Chicken taco had a bit of a spice to it, which I liked but my daughter found too "spicy". The quesa-birria tacos were good but not the traditional birria I get in Chicago. These are laid on the grill to get crispy like a quesadilla . Usually the tortillas are dipped in the consome first . This makes them both crispy with added depth and flavor. Came across CJ's Tacos and was thoroughly impressed by this little food truck! It might be small, but it's very well-cut - clearly, they've got their operation down. Great service. There's a nice outdoor seating area, which is a plus, though we opted to get our order to go. We tried a variety of their tacos: brisket, fish, chicken, and Al Pastor. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was clearly made to order right there. Each one was very tasty and packed with flavor. The Al Pastor was a little more charred than I typically prefer, but even with that, it was still very good and enjoyable. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and freshness you get. This tucked away spot in South Austin definitely has some of the best priced tacos for the size and flavor of the taco! Our favorites were the fish taco and the Birria tacos but I will definitely be returning to try the others! One of the tacos I ordered they forgot, and when we asked about it they told us that we didn't order it without checking what they had written. Not too long later, he came out and let us know that we were right and they forgot the other taco even though it was written in their note, and that they didn't have that meat anymore and I needed to choose a different taco.
