CJ Deli is absolutely the best delicatessen in Cypress. The food is outstanding, super fresh, and top quality. I tried 3 different sandwhiches and they are consistently amazing. There are generous portions of meat and fillings. Also, the breakfast burritos here are the best I've ever had in recent memory. The cheese, potatoes, eggs, and meat are always in perfect proportion and well crafted. I've been coming here at least once a week because of CJ Deli's outstanding offerings (and at a ridiculously low price too!) The shop is very clean and well maintained. John, the owner, is a great and engaging guy who is always ready to help. Overall, it's my favorite place for lunch in Cypress and I highly encourage everyone to see for themselves! read more

I'll sum it up. It's a fantastic sandwich shop run by a mom and son who are self-proclaimed, anti-social Koreans. I was literally told by their son that they aren't open on weekends because they don't like dealing with anyone other than the "working class." This is by far my favorite sandwich place ever. CJ stands for Christine and John, it's a family owned restaurant. John is very creative which is why his sandwiches are so great! They are extremely flexible with their preparation if you'd like to add or take away something from the original sand which. Their salads are extremely delicious, and you get a lot for your buck! Finally tried this place tonight for dinner. Super good! I wasn't disappointed at all. The place is cute and really clean. The owner greeted me immediately and had good suggestions. We ordered a turkey sandwich and an Italian sub. Price was a little high but when I got it home I couldn't complain. There was a ton of meat on these sandwiches. This place puts Subway to shame. This is a small sandwich joint on the corner of Ball and Walker. The place is clean and the AC is working well - specially coming here on a triple digit temp day. It's a comfortable place to spend 10-12 minutes enjoying a sandwich. The guy at the counter / owner was friendly. Having no one else in here at 1:45 PM on a Thursday afternoon, they got me my 10" #49 (Italian Submarine) fairly quickly. It came sliced in half and wrapped nicely in paper which made it easy to eat. Besides bottled and fountain drinks, there was brewed iced tea in a plastic pitcher on the counter. The sandwich tasted fresh. Flavor wasn't too overpowering, since ingredients most likely have NOT been sitting there forever like at other sandwich places. I could still taste the deli meats. I liked the Italian dressing on the #49 sub (reminded me of Jersey Mike's) and I requested that they add red onions. I paid over $11 for the sandwich with chips and a drink which is a little more than what I would have spent had I gone to subway. But I like the taste of their sandwiches better and I'd rather support smaller/local businesses. read more

Picked up from here on the way home from work yesterday and the sandwiches were great. I had pastrami on squaw and it was perfect! I am always apprehensive when I order pastrami because so many places are too tough or too thick. Not CJ Deli! Sliced thin and so tender! Got the large sandwich and it served as dinner, midnight snack, and next day lunch. Very reasonable price for the quality and quantity! Will say the top bread didn't hold up for the next day (it was on the lettuce side, so it got some sog) but I removed it and folded my sandwich over for a double stack. My brother enjoyed the chicken teriyaki plate. Pics next time - there will definitely be a next time! read more

Great customer service. Friendly and ready to take my order upon walking in the place. I guess I beat the rush? Funny thing is they are next to Subway. I'm not sure how Subway stays in business as a result. There is no comparison. This place blows Subway away. Ordered the Large Meatball and took it home. It was large and quite filling! Nicely portioned sandwich packed with as many meatballs as it would hold without exploding in your hand. Sauce was flavorful but could use a bit more kick. This place is good for a local deli, and the staff is super nice and hardworking. I've had the Submarine sandwich. But having lived in LA for 10 years, the Submarine sandwich here doesn't quite hit the mark the way the Italian sandwiches at, for example, Lanza Bros, Eastside, or Bay Cities do. Probably unfair to compre a mom and pop sandwich shop in Cypress to the LA power houses, but just giving my honest opinion. I finally tried CJ's at the suggestion of a colleague. She raved about their sandwiches, especially the non-meat avo & sprouts sandwich. I asked for a mixed tuna and egg salad sandwich on squaw; typically places will not do this or they want to charge me for two sandwiches - I got exactly what I asked for and was very happy with the sandwich. The guy who took my order was friendly and patient, and, thankfully, my sandwich was completed just as asked. Like I have read in other reviews, phone your order in if you may be pressed for time. I'd also suggest parking in the back since they have a rear door to access the shop. We are planning to get an order together for delivery tomorrow. I highly suggest The Vegetarian it is all fresh vegetables that includes: sprouts, avocados, hard boiled eggs, cucumbers, and carrots. You can pick any bread you like but it goes so well with squaw as it has that bitter taste. The meats for the sandwiches are fresh and they pair well with just about all the types of bread they offer. All their sandwiches are delicious but I recommend all the cold sandwiches it is so refreshing on a hot day. You can customize any sandwiches and salads with a small extra charge. I have tried many of their bread options and they are never stale or chewy. The menu is huge - you can come back a few times and order a different sandwich each time. During peak lunch hours this place gets busy and pack inside. I suggests to call your order ahead of time to avoid the wait. This interior is small that there are not much space to stand around to wait for your order. They have a small amount of tables inside and they are all usually taken during lunch hours. If you come here with a lot of people they do not have long tables available. This is a mom and pop style sandwich shop and they definitely run-out of the popular items (it happened to me a few times) and they do not make some more till the next day. The workers are friendly and they always get our orders correct no matter how busy they are. They offer free pickles and chili peppers as well. They have free water - the only sandwich shop I have been to that offers it. The only downside is that they are close on weekends and they close at 5PM which is unfortunate if you are craving sandwiches for dinner. I've been driving right past this place for quite some time, and I finally talked my husband into coming in here. It doesn't look like much from the outside, which is why we never have come in here before. Do yourself a favor and come in here. My husband had an Italian hoagie, and I had the turkado on squaw. Both sandwiches were delicious. Fresh ingredients are clearly being used here. You can tell that this family operated business truly cares about their product. They also have a variety of hot sandwiches as well, and I look forward to returning to try these. Heard about CJ Deli about 2 weeks ago, good price, fresh daily, generous portions etc., all the typical hype and so, you wonder if it's true . Well, I need to let you guys know that it is in fact true. Wife and I have been there twice in the past week (Submarine sandwich the first time and egg salad (one white) the second. We must say it's true, fresh, great portions and delicious . I must confess we tried a third time this past Saturday (wifey and I walk a lot) and it was closed-note to self. when i go to a sub shop for the first time i like to order the basics. because they should know how to do that well. i got the Italian sub sandwich. he added a few things which are not typically on the sandwich like mustard and lettuce pickles and tomato. the French roll was good meat was good and good portions. staff was friendly and service was quick. they do have soup but unfortunately no sides like mac salad or potato salad. made do with some chips. funny thing is there is a subway not 30 yards away. they have a big selection of different types of sandwich. so ill be back at some point to try something else. definitely recommend read more
