I'm going to be honest, if you claim to be "New York inspired" you've got a lot to live up to - and you'd better live up to that hype. Good Pizza does that. My son and I were in town for a concert and walked around. He's a pizza guy and we walked in for the 2 slices and drink for $12 special. It's walkup and order service and they brought it out, hot and ready in just a few minutes. It's a clean, modern environment with plenty of seating. He got a traditional crust margherita pizza while I opted for the Detroit style pepperoni. Both were outstanding. He loved the sweetness of the sauce and the cheese blend. My Detroit style was a little crispier than I like, but it didn't ruin the flavor at all. The small pepperonis curled up and kept that grease right inside (yesss!). New York inspired? In Ohio? I've been watching Charlie's YouTube channel for a while, and I was pretty pumped when he opened a pizzeria right here in Cleveland. The pizza is pretty good. You can tell the ingredients are top notch and that a lot of care is put into it. I highly recommend it. Now the subjective part: this isn't the NY pizza I was looking forward to. It's this newer version that is cooked at higher temps. I want that traditional style where the crust tastes like freshly baked bread and the cheese is over the sauce. What Portnoy calls a "football" pizza. That's what I grew up with, and pretty much no one offers it. And those that do, it's a cheap imitation. Good Pizza delivered in a big way. Had the spicy vodka slice and the pepperoni, and they recommended hot honey on the pepperoni, so I went for it. The honey doesn't overpower the slice at all, it's just the right balance and adds a nice touch without taking over. The vodka slice was good too, but if I'm picking a favorite between the two, the pepperoni edges it out. That's not a knock on the vodka though, the sauce really stands out and the dough is fantastic across the board. Outside of New York, this is honestly the best NY style pizza I've had. Heard about Good Pizza opening a few weeks ago and knew I had to try it, given I love thin crust NYC-style pizza. The shop is bright and welcoming, conveniently located in the middle of East 4th. I'm surprised that they close so early (9pm) even on weekends, especially given that many people frequenting the nearby bars would probably love a good slice of pizza to cap off the night. Maybe the hours will change over the summer?? We'll see! You can order pizza by the slice or a whole pie. They have a decent amount of seating or you can get takeout. I went with a friend and tried two slices, classic margherita and spicy vodka. Both were delicious, but I thought the spicy vodka could be much spicier - it was quite mild! I loved the thin crust that was ever so slightly charred and crisp. The pizza overall was warm, flavorful, and not too greasy! Good Pizza is a great addition to the neighborhood. Downright good NY style slice. From the ashes of Citizen Pie on E 4th rises Good, maybe even Great, Pizza. Things inside are humble, clean, with a bit of zest. I don't feel like I see a cream and citrus color palette much, but it works well and invites a sort of vintage feel. Order at the counter, by the slice or by the pie, and they'll call out your given name when it's ready. If it's not too busy they'll just bring it to you. Grab plates and napkins at the counter, and self serve water as well as parm and red pepper flakes from the station under the bookcase nearby. Canned sodas and beer also available from the grab and go fridge. Our food came out pleasingly fast, as pizzas are constantly cooked and baked. Obviously the star of the show here is pizza, but you can whet your appetite with some of their focaccia bread (cheesy version available too) - and don't forget to get some of their punchy marinara dipping sauce (extra $0.50). I wish the dipping sauce was served warm, but otherwise the perfect accompaniment to the herby bread. We tried the Margherita, White, and Spicy Vodka - the crowd (and staff) favorite was the Spicy Vodka. Something about the spicy yet creamy tomato just makes your taste buds dance. Margherita was also tasty and fresh, and the White Pizza was surprisingly sweet with the inclusion of honey. The crust though! Crispy but not tough, and surprisingly airy. We went back for another round of Spicy Vodka. Unlike a traditional NYC slice shop, there's ample seating inside for you to enjoy your pizza so you don't have to brave the Cleveland elements. Loved our first experience (and seeing a pizza nerd's dream come to life), and certainly will be returning for the Spicy Vodka. read more

I've been waiting to try Good Pizza for some time. I've read the history of fundraising to open the restaurant. Well, they're finally open and I finally got a taste. On this visit, I went with the white pizza and the margharita. Between the two, I'd say the margharita was better. Both pizzas had honey, which I found acceptable. Some people might sqwak at putting honey on pizza, but I liked it. The undercarriage was excellent. The pizza was thin and delicious. I had two slices and a Coke for lunch. We stopped on our way to a Guardians game and we're glad we did! The staff was friendly, it's super clean inside, and smells delicious. You can get pizza by the slice here or a whole pie. We got slices of the pepperoni. It has hot honey and basil leaves on it! The hot honey gave it a slight kick and sweetness and you get punched with that Italian flavor when you bite into the basil. We ordered 4 slices (White, Spicy Vodka, Pepperoni, and Hot Sausage)- but our favorite was White. The flavors were very unique and we appreciated the hot honey flavor throughout all the slices. Just tried their margherita and vodka sauce slices for CLE Pizza Week '25 and was blown away! The slices looked beautiful and tasted even better. Some of the best crust I've had - light, crispy, chewy and moist. The sauces were so flavorful and, importantly, abundant. Nice, simple, sweet red sauce.
