Stopped in here last night at this locally owned St Simons sit-down seafood location for dinner. We arrived around 7pm and were told by the hostess that it would be a 30 minute wait. We opted to wait in the lobby on the benches they provide. While waiting we noted that they have indoor seating, outdoor starting in a screened in porch, and bar seating which is first come first serve. After a short wait, the hostess took us to our table, a two-top covered with butcher block paper. We met our server who was polite and promised us some samples of shrimp (that we never got - but other tables did). Our server did a great job answering questions we had about the menu and even provided some helpful suggestions. Please note, the tables a located close together, so if the table beside you has a loud talker, you can feel like part of their convo. We opted for 2 shrimp dinners (16 shrimp with 2 sides and choice of bread or hush puppies - get the hush puppies). I opted to have my shrimp served fried and broiled with cocktail sauce. For my sides, I ordered the garlic potatoes (roasted potatoes with their garlic butter - like a shrimp boil) and fried okra with a side of ranch. My wife opted for the shrimp dinner with cole slaw (their slaw is closer to a vinegar base with a sweet taste) and the garlic potatoes. We waited a little longer than we expected for our food and we noted that tables that were seated after us got their food before we did. Not sure if it is bc of what we ordered or bc our service was slow When we got out our food, it was well prepared and tasted great. Also, their portion sizes are generous and filing. We went to check this place out based on the Yelp reviews. We had just finished with our very underwhelming tour of Jekyll island, and when we arrived the restaurant was closed for their day shift (closes between 3-4pm) so we waited an hour outside until they reopened. We were the first ones there and received a very warm welcome from the staff (i believe one of the managers). He was very friendly and thanked us for waiting. Service was decent, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't the greatest either. We felt that our server was a little too casual despite the setting we were in - it is understandable that we're not in fine dining, but we're also not in a fast food restaurant. It's kind of a weird in between place. The service we received from the managers were excellent. They stopped by our table every so often and asked how we were doing , and if everything tasted great. It is a cute restaurant and it gets filled up very quickly. The inside dining is very nice and neatly decorated. There was also outside seating. As I mentioned , we were one of the first people to arrive when they restaurant open for the second half of their day and it quickly filled up after that. Oysters were ordered with, I believe "shuck sauce", which was a combo of butter garlic/lemon pepper and cajun seasonings. The sauce was amazing, but it kind of overshadowed the point of ordering oysters. I think I prefer to keep it simple from now on. Their butter garlic sauce is amazing. I ordered 5 blue crabs with it and it was actually a lot to try to eat at 1 sitting, so I ended up taking them home. I ordered a side of Hush Puppies and the Hush Puppies were as the reviews said - delicious! obviously seafood is expensive. Eating out is expensive. I do feel that the price was fair as an occasional dining experience. A new addition to the island! Hurray! I have been to the Brunswick location and was do happy to see them on the island. A nicely decorated space with both indoor and outdoor seating. Don't miss the fish tank and the great pictures on the walls. I had the famous garlic shrimp , potatoes, hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. All was delicious and cooked just right. My waitress was super sweet and took excellent care of me. I will visit this restaurant every time I go to the island! read more

I think my visit might have been a three-star experience if we hadn't been served bad raw oysters. In their defense, I should have spoken up when the oysters tasted off, but the service wasn't great either. Our waters were left empty for long stretches, and being charged extra for cocktail sauce was ultimately the deciding factor in giving two stars. The ambiance was bleak at best, which only added to the disappointment. We had actually tried to come the night before but were told there was a 40-minute wait, so I went into the experience expecting it to be worth coming back for. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I wanted to dine here when we first checked in our Airbnb ,however they are closed on Sundays. I am glad we had an opportunity to dine in for lunch the next day. Their menu has a lot to offer. From salads, appetizers, sandwiches, entrees and more. If you are new the restaurant, they give you samples of their signature garlic butter shrimp. I'm glad they did because it was so good that I ordered it for lunch. They even have great drink menu. Pricing is very reasonable. We ordered: -Dozen raw oysters -Shrimp basket (garlic sauce) w/ battered potatoes -Fish and Shrimp w/ side of coleslaw -2 crab cakes Drinks: -Creature Comforts Tropicalia IPA -Reserve des Marandes Pinot Noir We didn't have to wait long for the food. Omg! The shrimp and crab cakes were amazing! The oysters, were shucked to perfection and fresh. The potatoes were awesome. The batter complimented so well with it! We all had a huge smile on our face including my mom. She loved the crab cakes so much that she ordered an extra to go. I loved the garlic butter so much, I ordered a bottle to take home. Some of the best seafood I have ever had! I came here with a party of 4 on a Tuesday night during the fall and got sat right away, but I imagine this place is very busy in the summer. This place is a great value for all the seafood you are getting. My party of 4 split two shrimp dinners and we were all stuffed at the end, struggling to finish it all. They give you some shrimp to try when you get there which is a nice touch. It helped us figure out what we wanted. We needed up getting 1 shrimp dinners with the shrimp fried, and 1 shrimp dinner with the shrimp broiled. The fried ones were eh, not bad but nothing special. However, the broiled with butter ones were spectacular. If you don't like a TON of butter, you can ask for it on the side. We didn't know about this hack until after and I wish we had done it. Whatever you get here, you have to try the hush puppies!! The best hush puppies I've ever had. They also give you a soap bath for your hands after which is a very nice touch, as your hands get really dirty from all the butter. read more

We wanted to dine here on Sunday night but they were closed so we went Monday for lunch. Veronica, our server, was incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm doing this review for two different visits. The first time my wife and I went especially for the blue crabs which I have been dying to try since I haven't had them in a long time. I got the six crab feast which were smothered in butter and seasoning and my wife got fried catfish. We also arrived during happy hour where they have good drink and food specials. We ordered half a pound of steamed shrimp which came out fabulous. We enjoyed our visit and were satisfied. The second visit, we took my wife's parents during a short visit to SSI. We ordered the fried flounder platter, the catfish platter, the eight crab feast, and a side of Whiting. Everything was great. This time when I ordered the crabs, I did not have them covered with butter and chose to have it on the side. In comparing both visits, I would definitely order the crabs spicy with the butter on them. I think they were a lot more enjoyable than the crabs without. The only issue I had with the second visit was that the steamed shrimps were pretty difficult to peel. I don't know if they were a little overcooked, but it shouldn't be that hard to peel. Other than that, both were good dining experiences. I'm not real big on fried fish/seafood, however, I would definitely return for the crabs and the low country boil which is always great as a side. read more

Went today 12/8/25 to have lunch on my wife's birthday! She had the Whiting & Shrimp lunch combo w/potatoes in spicy butter which she said was excellent! I had the garlic oysters with cole claw & fries. The oysters were cooked perfectly and served on top of a garlic butter sauce with the 2 sides in separate dishes. The folks are always friendly and provide very good service. As an FYI, they are in the process of enclosing the front patio which will be a great addition to this cool spot in the Pier Village area off of Ocean Blvd. As I said before in my prior review, you need to find time to check this place out. The OK: My smaller kids had chicken tenders which were just frozen and fried so if you're a chicken tenders person, you could get the same thing cheaper elsewhere. My older child had wings and they were dry and seemed old. The not so great: The service is lacking a bit. I asked for a water and was brought a sweet tea. I noticed other tables got bibs and a trash can for their LCB feasts but I had to wait and ask. I had to ask a different server for ketchup. I asked for change back ($20+) in $5s for tipping and was given.. a $20 instead after the waitress acknowledged this request? Unfortunate really. Their website only points to the Brusnwick location, leaving us confused whether the St. Simons location was even operational, and once we'd double-checked it was and called in our order, we were incorrectly told when arriving to pick up the food that we'd called and ordered the Brunswick location instead, before they found our order where it was supposed to be. As said before, however, the food was great. I had blackened shrimp with a side of fried green tomatoes, and another member of my group had the catfish basket with fried okra. We have eaten here several times and have had 2 large family dinners here and every time is fantastic. We had 11 people on Dec 23rd and it was delicious. The service was great and the seafood is fresh and great. Their fish (red and catfish) were both cooked perfectly. The crab and shrimp were awesome as well. Dined here tonight for the first time, really wanted to enjoy some good seafood on vacation. They were very busy , which was to be expected for a holiday weekend. Got sat around 6:50 possibly 7pm, ordered then proceeded to wait for over an hour for food. The entire time we waited we were never talked to again by our server, no check in, no drink refills, even just a heads up that the kitchen was backed up would've been greatly appreciated but didn't happen. After waiting about 45 minutes for food with nothing and our server CC never once approached our table I flagged down another server, a blonde guy, tried to order an appetizer because our kids were hungry, but was told I couldn't because the kitchen was too busy and was talked down to like I don't understand a busy restaurant. I've been a chef for over 25 years I know what busy is. The restaurant was half empty while we waited but then a 17 top got sat and within 25 minutes had food. Didn't get and at wipes or anything at the end of the meal to clean up with and the server sighed at me when I asked for paper towels to wipe our hands. Food was very overpriced for the portion sizes. A $100 seafood platter shouldn't come on a tray the size of a regular dinner plate and brag that it serves 2-3 adults when it wasnt enough for two adults and two kids one of which can't even eat shrimp. It was an all around bad experience, and a huge waste of time and money. Very disappointed that we paid $150 and all left hungry and let down. read more
