler. It was huge and came with a variety of tasty tidbits. The last few times we've frequented the establishment, we've found the sampler to be lacking. Now it mostly consists of reheated frozen foods. We counted-- 3 servers, a hostess, a busboy, and a bartender-- and together they couldn't handle the 12 tables that were in the restaurant. We were there for 20 minutes before we even ordered our food and drinks, and there for 45 minutes before our food showed up. The place is not big and 3 servers couldn't handle it. No idea why. This is a very family friendly restaurant with a good Spanish atmosphere. They are very quick with you drinks and order taking. The bringing of the food was a little slower but when received the food was fantastic. Cooked to order and very plentiful. Would recommend this to any family looking for a sit down dinner read more
