I prayed to god the night before for wise counsel, and the Lord sent it to me via Dr. Miller. I felt bad for taking up so much of his time when there were other families waiting in rooms, but I needed the generous gift of Dr. Miller's time to navigate the difficult choice of ending Apple's life, the compassion he showed me (never abandoning me) while making it. When you enter BluePearl, a triage nurse meets you at the door to sweep your fur baby up, immediately start taking vitals, and get their arms around the situation. They send you to a room to wait. Yes, you wait. But while you're waiting, they are gathering information so that when it comes your time to see the vet, it's not a 5min swoop in and out, they spend time to walk you through observations, gather more details, and help you navigate difficult conversations if end-of-life is required. No vitals were taken for any of the other dogs and the technicians seemed mostly concerned with costs. We would not recommend this "emergency" pet hospital and will not be returning.

He's a puppy who was abused and scared of people and just needed some pets, and comforting. They could not spend 20 minutes to gain his trust, make him feel comfortable, so suggested I SEDATE him for future visits, because they're too lazy to spend 20 minutes with a new patient for their $100 visit. They also prescribed a medicine for deworming, which Amazon sells for $16~ (Panacur-C) they wanted $64! 400% markup? So hard to find a caring and honest vet! I will never go back there.

She called within 45 min of me dropping him off telling me his prognosis! Unfortunately he is on eye drops but within 12 hours you could see his beautiful green eyes again! When attempting to refill our cat's flea and tick medication through Chewy, the prescription request was declined because our cat had not had an annual wellness exam. When I contacted the office to understand the reasoning behind the requirement, I was told that the exam was necessary to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. However, I did not receive a clear explanation of how a routine wellness exam for a healthy, three-year-old cat would impact the decision to approve a medication he has been safely taking for the past three years. Veterinary regulations may require periodic examinations before prescriptions can be authorized, and if that is the case, I would have appreciated a straightforward explanation of that requirement. Instead, the responses I received felt generic and did not address the underlying question of why the exam was necessary in this specific situation. For many families, discretionary spending is carefully evaluated. Requiring an $83 wellness exam solely to authorize a refill of an established flea and tick preventative adds a meaningful expense without a clearly communicated benefit. While I understand the importance of routine preventive care, I believe clients deserve a transparent explanation of the medical or regulatory rationale behind policies that require additional visits and costs. My overall opinion of Riverwalk remains positive because of the quality of care they have provided over the years.
