I live and work very close by so this place has become a frequent haunt for me for both breakfast and lunch. It's consistently good and the service is always friendly and parking is always easy. Inside is pretty large with plenty of booth sitting as well as tables. Their menu is also pretty big and one of my favorite things is that they have a revolving specials board that seems to change fairly often. Pricing is fair and the portion sizes are large. Also, every time I stop in the food is ready extremely fast so it's a great option if you are ever in a rush. I've been for breakfast and lunch and one of my favorite breakfast options is the build your own omelette and I always choose chorizo and avocado, and then mix it up from there. For this most recent lunch visit, I tried one of their specials which was the green chili enchiladas and thought they were fantastic. I think this is a quant little cafe with plenty of seating and excellent service. They also have a good tuna melt and burger. Love their fries. I was planning to meet a friend at Lazy Daisy, and I arrived a little early. Since Lazy Daisy and the business next door, Brentwood Greens, share the same parking lot, I parked in the back and went next door to pick up an order before meeting my friend at the café. The back door to Brentwood Greens was locked, while the Lazy Daisy door was open, so I walked through the back entrance of Lazy Daisy, through the café, and out the front. Nobody stopped me or said anything to me. After picking up my order next door, I walked back toward Lazy Daisy because I was going to get a table and wait for my friend. The employee who had been working there saw me, and instead of simply letting me know that customers weren't supposed to use that entrance as a walkthrough, he came over and yelled at me in front of other people. He told me that the area was "only for us" and that I needed to walk all the way around. There was also no sign anywhere in the back parking lot or on the door indicating that the entrance was for employees only or that customers weren't allowed to walk through. I completely understand being asked not to walk through a business if that's their policy. What I don't understand is why I was yelled at and spoken to so abrasively, especially when nobody had said anything to me the first time I walked through. The interaction was so uncomfortable and embarrassing that I immediately called my friend and told her that we were definitely not eating here. There are polite ways to communicate a policy to a customer, and this was absolutely not one of them. I was genuinely planning on getting a table and spending money here, but after being treated like that, I took my business elsewhere. The way you speak to people matters. read more

I dropped by with a friend to grab some breakfast around 8am on a Wednesday, while waiting for another friend, and we had no regrets. We got there as soon as they opened, so we had plenty of seating options. First, service was quick, helpful, and sweet! We were checked on often, and we didn't really have to wait at all. Our server brought us what we needed, sometimes even before we had to ask! This was definitely some of the speediest and thoughtful service I've had. :) Next, the food! I had the Lazy Daisy Breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, and french toast. Visually, it was cute! The eggs were pretty standard, but the sausage was cut and cooked in such a way that the cut sides were a little crispy. The ratio of egg to sausage was perfect. This was a really solid meal! I was only hoping for a small breakfast, so I had set aside the french toast for a friend, who thought it was solid - nothing crazy, but good. I also got a honey latte with soy milk, and while it wasn't specialty-coffee-shop-great, it definitely had enough caffeine to keep me awake, and I definitely finished the entire thing anyway. Just don't expect their coffee to be the highlight of your meal! Overall, this was a great spot for breakfast in this area! Honestly, the service is really what takes this spot from a 4 to a 5 for me. We had no regrets, and I can definitely see myself coming back for breakfast the next time I need to wait in the area. :) Note: I can't speak to the acai bowl much because I didn't try it, but my friend and I were both shocked by how generous the portion was. Always one of my favorite brunch spots! The couple that runs this place is amazing, they move tables around to make everyone comfortable and they check in frequently throughout the meal. They're also just really kind genuine people to talk to, if you can catch them at a not-busy time. The food is made like my grandma would make for me, and is comforting, simple and delicious! Also, if you're having trouble finding parking, the neighborhood nearby has plenty and street parking is usually a breeze. We were seated right away and our waters were always kept full. I got the eggs Benedict with Salmon for $3 extra. The poached eggs were perfectly runny. However, the muffin was soggy and I would've enjoyed the Benedict more if the tomato on it wasn't cut as thick. But overall, the Benedict was good. I got the breakfast burrito, which was a bit soggy, not my preference but I know some people eat their breakfast burrito with a fork and knife, for some reason. The balance inside (I got the chorizo) was well done, I perhaps would have enjoyed the potatoes and peppers inside the burrito, but they were fine on the side. The service was a bit too frequent, they checked on us maybe 8-10 times, I think just once for drinks and once for food plus freshening up drinks is enough. I didn't get the sense that they needed us to give up the table, but the constant checking in on us was a bit off putting. Is it better than being neglected? Totally.
