Hands-down, the best place in Lincoln for post-hike provisions. We stumbled on CJ's on accident this past Sunday because our usual place, Pub 32 Pizza & Beer, was no longer seating customers at 5PM. Tired, dirty, injured and in dire need of an ice cold IPA, we glanced around us to survey alternative recovery options. Lo and behold, right across the street was CJ's. My ice cold IPA took the form of a filtered, mellow Moosejuice and my husband's, a tropical, hazy Fiddlehead. Both were delish! We shared the server-recommended CC wings and they were stupendous! The same could be said for the volcano burger and onion rings. Regrettably, I can't recall our server's name but it was the gentleman working the lower patio on Sunday evening around 5. He was friendly and helpful and if I spot him the next time we're in, I'll definitely request to sit in his section. The restaurant had abundant socially-distanced outdoor seating and required masks when not seated, which facilitated feeling safe. We are from Massachusetts, hike the Whites once a week, stay in hotels much of the time and will be doing our part to contribute to the local economy by visiting CJ's every chance we get. read more

My boyfriend and I went here on a Monday evening and there were not many people. Most of the staff were not very personable and seemed socially awkward. We had a male server who introduced himself and took our drink order, but we barely saw him again until he dropped the check off for us. The woman who mostly waited on us (who we assume to be a manager because of her professionalism) was incredibly nice and was one of the only staff members who actually interacted with us. We sat outside on their "patio" which was covered in ants and gnats were flying into our drinks. Alcoholic beverages tasted like watered down juice. Food was mediocre at best, I felt like I could have made something better at home. The only saving grace was their NE Clam Chowder, which came out piping hot and tasted delicious. When I return to Lincoln, NH, I will not be rushing to return here. read more

I Just tried to go into CJ's with a party of 6 adults and 3 children. It was busy, understandably, as it's peak ski season and right in the middle of their happy hour. What is not understandable, is why the waitress or bus person or whatever she was, had no social skills, whatsoever. My husband and our children were standing at an empty, short pub table and the employe rushed up on us, without a greeting of any kind, and abrasively told us "guys--we come through here with trays.. you're gonna have to move!" Having previously been in the service industry for many years, I understand that people getting in the way of service can be very frustrating but having some tact and friendliness should be a job requirement and this individual does not possess those skills. The same message could have been easily delivered by saying something like "hi, guys! Welcome to CJ's! As you can see we're super busy right now and we do come through this area with food and trays and we don't want to bump into you or your kids or spill anything, so if you don't mind moving to another spot, I'd really appreciate it!" This woman is definitely not an asset to the establishment and she cost Louie the business of a party of 9 tonight and possibly many other evenings. read more

Located downstairs from Brittany's at the Kancamagus Lodge. I came because Brittany's was closed, but this served the same menu, but with a "sports bar" theme. The theme was not overbearing, and the place was quiet (TV volume turned off, thankfully) and family-friendly. Service was fast and friendly. Food was good, but not outstanding, for the price. I had a tasty Italian haddock, with a nice house salad and a powerful Stout. And I couldn't resist the chocolate peanut butter pie for desert. read more

I got the bbq platter which was bbq steak tips and chicken with grilled veggies. My wife got bacon Mac and cheese with caramelized onions. Both were really good. My husband and I stopped for quick dinner after being out hiking late. I wasn't expecting much, but we're big Bruins fans, so the "penalty box" sounded like fun even if the food was less than stellar. I should have trusted the reviews, the food was fantastic! I got bbq wings which were great, my husband tried the Buffalo Mac and cheese which he said was one of the best mac & and cheese variants he's had. Flavorful, cheesy, and plentiful for the price. This little hidden gem was told to me by my snowboard instructor. The atmosphere is very charming. I went there on Tuesday night for taco night.
