The Civic Theatre ⁣ ⁣ Founded in 1925, the award-winning Grand Rapids Civic Theatre & School of Theatre Arts plays a very big role in our community. ⁣ ⁣ Did you know that the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre is the 5th largest community theater in the NATION? Read that again! Guys. What an incredible city we live in!!!! ⁣ ⁣ If you have never attended a performance here, make it a goal to see one of 9 they put on each year! You will be blown away at the talent of the youth and adults that pour their energy into these productions. ⁣ ⁣ While we could write paragraph upon paragraph of all the aspects of the Civic Theatre, we encourage you to check out their website to learn more about volunteer opportunities, auditions, and how you can get involved with one of the coolest GR organizations! ⁣ [[ https://www.grct.org ]]⁣

The movie experience is great compared to other neighbor movie theaters. Wide screens, comfy setes and good sound system. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

Today's experience at celebration cinema was not great. Our movie was set to start at 11 so we…read morearrived early to park and get concessions. We didn't realize the movie theatre doors would be locked until about 10:50am so we waited outside for another 10 minutes beforehand until we were able to get in. Once we were inside, the employee was visibly frustrated as the server was down. She informed us that she could not ring any concessions up so she offered a small boat of popcorn instead; she was certain the servers would eventually be back up... we decided to try ordering via the QR code in the theatre since she said online orders would work... well that didn't work because it never made it to them since the server was down... so we walked to the concessions area and showed our receipt to retrieve our water and popcorn bucket. As we made it back to our seats we noticed others appearing in the theatre with their popcorn boats for each person along with drinks... I guess we should have just asked for free drinks instead of paying for concessions today. What an overall bummer. On top of that, my daughters chair never heated up no matter how many times she tried pressing the button. I think we will probably steer clear of first of the day movies at studio park from here on out. I did put a complaint into the guest relations and got an AI style response offering a $10 voucher to use within 90 days. Cool but that doesn't really help with the cost of today's messy situation. They mention they can't refund fees (which - ordering online was literally the only way to pay for anything and they charge you for "convenience") ... how ironic. So $10 was their token of apology? Sorry, but I think this just further adds to the reason I don't venture to the theatre much anymore. Our grand total for 2 tickets, 2 bottles of water and a popcorn bucket was $49.62. That price would have been fine if everything was properly working but when systems are down and chairs are broken - what a bummer.

The seats are so comfortable, theatre is clean and the sound is fantastic. I don't eat popcorn or candy (boring I know), rarely drink soda but from the looks of their concessions things are priced fairly. The best part, 6.00 Tuesday movies!

I was really surprised at how nice and updated this location is! Walking in to the main lobby area I noticed the clean carpet and updated bar/concessions area. Everything seemed really clean and even though it was a bit of a slow time, it looks like the facility has been updated recently. The employees were friendly and efficient, and even offered me my complimentary real butter because I'm a Platinum level rewards member. (They rarely ask me if I want it at the other locations.) The theatre we were in was very small, only a handful of rows, but the seats looked brand new, especially compared to the super worn out seats at Studio Park. The sound and picture were great. I did some research and found out this location was updated in April 2024! There's plenty of parking in their lot and it's pretty easily accessible from the highway. Glad we got to visit the new and improved Celebration South!

I'm glad I got tickets online ahead of time, but they were still selling tickets at the door when we arrived about 20 minutes before the show. Memberships are only $15 and are good for the year. Membership gives you voting privileges for board seats as well as access to the bar at events. They sell some cocktails, beer, canned seltzers, and snacks. The theatre is historic and beautiful, and the seats were pretty comfortable. I will say it was a hot day and it got a tiny bit stuffy, but wasn't too bad. They show older movies and also have live music performances. I can't wait to come back to see more movies!

It ran a bit long, 3 hours with a 15 minute intermission. The theatre itself feels hipster. Slightly old but revitalized with the creative shows. Check out something that interest you today, playing this summer.
