Fresh seafood, but prices are high it seems to me. Store is clean & smells are of fresh seafood & not spoiled. The sales personnel could certainly be friendlier & more welcoming. Purchased Bad Whiting fish Before purchase we ask if the whiting was fresh and was told it was caught yesterday (the day before). We cooked the fish shortly after purchase that day and the fish was NOT FRESH. At $8.99 lb I a customer expected honesty from City Market. We prefer to get local seafood and cook - rather than wait in line for so-so, pricey meals. Super fresh local seafood. We ordered local shrimp and sea bass. Lots of fresh local seafood and other nonlocal options. The price of large local shrimp was $4 cheaper per lb. Than a local touristy gas station/store just down the road. Service was great. You'll be dealing with COVIDIOTS who don't wear masks in the middle of a pandemic. And their shrimp is poorly graded. Expect medium sized while paying for large, for example. One gets what one pays for. No reason to patronize this place. read more

Very nice seafood market in Brunswick. They had good variety of fresh fish and were not trying to present imported fish as local. Shrimp was excellent as was the sea trout. I assume the flounder was good as well - unfortunately missed due to business trip. We really appreciated their willingness to filet our fish for us, which significantly reduced the volume of our order and hence the volume we needed to keep cold. read more

Everyone we asked on St. Simons said this was the best place to buy fresh, local seafood. The day we went they had shrimp, flounder, snapper, trout, crab meat, and a few other fish that I can't remember. They also sell chicken and other meats, and their stuffed chicken looked and sounded delicious, although we did not buy any. It's not far at all from the causeways that lead out to Jekyll or St Simons islands. The store is small but had what we wanted - fresh, Georgia shrimp! The guy also gave us some extra ice for our cooler to make sure our shrimp made it safely home to Atlanta. Will def go back next time we're in town. read more

The strong smell of fish knocks you in the face when you enter the store. No employees wear masks, so you take your chances with Covid-19. There are no prices, so they can charge whatever they please. We asked for our fish to be filleted, and they gutted it and removed the head and tail. Full of bones. I cannot say I bought anything here. When I walked in the door there was a very strong fishy smell. I gave it three stars as a "benefit of the doubt", but I walked out without buying anything. To me a strong smell indicates lack of attention to cleanliness and possibly older product. read more

This was our first time visiting this area, and we wanted to purchase some fresh shrimp. We bought a pound of medium shrimp and a pound of large shrimp. They were so fresh and cooked up wonderfully! The shells came off with ease and the shrimp were very tender. The prices were great for fresh seafood and we will visit this place again when we return to the area. read more

$18 a pound for flounder- pricy and the filet job was the worst I've seen. Filets had bones, fin, skin and fat. I'll stick to Harris Teeter.
