I have visited this print shop all they way back when I was in art school and I had to come here for my design projects. They used to be called Gonluco's and there was a T-Rex that was part of their logo. Now they are City Print. I have recommended this print shop to my illustrator boss and he had been printing his Christmas cards for the past few years. His cards come out really nice: great cardstock, ink is think, lines are printed clean. The price are very reasonable. They outlasted Kinko's and are still hanging on strong. I've known Peter for at least 20 years doing my printing. He is very hardworking and has always does his best to his loyal customers. Since its a operation which he oversees himself, you may have to wait while he answers the phones etc but nevertheless, he does all of his major work for customers who understand and is willing to wait for exceptional work -- more involved than at FedEx Office printers who majority don't take pride in their work since its just a "job" to them but FedEx Office printers will take very small jobs. But Peter will seriously sit down and work hard to achieve what you want or need. Understandably, he has major clients and if he is on a deadline for them, due to the fact that he is the person who has to oversee everything, many smaller jobs will get pushed off for a bit and will need to be put in between the large orders. To make it easy on Peter -- call before to find out what type of format that he can take for you to bring to him so there is no confusion to come back because you bought the wrong format for him to work with since his printing machines take a certain format and type in order to print the job. And make sure that you let him know the quantity since he has a minimum order (no very small orders taken) and charge for running his machines since he has a lot of costs involved in setup and cleaning. read more

DO NOT BE AN IDIOT, LIKE ME, AND ORDER FROM THESE GUYS. DO NOT BE FOOLED. The star rating might be some of their family and friends. I'm going to do everyone a favor and say that this place is run by a extremely rude man who doesn't care about giving any customer service. They might seem nice in the beginning but believe me, they're fake and just want your money. I asked for a few banners to be printed and Peter , the owner, told me it was possible and lured me in with a very appealing price. Upon receiving the banner, I noticed that it wasn't what I asked for. I've called to bring back the banners but he told me he was "too busy" at the moment and told me he would call back. He never did. So I called back the next day and he tells me the same exact thing again. I gave him another chance to call me back and he never did. The next week I went back to the store and I told him the banners didn't come out like the way I requested and I made it absolutely clear the entire order process. He wouldn't admit his faults and literally told me to "LEAVE!". I'm not even joking or exaggerating. I was a bit stunned by his horrible personality and customer service. Believe me I'm as real as real gets. He was straight up rude, dishonest, and had absolutely no respect for anyone who comes in asking for some customer service. Save yourself the trouble, doesn't matter if its slightly more expensive, go somewhere else to give yourself some insurance in case something goes bad with the final result. And if the price is cheaper than this place, you've found gold, my friend. Stay there and don't ever look back. I'm also reporting them to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) for not giving me a discount or a refund on a new banner that needs to be printed. I guess I have a new picnic tablecloth now. read more

I have been going to City Print for several years now, FOUR times a year (at least) to print sales materials for my contemporary women's line. Beautiful lookbooks with high end photography and binding needs - and I'm always rushing. EVERY SINGLE TIME Peter comes though with high quality, speed and great service. EVERY. TIME. Okay. This guy does a really good job of printing... When he wants to help you. Whenever I have come into the store, he always tells me to come back tomorrow. I even called on the phone today and asked "can you do 75 prints before you close tonight?" and he said yes. But then I come in, maybe 15 minutes later, and he says he is too busy to do the job. And, if I wanted to leave my USB drive he could do them later... In a few days. A few days for 75 black and white copies? Really? read more

This place finally drove me to write my first Yelp review. I work down the street from this place and needed 1,500 business cards printed. Naturally I looked on Yelp and located 3 businesses nearby that do business cards so I could handle the order in person. A few days before walking in I called and was essentially told by a man to 'call back later I'm busy now'. When I arrived in person a girl working there, she looked like the owners daughter, approached me with a scowl on her face. I said I needed business cards ordered and showed her my printed list of specs. She said 'I need the file' and I explained I had made a PDF file from Adobe InDesign and mentioned the formatting. She didn't care - she would not discuss anything without a file. 'We're a commercial printing company!' she said, 'you just don't get it'. She then walked away. I asked her if she wanted my business and she got very angry. 'Take your business elsewhere' was her answer, literally. If there was a minimum order since they are a 'commercial printing' company, she never told me it. My point was that yes, I can get you the file -- tell me if I should email or bring a thumb drive, etc. I was shocked, thus my first Yelp review. I'm surprised they are still in business and I told them that. The man then instructed her and the other employees to ignore me. It was quite an amusing experience and I only had to walk a few blocks to find 2 other print shops with great customer service. As many of the reviews have noted - make your life easy and go somewhere where people with self-awareness are employed. I'm giving them a 2 because I can't judge their print quality - their customer service is a ZERO. read more

I dropped by this place to get a single photograph from my aunt and uncle's 1961 honeymoon printed - all their other photos were destroyed in a fire so this one is very precious. I was assigned a guy called CAESAR, remember that name. He rushed through the process on his desktop, pretty much ignoring my questions about sizing, cropping etc. He then printed out the picture. The quality looked fine but there was faint line running though it. He tried a couple of more times, then told me that the machine needed "reformatting", could I come back tomorrow? As I live nearby it wasn't a problem so I agreed. When I turned up the next day he had printed it out and it looked great. So I asked for another print, cropped to a different shape, to give my uncle and aunt a choice. Wow, it was like I asked for the earth. With lots of heavy sighs he brusquely reformatted the picture and printed it. But the color saturation was completely different to the first one. When I pointed this out he snapped "That's because it's on another machine". So I asked if he could adjust it, or use the original machine. "I'm very busy, I don't have time for this" he said "I charge $60 an hour, do you want to pay that?" "No" I replied, "I just want my photos looking same way, is that too much to ask?" He then brushed me off and told me to come back again tomorrow, he was just too busy to deal with this. So I left, never to return. Avoid this place, above all avoid the guy called CAESAR - he's rude and unprofessional and has no concept of customer service. There's plenty of print shops out there to choose from, so why go to this one? read more

Both the 5 star reviews and the 1 star reviews are kind of right here. Peter is a true workaholic. He accepts seemingly every job, large or small, and as a result he spreads himself too thin. So yes, he may make you wait 20 minutes before he'll talk to you. He may tell you he'll have your stuff done today, then call you later with the news that it will be tomorrow. He will be brusque. But he won't cheat you, and he won't forget about you. If you are flexible with your schedule, and you come prepared (i.e. you bring a flash drive with your project in virtually every file format, just in case), Peter's printing is a dream. Extremely high quality at extremely affordable prices. Over the years I've had him print everything from a small stack of posters to hundreds of full-color, well-bound children's books. He does it all, and I've never been dissatisfied with the results. For Peter is not just a workaholic, he's a perfectionist. read more

Pete accommodated a last-minute rush without compromising an ounce quality. I initially ordered cards online, but they didn't ship in time. I called City Print after reading the reviews here, sent them the file via e-mail and had the cards in my hands four hours later. I've been taking jobs to Tuan at City Print for over 20 years. This is a full service shop with very quick turnaround. They've completed: 1/ 4-color printing, including shepherding me through my first project 20 years ago, explaining the "Rich Black" concept for deep blacks on cmyk jobs. 2/ Custom envelopes, printed and color copied, with embossed logos and lettering 3/ Large-format posters, full-color and black and white, with lamination 4/ Folding, saddle-stitching, trimming brochures, programs 5/ Full-color business cards I am not family but over the years do consider myself a friend of Tuan since he has shown a lot of consideration and willingness to go the extra mile to complete my jobs accurately and on time. That doesn't mean there haven't been a few problems along the way; no one is perfect. But again, his desire to make things right and on time is very impressive. I have experienced NOTHING like the one-star reviewers here who seem like they have some kind of axe to grind with their over-the-top emotional pieces. read more
