These are solid-average donuts, certainly an improvement on the Winchell's that was here before, and right near work too! We get these every now and then, and though I prefer the cake ones to the glazed, there are always several that I'm fine with having. Good variety of donuts available, it's easy to get in and out of the parking lot area, and it's good to have them at this location because there's not a lot else happening on this part of Peoria. Okay so this place closes at 8pm on Sunday.. we walked in here at 6:15PM expecting to get some older donuts cause it was the end of the night. As we walked in we could smell fresh donuts and he was filling the case a little under 2 hours before he closed with fresh donuts. Like literally they were still warm. They were carful and didn't put to many in one box cause they were so fresh he didn't want them to smash. The donut was flaky but what stood out was the frosting. It didn't tickle the back of my throat which probably means they use high quality frosting recipes. This place gets my approval, just to be filling your case when most people would just let the old donuts ride and start closing shows that they care about quality of what they sell. The man behind the counter offered to fill an unfilled donut for me. I asked about a glazed long john, wether it was glazed. The counterman said, no but I could fill it for you quickly. City Donuts' donuts are DELICIOUS! Their glazed donuts never fail to hit that donut craving! Light, fluffy and not overly sweet! They have a number of other choices that are fantastic as well! Can't go wrong with a twist or donut holes! They are also open past 11 or 12 like other donut shops which is awesome because I tend to skip breakfast and crave donuts at the most random times! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's open late so I tend to go there at weird hours and their "specialty" (anything other than glazed) are not so fresh. I got a cinnamon roll the other day and it was a little hard for my liking. read more

Love their doughnuts! (I'm not really into doughnuts that much usually.) Opens at 6am, all day into the evening. I like apple fritters, bearclaws, cin. Rolls, fried doughnuts, everything's great. They also have breakfast burritos in the morning that are awesome. read more

Clean, friendly staff, great donuts. The selection was amazing and everything we got wash fresh and delicious. The price was about what you'd expect for a dozen donuts, lower than the themed places but more expensive than grocery store donuts. They didn't bother with any novelty donuts, which I appreciate. Came here around 9:30AM on a Saturday morning. There was no line, so it was nice to be able to go in and grab a dozen! The employee seemed a little annoyed, because we were asking what each doughnut was (only because there was no menu). The blueberry was great and so was the chocolate and coconut! Picked up donuts from here last Saturday to satisfy a sweet craving. I have to say that the main thing that keeps me coming back is the customer service. I have never met such happy people that have so much patience and a huge smile on their face. I never feel pressured to make my selections quickly and let's face it... we want to make sure we are getting a variety. As far as the taste go I cannot stress enough how the time of day you choose to go and purchase your donuts, will have an effect on the taste and texture. I have purchased donuts at the butt crack of dawn from here and they are so fluffy and taste like a bite of heaven. I have gone at 4 pm and they are still delicious just not as fluffy. Keep that in mind you can't really expect a fresh fluffy donut at 5 pm. read more

I am new to Denver having moved here from North Carolina. I love donuts. Stopped by City Donuts on Peoria Street in Aurora almost by accident. Have returned several times since. Found the selection of available donuts to be huge. Have tried several and all have been extremely fresh and, well, delightful. Tim has been the person behind the counter each time. He makes one feel extremely welcome. He is helpful, responsive and probably has the best customer service orientation and sales skills I have ever encountered. People selling big ticket items could learn a lot from him. I wish City Donuts and Tim the best. They deserve it! read more

Best donuts in Denver. Old fashioned glazed and old fashioned maple are the two best the offer but maple are rare. Kind and friendly staff make this feel like the small family shop it is. The location is convenient if you and work in Aurora. Although it is located in a bit of a high traffic area, it is no where nearly as busy as say VooDoo donuts. I strongly recommend this shop to anyone who visits Denver or is a resident. read more

Went late in the afternoon and there were still a lot of varieties to choose from. I got the apple fritter and a cherry donut Both were delicious. Lots of apple in the fritter and the donut was cooked perfectly, a slight crunch on the outside and soft in the inside. I'll be back! read more
