You can't order with Yelp! Read on. We were hungry after a concert back in hotel room and found out they were open late and delivered. I tried ordering through Yelp but said they were closed?! I called to verify if they were open, ended up speaking to manager who politely informed me they aren't set up for Yelp (?) but I could use Uber Eats and another app to order or call it in. I had neither app and had to check with the gals. A friend ordered on Uber eats and we had their Mushroom Madness pie which was delicious, thinner crust but not floppy in the center. Ample toppings and delivery was timely, we waited in lobby until app showed order arrived and went outside to get from driver. We didn't see pie size choices and what arrived was maybe 12-14" pizza with 8 slices, actually just enough for late night snack. I'd say the best things about this place are the ambiance, late hours and low prices. The food is just ok! It's a little small but there's usually open seating and quick service from friendly staff. Another friend of mine had a margherita signature pie and said it was a little lacking but still good. Came here for takeout during both COVID-19 and Cleveland Pizza Week. We ordered a sampling of dishes, to try things other than their pizza...garlic knots, wings, and a margherita pie. The pick-up process was easy and we were quickly on our way home with the goods. On to the food reviews! The margherita pie was just okay; the crust was chewy, cheese was decent but the sauce was rather bland making for a less-than-memorable bite. The garlic knots were really garlic bread twists served with a small cup of marinara sauce. I would have like to see a couple of things here. First, more garlic sauce! These twists were rather dry, so a bath in some oily sauce would have helped matters. Second, the marinara cup was cold! I guess we could have heated it up ourselves when we arrived home, but this came straight from a fridge into our to-go container and the already lukewarm knots did not take well to the chilled sauce. Lastly, the wings. Their wings are fried, and some of them were plump and huge! I like their texture and crunch of these wings, but the garlic parmesan seasoning was also rather bland. I added some of my own hot sauce just to give it something. Overall each dish was average at best, missing any kind of "special sauce / seasoning" to give the food a pop. Not sure it is worth a return visit for us, I am sorry to say. read more

My friend and I were honestly underwhelmed. Given that this place is within walking distance of his new apartment, and that they were open late, we decided to place a take out order. First off, the ordering process was interesting. By phone, the lady took our order but also asked what my first and last name was. I thought that was weird, but then she also said someone else with the same name as mine (yes, last name too) ordered the same thing online. Didn't make any sense to me given that literally no one else has my last name. Anyways, we were quoted 20 minutes. We showed up, and they were wrapping up getting our order together. Took a few minutes. No worries. The lady asked if my name was Justin.. which it was not. She asked what my order was and said she thought I said "Justin". I'm not sure, but their ordering/phone system was just off that night. Not sure if it was technical or employee error. Either way, just a very odd experience. Onto the food. We were both very meh about both the wings and pizza. I guess if you're looking for this specific kind of pizza, then it's okay, but we were hoping for something more. It was a bit too flimsy for us. We also wished the wings were slightly crispier and that there was more sauce on it. They didn't seem very wet at all. Overall, probably wouldn't come here again. Unfortunately, the ratings on this place really gave us high hopes, but the experience and food did not meet those expectations. I've had Pizza Whirl in-person now. It definitely is a bit better in-person though not super memorable. It's the food provider for Bad Tom Smith Brewing, and it's nice to be able to have a bite while you're sampling beers! Because they are located next door, the staff will run it over quickly. It's wood fired pizza, so you can expect the ratio of bread to toppings to be more bread-based. We tried the King Pizza, which was okay for the purposes of a snack with our beer, but at the steeper price point I'm not sure if I'd order it again (particularly on this street, where there's a lot of pizza). Thanks to the helpful staff for bringing the pizza over to the brewery. Okay for a brewery snack, but wouldn't go out of my way to order. I wonder if they have other choices on their menu that are better suited. read more

My friend and I were greeted by smiling faces behind the counter, as we walked in. Fresh dough was made in front of us, a multitude of ingredients to be loaded on the pizza, what more could we have wanted! Looking at their menu, their signature pies ranged from $12 - $15, and we decided up Frank's BBQ pizza. As our first request, we requested to have a bit of red sauce as the base, as we thought the BBQ sauce would have been overpowering as the full base sauce. My friend didn't like onions, so we had onion on my half and sliced grape tomatoes added on the other side. And why not throw in some jumbo wings - make it garlic parm flavored please! The pizza was perfect for 2 people and the garlic parm wings had grated parmesan cheese sprinkled on top! What a different and pleasant surprise! Salena, who cashed our order out, was extremely pleasant to be around and throughout our whole time at Pizza Whirl! Very friendly employees and all the foods are extremely fresh and made upon order. Located at the North end of the W.25th Strip is a small storefront that houses Pizza Whirl and it is well worth seeking out for some very good pizza. Similar in concept to Pizza Fire, the Whirl seems to do the quick fire pizza better. The decor is simple and modern, just a counter where they assemble the pizza with a revolving high temperature oven. While there are a number of options I choose to go with the basic which is the pizza and a single topping for $6.95. Pizzas come in one size only, I went with the spicy tomato sauce, cheese and the roasted peppers. Once they put your pizza together and it goes in the oven for 3-4 minutes and comes out nicely cooked. I was very impressed with the crust, including the nicely charred bits, the center is a bit soft, but that is what happens with the Neapolitan style pizza. The sauce was good, just spicy enough and the cheese was gooey and delicious. The best part of the pizza were the peppers, a mix of chunks of different color peppers that had been fire charred in the oven, they provided contrasting crisp and soft bits with just enough sweetness. Overall Pizza Whirl does a very nice job, by not trying to make a perfect uniform product they provide an nicely individual pizza with character.
