The only thing I always get here is the shrimp salad which has avocado, bacon, and shrimp it in with romaine lettuce and their fit breakfast which is pre-frozen, but then grilled scrambled egg patties and sausage patties. I am pretty sure the sausage patties are frozen too. :( The breakfast is $3.50 without any carbs so I was going there a lot, but now that I know it's frozen, I'm not as thrilled. However, I still go back for their salad constantly If I was doing carbs, I would so try their pretzel bread sandwich.

    bug in my food

Came in after running into the bank today. Never been, smelled good. Ordered an iced mocha and a turkey sandwich. Brought it back to my office, ate half and when I was going to eat the second half I went to remove some of the excessive lettuce and found a sizable bug! I'm not the type of person to take to yelp before I try to resolve the problem directly with the owner first. So I called. I used cash for my transaction so I wasn't looking for a refund, I really just wanted to inform them of my incident. They offered for me to come back and they would remake it, which I declined... I really had lost not only my appetite but my trust that this is a clean cafe. I told them that they could refund my co worker who paid for a salad with a credit card since she was so grossed out that she threw her food away too. They agreed and asked me to send a photo to their email. I sent the photo and the owner called me. The owner was defensive, unprofessional and at one point attempted to tell me to complain to their produce company, NOT THEM. Are you kidding me? This is when I began to raise my voice, prompting her to talk over me and scoff multiple times. She told me she wasn't going to refund my co worker because they used different lettuce for her salad than the lettuce I found the bug in. I couldn't believe it. After arguing a bit more she agreed to refund my co workers card for the amount of my sandwhich (not the amount of her salad...$2 difference mind you...also wasnt asking for a refund for BOTH meals). She then hung up on me. She called me back within 1 minute and told me that she was not going to refund the card and that I needed to come in to collect my $10. I explained I work far away and was not going to go out of my way for $10. She insisted she wants to "meet me", I dont know if this was some weird threat or what she meant by that but I declined. She laughed and talked over me until I eventually hung up on her. I cannot believe the unprofessionalism I experienced with this woman. If she truly is the owner I would be shocked.

Roast beef sandwich and tomato soup from City Kitchen... stingy with the roast beef, generous with the lettuce!! *Heavy sigh*

I figured I'd give the recommendation a try, and I'm so glad I did. From the outside, it's in a pretty nondescript industrial area, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But once you walk in, it feels like you've discovered a hidden neighborhood gem. The café has a relaxed, beachy vibe with a cozy, homey atmosphere. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor tables, and I noticed a lot of people enjoying breakfast, catching up with friends, or working on their laptops. I ordered the American breakfast with eggs, kale salad, sourdough toast with butter and jam, avocado, and tomatoes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I also had a black coffee and one of their Bluey's coconut waters, which was a nice addition to the meal. One thing I really appreciated was the location. Even though it's tucked away from the busy streets, there's plenty of parking, it's peaceful, and you don't feel rushed. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy your meal. Overall, this was a 10 out of 10 experience. Great food, great atmosphere, easy parking, and a place I'd happily come back to. If you're looking for a fantastic breakfast or brunch on the Westside, especially if you're coming from LAX, Bluey's Cafe is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommended!

Got the Pedro Burrito & a hot latte…read more It ended up being 24 dollars, and 29 something once I added the tip. To be fair, the ingredients were fresh - but the execution was lacking. For the latte, it was rather milky - and it didn't taste that strong. As I said, I had it hot, and it seemed rather lukewarm - if anything. Extremely foamy, and didn't seem to taste like maple - even though that was the syrup used. The oatmilk was a great substitute, but something seemed to be missing from the drink. Truth be told, I'm a huge coffee snob. Being in LA, you come across so many coffee spots - and I'll admit that I am picky when it comes to my caffeine. The service was great, and quick. I didn't have a problem with that. The water more so a self service situation, which I didn't mind. Lastly, the shining jewel - the burrito. Which, in all truthfulness, was the most disappointing. The reason I'm still giving it three stars is because the flavors within the burrito were bold, and similar to how I remembered it when I last got it. However, one side of the burrito wasn't grilled - leaving the rest of the tortilla ending up rather gummy. Loved the pickled onions. It added such a needed sharp taste to help balance out each bite. Sadly, they didn't offer the little sauce they typically serve this burrito with. Unfortunately, the food was so underwhelming and a downgrade from when I last went that it is now joining my graveyard of spots in LA that simply aren't worth a repeat visit anymore. Heartbreaking conclusion.

Came for lunch one day, and we tried the brand new hot honey chicken plate that they just released and it was SO GOOD. I was not expecting it to be that fire but I highly recommend getting this while you can!! It doesn't really taste like hot honey at all; it's more like a fall harvest vibe because it has sweet potatoes and a quinoa and coleslaw situation. Regardless, it was so delicious and filling. I added spinach for extra green and I think it would be even better if you added broccoli too. Pretty expensive though ($18ish) which is sad but as expected from sweetgreen. They had plenty of outdoor seating at this location. The tables were pretty dirty but we wiped them down with napkins so it was fine.

It's consistently good and the service is always friendly and parking is always easy. Inside is pretty large with plenty of booth sitting as well as tables. The almond croissant has a generous helping of almonds and features a nice, crispy exterior and light, fluffy interior. My excited nibbles sent them bread shards soaring through the air!
