Sweetgreen is always a good experience in regard to the convenience and taste. If you're looking for something fast and somewhat healthy (use good choices and track what you're getting with each item), then they're a great option forsure. It'll always be expensive though, but you're paying for solid food. At this location specifically in Brentwood, I haven't had any issues and the employees are always really friendly and super helpful, even during busy times. The price is always the downfall, but like with anything, you pay for what you want. My favorite is the miso glazed salmon! read more

Looking at the other reviews, don't know if I just got lucky while dining in but I had no problems with the service or the quality of the bowls here. Came for lunch one day, and we tried the brand new hot honey chicken plate that they just released and it was SO GOOD. I was not expecting it to be that fire but I highly recommend getting this while you can!! It doesn't really taste like hot honey at all; it's more like a fall harvest vibe because it has sweet potatoes and a quinoa and coleslaw situation. Regardless, it was so delicious and filling. I added spinach for extra green and I think it would be even better if you added broccoli too. Pretty expensive though ($18ish) which is sad but as expected from sweetgreen. I've been a long time fan of sweetgreen, but this branch might be the worst. I ordered 2 bowls of salad through doordash (harvest bowl) , for $17 they skimped so much on the portion so much there was like 6-7 pc of chicken in there. I also wished the sweet potato was the baked & crunchy one but it was cold & soggy, regret adding more lol. Still love sg, but might just go with other branch instead of this one. read more

Be prepared: this is another First World Problem Review. This visit is what made me realize all sweetgreens are definitely not on the same page when it comes to charging for certain things. Sometimes I switch it up and make my custom more of a rice bowl, so I obviously want more rice as the base. Normally I am given 2-3 scoops of this and I understand a charge will occur after. However, here in Brentwood was the first time I was charged after the 1st scoop. And yup, at the end, there was an additional .50 for an extra scoop when every other location besides this gives me more at no additional fee. I know it's only .50 but when they are the sole location to do so, something isn't right. Reached out to their customer service and of course, have heard nothing back after my initial outreach.* I've also had issues with their app, so I've long deleted that, but that isn't the problem of this sweetgreen in particular. Don't get me wrong, I do like sweetgreen very much, but I'll be skipping this one from now on. *Customer service did reach out, but it was the typical they would reach out to the team here to let them know they should all be on the same page, etc. I haven't been back since to see if there was an improvement. Came here with two friends on a Saturday around 12-12:30 pm. I parked a block over (there is street parking, but it was full when I arrived) and walked maybe 5 minutes to the restaurant. We ordered the harvest bowl using the app, since it was on sale for $10! There is also a QR code on the restaurant door for $5 off your first app order, but I didn't see it in time, unfortunately. Our food came out before the projected time, and the employees were kind enough to give us bread, even though we forgot to check the box when ordering on the app! Overall, the bowl is pretty filling, though it felt a bit dry, hence 4 stars instead of 5. I did enjoy the combination of ingredients though! This location only offered a pick up option, which was really inconvenient for the time, however the staff were simply nice. I was definitely craving an Elote Bowl and picked up my Elote Bowl!! My bowl included Roasted corn peppers, my favorite!! The heirloom tomatoes, shredded cabbage, cilantro, were delicious. The goat cheese complimented the spicy sunflower seeds, tortilla chips, warm quinoa, arugula, lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. I love Sweetgreen's motto to have locally sourced greens! The grains that they offer is a menu that follows Mother Nature's lead. Their goal is to make a sustainable impact on the future of food. Downloaded the app because my coworker said rewards rack up pretty quickly and pickup is easy. I ordered a limited edition seasonal salad "chicken + brussels" and thought it had very flavorful ingredients. Everything came together beautifully and I've actually never had sweet potato, brussels sprouts, and apples in a single bowl before. Taste is definitely interesting but it works. The total calories added up to less than 420 calories. Overall, very memorable first experience. I'm going again soon and trying the shroomami that everyone is recommending! read more

Saddens me to make such a heavy-handed downgrade, but this is well-deserved. On two separate occasions I ordered my favorite sweet green salad -- the chicken pesto parm-- and the chicken tasted like fish. Their management attempted to reassure me this wasn't the case, but I have an incredibly keen sense of taste, and I'm calling them out. This can be due to a couple of things: 1) The chicken was rancid or improperly stored. 2) The chef reused the oil for seafood for foul or grilled the chicken on the same spot as the chicken such that the spices/taste intermingled. 3) The chef failed to properly clean the skillet, and odd spices fused with the chicken. Either way, this has happened more than once. Not an isolated incident. In order to rid the taste, I had to go somewhere else, but I couldn't get it out of my mouth for a couple hours. It ruined my lunch. This is truly unacceptable. This has never happened at any other location, and there is nothing they can say or do to get me back to this one. Fortunately, when I'm willing to emerge from my sweet green hibernation and brave my favorite dish again, I shall go to the one on Montana -- which is more professional and knows how to maintain their chicken! read more

I honestly wasn't expecting this place to be anymore than just a salad shop. But I was pleasantly surprised by all the flavor and freshness packed into their salads! I had their warm bowl, Shroomami (also vegan, $12.95), which was super filling. The miso sesame ginger dressing was very savory (a slight salty for me, but still tasty). The kale was cut up in small pieces, so it's easy to eat, and also topped with rice, cucumbers, raw beets, and sunflower seeds. The tofu was a little tough to chew, but the roasted portabello mushrooms were good! Overall, a very filling bowl of salad -- I couldn't even finish the whole bowl. I had the barbecue chicken and and squash bowl, it wasn't even half full. For $17 I was not filled, more like a snack. I was surprised they don't have a tip jar for my spare change. It was tasty but the bad part is they put the plastic sauce container inside the bowl and covered it. So the heat melted and deformed the sauce container as shown in my pictures. This is a health and toxicity concern! I pointed it out to the employee and she dismissed it like it was no big deal and said oh that's also because we use eco-friendly packaging. No your sauce container is made out of plastic! It is not biodegradable packaging. It has melted and probably leached some plastic into my food. She threw the sauce away after I told her to show the rest of her staff so they avoid making the same mistake with other customers in the future. She didn't care. For the price and small serving I probably won't come back here. My friend said at other locations they filled up his bowl as much as he wanted. There was water dripping from the ceiling in multiple places especially the area where the greens were. There was a guy about to get up on a ladder to open a ceiling panel to try to figure out where the water was coming from. In the mean time water from the ceiling was dripping all over the food counter where the food was. Who knows where this water was coming from? California pizza kitchen is on top of them--it could have been coming from their bathroom? or an overflowing toilet up there? What was in the dripping water? Instead of telling us to leave, they said there will be a delay in making the salad while this guy on a ladder trys to figure out why there is water dripping all over the food counter. We just walked out. Looks like there is a serious plumbing issue in that building. But the way the employees handled it regarding customers coming through the door was alarming. I usually come here during lunch rush and it's packed but they go through the line so FAST. This is my first time ordering from here but this place continues to be a gem of Brentwood. I've had food from here on different occasions and I have never been disappointed. They use fresh and flavorful ingredients. This concept of place is simple, but the execution isn't. What I mean is that they are able to make salads and bowls cool . There are so many good options to choose from and the dressings are amazing. On this trip I ordered the Fish taco and it was excellent. With toasted steelhead, shredded cabbage, cilantro, tortilla chips, warm quinoa, organic arugula, sweetgreen hot sauce, lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette and a slice of bread at your request. It does not matter that I copied the listed ingredients from their menu, what matters is how good it was. I've had the Shroomami, Curry Chickpea Bowl, Chicken Pesto Parm, Hummus Tahina, and Spicy Thai Salad. What you'll notice is that I have no favorite because so far they've all been so good. I'm a big dude and their bowls are filling. The portion to price ratio is appropriate and they let you modify the bowls on the menu or completely make your own. As I mentioned before, you can order from online but please note that they do not take Cash. Unlike Wu-Tang Clan cash doesn't rule everything around them. You can purchase your orders with debit, credit, their app or purchase a 'Bowl bucks' card to make purchases. The restaurant is clean and I wouldn't be surprised if they took design cues from an Apple store. They have some very good beverages to choose from and no matter what you order you feel like the food is healthy, organic and that they don't short change you with their quality. This is a good place for a casual lunch or dinner. It's fast food with quality ingredients and an example of a good concept. Disgusting. I don't like writing negative reviews, however customers should watch out for cleanliness when purchasing food from here. When you find what looks like a pubic hair in your salad dressing, it makes you want to gag and throw everything out. We took it out n confirmed it was a dark curly thick hair. Yuck. We ordered salads for pick up. Upon opening and taking the dressing containers out, the very first container had a long somewhat curly hair sticking out. Too thick to be an arm hair. Maybe, hopefully, it is the hair from someone's head. Nonetheless, disgusting. How did they miss that and still cap the container instead of throwing it all out like we ended up doing? Also, although the staff were very friendly and courteous, please don't work when you are sick! Call in sick. It's disturbing that a sick person prepared our salads. If your boss didn't let you take the day off.. then yeah, I guess the business deserves to lose customers. We had a good salad from Sweetgreen in Century City. Even though it is further, maybe we'll make the drive there instead. After this experience though, not sure if we want to support Sweetgreen again. I always get the crispy rice bowl from sweetgreen but I do half arugula and half romaine lettuce because I like the crunch! It's more of a salad to me than a bowl because it's more greens than rice, which I like! That being said, it's still always filling and the perfect lunch! The spicy cashew dressing is delicious, and next time I'll be trying their miso ginger dressing which I've heard is also great. They have many healthy bowls and salads on the menu, and their focaccia is also delicious on the side dipped in some of your favorite dressing (mine is the spicy cashew).
