This place is great! The slice is huge, lots of variety of types of slices, salad, drink, cookie for $12 and couldn't finish it all. Cookies for later. We got a margarita slice and a meat lovers slice. Salad, drink, and cookie. Very good. The slice is thin, I like thin. And lots of toppings. Salad decent. I'll have to let you know on the cookie. It looks good. Place is fun. Ice cream parlor and little arcade. Can fit about 25 people. Prices good. Ice cream was closed but the flavors seemed fun and prices were good as well. Oh and staff is super nice and helpful! I'm going to go back! Love it!

I took a small group with me to try this place out. The prices are reasonable, the pizza is really good (New York style and we also ordered the Mega which was huge!), the staff is all super friendly, and it has a small amount of arcade games to keep you busy while you wait for your food. The parking is all free street parking but we went on a Saturday and we're able to find a spot. We had a party of 6 and took up a good section of the seating but we didn't feel cramped or anything. Great place and I would definitely go back again if in the area.

Really good New York style thin crust pizza very large portions. I've eaten here twice and really enjoy it. I tried the garlic knots for the first time and I must say they're pretty huge. Also eat them while they're hot. They're much better hot than they are cold.

Just tried my first City Slice on recommendation from my neighborhood FB group. Does. Not. Disappoint. You really don't get a feel for how huge the pies and slices are until you're in person. I got 1 slice of pepperoni and it was excellent. Thin but sturdy crust, excellent ratio of cheese to sauce, lots of pep. A little greasy, like it should be. I can't wait to try the cherry pepper pie and an antipasto salad. I was delighted at the decor too. Nice and clean- bright and welcoming. I love the artwork. The ice cream parlor/ arcade/ dining room has ample space and looks like a great place to dine. Service was quick and friendly. City Slice is here to stay.

You won't find a better deal on a filling meal than City Slice. A cheese slice bigger (way bigger) than your head currently costs a mere $5. Pepperoni or pepperoni & sausage cost just a bit more. And it's really good pizza! Good crust, good sauce, good cheese, good meat. Good, good, good! Don't expect to be in an out in a minute here, even if you order a slice, because they reheat the slice to roof-of-the-mouth-burning perfection. So don't grab your reheated slice and take a huge bite. Wait a minute and then stuff your face. Our party of five ate in and two of us enjoyed the arcade games. There is an attached ice cream place that appeared not to be open - but we were too full for ice cream so I'm not positive. I had never heard of Malta Goya (a type of pop), so of course I had to try it. It was interesting - tasted like slightly fizzy molasses water. I didn't love it at first, but it grew on me to the point where I'll order it again when we go back. I read that City Slice is thinking of opening a second location in Old Brooklyn, and I hope that's true, because that's where we're located. In the meantime, a 15 minute drive is totally worth it.

I'm a big fan of a New York style slice of pie, and for us this spot delivered. Came in on a recent weekend afternoon for a quick bite in between shopping trip stops. The crew behind the counter was hard at work making both full pies and slinging individual slices as well. My wife and I ordered two slices...one plain (gotta try the "real deal" to see how legit they are) and a sausage. Pricing is extremely reasonable and the slices are the size of, well, just look at the pictures! They throw our two gargantuan slices in the pizza oven (a pretty standard practice) to heat and crisp them up. As expected, total roof-of-mouth meltage on that first bite. Yowsers! As for the taste...pretty spot on I'd say. Crust was easily foldable, sauce slightly tangy and sweet and that ooey-gooey cheese you'd expect. We're fans and we'll definitely be back. Hauling in one of their jumbo pies to a party would surely be a hit as well...will be doing that sometime in the near future. Keep up the good work, team!

For the last two years, I have been searching for the best pizza in Cleveland. Well, if you agree that the best slice is NYC style, City Slice has got you covered. We grabbed a pepperoni and plain cheese slice. They're massive portions and on the cheesier side. Crust holds up well. We also ordered the garlic knots, but I suggest passing on those. The texture was off and there wasn't enough garlic. Nice space to hang out. Plenty of seating with an arcade/ice cream shop extension.

This is a new place I heard about from coworkers. Apparently it opened in February 2022, so it's brand new. They advertise New York Style. Usually I get disappointed because it's rarely truly authentic. This was a great surprise! Very authentic, and the prices are great. Two mega slices (a 30-inch pie!) and two drinks cost a total of $10.50! It's a small space now but I heard the owner explaining to another customer that they are knocking out a wall and expanding, plus they have a patio going in, so should be quite nice! This place is now on my once-a-week lunch route!

This place has been on my pizza to do list for a few months. If you're looking for true NYC style pizza this is the OLNY place in Northeast Ohio that does it right. The name says it all, City Slice! Giant slices. And I mean huge! For $5 or $6 bucks you will not leave hungry. The arcade is cool. Would be a great place for families looking for a good time with a wow factor. The only reason it's not five stars is that our slices were slightly over reheated. So there was a some char but overall a great pizza slice. Friendly staff. Very clean (somebody's always cleaning). I will absolutely be back or order a full pie to go. You always lose a little something when you reheat pizza, so a full pie to order may be the way to go. read more

I'd like to add, the best part about the slice is the first 1/3 and the last 1/3. Since it's so big, the middle 1/3 gets a big floppy and soggy. But the beginning and end make up for it! read more

I heard their was a place in Cleveland that made pizza like NY and when I finally got to try it out, it did not disappoint. The slices were huge. They put it in the oven to heat up just like NY!! When your from NY your used to the best Pizza. So when you move it's hard to find until now. This Pizza is by far the only Pizza I have come across that taste just like the Pizza back home in NY and I've been searching since I moved from NY to FL to now Cleveland. It's Perfect! Just tried it. This is legit NYC pizza! Growing up in the Bronx, I know my pizza and was sad when Vincenza's closed. I would say that City Slice was even better and very close to my benchmark pizza slice from the long gone, but not forgotten Famous Ray's pizza in Greenwich Village! read more

This is the closest thing to NYC style pizza other than being in NYC. It's a modern day old school pizzeria joint, with arcade games and all, the best part it's affordable! A slice is the size of a small pizza for $5 bucks! The crust is thin, foldable, with perfect chew, and you can get what you want on it. Loaded with cheese, and it has a good sauce, not sweet, or spicy, it compliments it perfectly. If you dine in, you can order one of these super sized pizzas. It's got to be 28" inches. They've got an 18" pizza for carry out and delivery, which is just as good, but the slice from the counter reminds me of Famous Ray's. Check it out. read more

Went on the recommendation of a friend. I've been to New York and the boroughs and Long Island. And I've had some really good slices. This place is a solid three. Nice toppings, sauce a bit bland. Also the crust was not flavorful at all. Basically a carrier for the toppings and bland sauce. The owners are very nice, and the location is nice. Inside is very open and comfortable. I know the owners also on Cleveland Mofongo and that place is awesome. They just need to spice up the sauce and work on the crust. I will go back in a few Months to see if the slices have improved. read more

Awesome atmosphere! The main guy in charge of the pizza is so friendly and welcoming. The pizza is OK, depends on your pizza preference so everyone is different! I wish the sauce had a little more sweetness to it as it was tangy and the cheese with less grease. We got the Mega Pizza and it was dripping grease! Also wish the crust was a little crispier as it did not hold well at all. Overall, we had a fun experience with the arcade and good vibes. read more

I was excited about the New York style but I was disappointed with the taste and texture of the crust. Definitely not true New York pizza it looks kinda familiar but not it. My true test of East coast pizza is the way the crust is the next day and unfortunately it was tough and not pleasant. Super friendly staff, huge slices and a cool restaurant with an arcade attached. We ordered 2 meals (1 slice, salad, cookie and a can soda) for $11each and we had leftover salad and cookies. We got 1 pepperoni slice and 1 of their special which was Buffalo with bacon and onions. Both were delicious with good quality ingredients. The pies are big and the toppings are all pretty solid. Ordered 4 pies for a party of 8 people and we had a TON leftover. That being said, it was $90, so not exactly cheap pizza. Overall decent, but I will say that within maybe an hour of picking it up, the crust was rock hard. Like, snapping and cracking and rough on your teeth kinda thing. I'd recommend ordering less pizza and eating it all immediately. Does not reheat well or make great leftovers. I see lots of 5 star reviews, so maybe my expectations are just a little too high, but for the price I probably won't get it again. read more

Not bad. $25 buck for their large cherry pepper pie. 19 inches across. Pie was cold when I got it. I got there at 30 min. after order placed which was when they said to be there. The thin box does nothing to keep the pie hot or warm. Decent tasting when I heated up some in my oven. Get there early so as to beat the pie being done before you're there to pick it up so it's hot. Ya gotta try this if you like new york style, can't beat the prices. Capri pizza ($40 for a 19" pie) in Middleburgh does it better . . . but CS has the Best price by far. Bring quarters to play arcade games while waiting for your pie! read more

We ordered a regular pepperoni pizza and the white Neapolitan style pizza. It wouldn't let me add pineapple to my pizza online, which was fine because it didn't need it, the pizza was so good! My boyfriend loved his pepperoni pizza and I also enjoyed my Neapolitan style white pizza. It had a great garlicky flavor and was crispy on the crust. Will definitely be back to try the margarita pizza next! So if you're looking for a great pizza with hospitality I recommend coming to Joe De's!

If you check out my reviews, you'll see that I've sampled pizzas in more than one state and more than one country, including Italy. I've sampled many types of crusts and sauces. While the crust here is fine (not the best), the sauce is repulsive. My daughter said "Dad, this area is heavily populated with people from Eastern Bloc countries," to which I responded "If they like their pizza sweet, so be it. But I certainly don't." I understand that there are plenty of pizza styles, including the Greek version, which includes cinnamon on occasion. Yuck. This place is called Napoleon's Pizza, and they claim to conquer pretty much everything, from your pizza craving to the whole town of Parma. Indeed, Napoleon was an Italian dude who was born in France. His conquering skills were excellent, until his greed resulted in the deaths of thousands of soldiers who froze to death. All of that to say, I might've named this place Napoli's Pizza (since Napoli is the birthplace of the pizza we know today). But the sweet sauce here is an abomination, so maybe 'Napolean's' is more appropriate after all.

The only minor criticism -- and honestly not really their fault -- was that the anchovies tasted slightly canned, giving a bit more fishiness than the fresh anchovies commonly used in Italy. The service One of the owners, Annie, felt like the Italian nonna welcoming you into her home. Warm, thoughtful, conversational and constantly making sure everyone was taken care of. That hospitality elevated the entire experience. The atmosphere The restaurant is smaller and lively, so it can get pretty loud, especially on a Saturday night. The music was a tad louder than I personally prefer, but I also think it helps balance out the constant buzz of conversation happening at every table. The wait My friend and I arrived around 6:30 PM on a Saturday and the wait was about an hour and a half -- which is wild for a pizza place, but also says everything about how popular it is. Worth it? If you're craving authentic Italian pizza, absolutely. Overall The food alone makes the noise and wait worthwhile, and the hospitality makes you want to come back. For pizza, we ordered the larger size sausage pie (red sauce, mozzarella, roasted peppers, sautéed onions, garlic and parmesan). Thin crust with a good bite that holds its integrity pretty decently. Overall, this os probably one of the better pizzas in Cleveland.
