Great techs and vets. Always friendly and seem to really appreciate the pets as family members. Very appreciated.

I had read great things online and came in genuinely hopeful. That quickly changed. When I arrived with my dog, Buddy, and asked for a tour, the receptionist initially told me I couldn't bring him inside because they didn't have his vaccination records. I explained that I had already created a profile and uploaded everything. She paused, said "Oh," and then changed the reason--now stating I couldn't bring him in because it might "wind up the other dogs." At that point, I didn't argue and put him back in the car with the A/C running, but it was disappointing. A tour should absolutely include seeing how your dog reacts to the environment. Inside, the facility felt dark and quiet, with most of the lights off. Aside from the receptionist, I only saw a cleaning staff member. The tour itself was underwhelming at best. There was no effort to engage--no questions about my dog, no interest in my needs, no explanation of their services or daily routines. It felt more like an obligation than a business that wanted my trust. She showed me the "Ultra Suite," which includes a queen bed, webcam, and TV. Unfortunately, the room looked unkempt--the bed was unmade, the blanket was messy, and it appeared it hadn't been cleaned since the last dog. For $155/night, that's unacceptable. She did apologize, but it didn't inspire confidence. Next was the "Deluxe Suite," which was significantly smaller with a basic dog mattress on the floor. It felt more like a kennel than a "suite." There was only one dog there during my visit, yet the odor in the facility was overwhelming. I couldn't wait to leave. After showing me a few rooms, the tour simply ended--no discussion of availability, no overview of care, no attempt to answer questions or build trust. It was awkward and, frankly, disappointing. I'm very glad I chose to visit in person instead of booking based on the website alone. There is no scenario where I would feel comfortable leaving my dog here.

First, the cost was unbelievable in the best way. The procedure ended up being literally one-tenth of what another vet had quoted me. I was honestly shocked -- but even more impressed that the quality of care was absolutely top-tier. Affordable and exceptional is rare to find. Dr. Garcia was amazing. She is cool, funny, and incredibly good at what she does. She made me feel completely at ease, explained everything clearly, and treated my dog like her own. You can tell she truly loves what she does. The best part? My dog ate the same night after her dental procedure -- which is huge -- and she didn't cough even once. That alone told me she was comfortable and well cared for. Seeing her recover so smoothly gave me so much peace of mind. If you're looking for a vet that combines skill, personality, compassion, and fair pricing, Valley Ranch Pet Clinic is the place to go. Dr. Garcia and the team are simply outstanding. Almost everything is practically double per line item in comparison to local vets (please note service dates as one is from 2021). They also quoted me $850+ for dentals. If you want a nice doctor that will take care of your pet this is the place but don't go in expecting affordability.

They immediately take her for the vet to look at the hot spot and shave it (which they don't tell you costs $80) without any informed approval. Then they say she has two ear infections and after taking her to a different vet they confirmed she only has one the other ear is fine. Then they come in for a heart worm test that they also don't mention will be $75 dollars. After recieving an almost $800 bill for the visit they gave no print out to tell me what it was all for. I had to go over to the vet techs computer after she expected me to blindly pay and tell her what I wanted her to take off the bill that we definitely did not need. This got the bill down to $440 which she told me would include our vaccinations that we had come for. Little did I know she took off the vaccinations without my knowledge so I paid $440 and didn't even get the vaccines that we came for. Needless to say I left with nothing that I had come for and a bill of $440 that they couldn't account for and I would not bring down. Even after calling and one of the workers telling me they would reduce it by $290 which they did not honor. Unless you want to be conned DO NOT go here. I truly believe they are making up infections and other issues to make you pay more for medications and services. Not transparent in their pricing and no one could tell me the truth of what I was paying for.

She is a very anxious girl, so we asked for them to check out a lump on her hip and clip her nails while she was under anesthesia since she already had to be sedated for the dental work. We provided 2 stool samples. When checking out, we noticed a receptacle for something in the discharge bag and asked about it. Only when we asked, they told us they accidentally threw out both bags of our dog's stool and so they did not perform the test, but we could collect another and bring it back. We noticed her nails had barely been cut, which would be understandable if she were awake and resisted. But for being under anesthesia, they should have been able to do a really nice job with her nails. We also asked the vet if she had been able to look at the lump on our dog's hip, and she said she couldn't find it. Turns out she was looking at the wrong hip, so she came back out to look and of course our dog was afraid so she was barely able to look at the correct side - again, the reason we asked for it to be checked while under anesthesia. All of this cost over $1000, which would be reasonable if it matched the care provided + what we were charged for. We went to another vet recently, and they were able to clip our dog's nails really well while she was awake using a swing without any problems and they quickly identified the lump on her hip without us even asking. I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because they are very nice people and seem to really love animals. They provided timely updates about how our dog was doing. But we would not take our dog back to CityVet.

Immediately, I called back to find out where he was and I was advised that he was isolated in a room, in an unfamiliar place, I immediately got in my car and headed to picked him up. This lack of communication and care is unacceptable. If vaccinations were an issue, my dog should never have been approved or accepted that morning. I would not trust this facility with my pet again.

Of course, she immediately put on her brakes (locked her legs) and I had to coax her into the salon. Thankfully, Jake was waiting at the counter. He remembered Verda Belle's fears and did his best to become friends with her by talking softly to her and offering a treat. Of course, she was making me feel guilty, but I also could see she would be in good hands. She was there about 2.5 hours since it took longer to dry her. It is wonderful knowing I have found a kind groomer who actually treats animals with gentleness and love!

During that time, both of our dogs passed away due to old age, and our cat is now three years old. Throughout those years, our experience with the veterinarians and technicians has been consistently positive. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing quality care for their patients. The reason for this review is not the quality of care, but the clinic's prescription refill policy. When attempting to refill our cat's flea and tick medication through Chewy, the prescription request was declined because our cat had not had an annual wellness exam. When I contacted the office to understand the reasoning behind the requirement, I was told that the exam was necessary to maintain the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. However, I did not receive a clear explanation of how a routine wellness exam for a healthy, three-year-old cat would impact the decision to approve a medication he has been safely taking for the past three years. Veterinary regulations may require periodic examinations before prescriptions can be authorized, and if that is the case, I would have appreciated a straightforward explanation of that requirement. Instead, the responses I received felt generic and did not address the underlying question of why the exam was necessary in this specific situation. For many families, discretionary spending is carefully evaluated. Requiring an $83 wellness exam solely to authorize a refill of an established flea and tick preventative adds a meaningful expense without a clearly communicated benefit. While I understand the importance of routine preventive care, I believe clients deserve a transparent explanation of the medical or regulatory rationale behind policies that require additional visits and costs. My overall opinion of Riverwalk remains positive because of the quality of care they have provided over the years. However, this experience with prescription refill policies and the lack of a clear & logical explanation has been disappointing and has changed my perspective on an otherwise excellent practice. Note that this might be the case with all veterinary clinics
