The interior is clean but was pretty empty for a Saturday at lunchtime. The service I received was a no frills, "What would you like? Here's your order" type of service. I ordered the the small (10 inch) Special Sandwich, which is basically an Italian sub. The only difference between the small and large size is the amount of meat is doubled for the large. Been wanting to try this place for a while. Stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon and ordered lasagna that comes with the meatball and a meatball sandwich. I was planning to order the special sandwich to go but I was so full from lasagna I decided to save it for another day. It's a very clean and organized facility with a delicatessen and a mini market there too. The food came out quickly. I enjoyed the lasagna the sauce was excellent the meatball was also very tasty. I'm a huge fan of Santa Fe Importers, particularly their sandwiches. There's no better sandwich in the world than their Special. Although a light spread of mayo and mustard on the bottom bread would really make it shine as it can be a little dry. But I ordered a pizza tonight, maybe for the first time ever and boy was that a mistake. The dough seemed undercooked and was very doughy and flavorless. Still very blonde on the underside, but I don't know that it would be much better if it was fully cooked. If this is the best they can do they should take pizzas off their menu because it's doing them and us a disservice. I would be embarrassed to serve that to anybody.
