I would absolutely give this pub / restaurant 5 stars if it wasn't for the owner/manager loudly criticizing his employees in public. My wife took my here for my birthday and dinner. Food was excellent. Waitress was very nice, friendly and her service was outstanding. After dinner we decided to sit at the bar for a drink and that is when the experience took a turn. I saw and mainly heard the owner/ manger openly and loudly criticizing his employees. All of which, I will say we're doing a fine job. It's one thing if you are a business owner and need to address a concern but another to make your patrons feel uneasy. Every time I come to this bar I receive exceptional service, but with the staff returning after being out for months due to COVID, I thought I would make it a point to mention the bartender Andrew. From the moment I came in, he made sure that I was comfortable that my food came out exactly as I ordered as well as my Honey Jack and Ginger. He was attentive as well as friendly to myself and the other patrons. I came here with my very large adult son Reginald and ordered the sampler. It was so delicious. I haven't wept this much since my ex wife got me a dvd copy of the notebook. My only issue was when Reginald finished his last chicken wing. We were informed that only one napkin per customer was allowed. Reginald then cried like I did when my ex wife got me a dvd copy of the notebook. He did not know what to do with his hands. Poor Reginald. Me and my friends stumbled on this place because we were curious and Roy came out and greeted us. He was very friendly and welcoming which was a relief because the last place (speakeasy) was not good experience. James was our server , he was really nice and quick with service . I got the mahi mahi was tomatoe risotto..crab meat and a creamy sauce. I really enjoyed it. I wasn't a fan of the risotto because didn't really match up with the fish well. Everything was great. Yeah... everything was alright. Nothing mind-blowing, nothing disgraceful. A-OK by me! We started with their cream-of-crab soup, which has a wonderful amount of crab meat and is smooth as velvet. I tossed in a pinch of salt for seasoning. The oysters were alright.. I just hate when they're served with cocktail sauce. To me it ruins the whole thing! I stuck to lemon juice and hot sauce for those bad boys. The mussels were okay, but I just felt like the sauce was far too loose and light on flavor-- a splash of cream could have done wonders. The steamed shrimp with old bay and onions were really tasty! We ordered 1/2 a pound, which ended up being less shrimp than expected because these guys were extra meaty. No complains there! Lastly, we got the 5 oz. lobster and 5 oz. steak Surf N' Turf special. The meat was really tasty, but the lobster lacked flavor. Again, pinch of salt necessary. I left Claddaugh's with a belly full of seafood (which equals a SMILE on my face) but overall I felt that the meal lacked simple seasoning. Still it was a great amount of food, all fairly priced. If you've never stopped in for food, now is the time. I've only ever been here for drinks but I was missing out. The chicken Chesapeake was phenomenal, literally the best Soviet crab I've ever had. Boyfriend had the buffalo wings and said they were delicious! The staff are also super cool. The guy at the front asked if we liked it and our positive response was met with a "hell yea." I hate complaining about restaurants but I feel scammed. I ordered a 14 oz NY Strip advertised as "market price" and it turned out to be $55. Claddagh is a fun place with great staff, but most would agree it's not a steak house (it's an Irish Pub). In fact, the Surf and Turf at nearby Blue Hill (a finer dining establishment) is $32 and their petit filet is $28. I recognize that agreeing to pay market price is a gamble, but $55 is not market price for a regular NY strip steak. If you choose to go to Claddaughs, enjoy a drink and their outdoor seating, but be cautious when ordering un-priced food from their menu. read more

Went here for a football game. We ate and got drinks in the Cork Yard! Cute area, small but cozy, and the weather outside was beautiful! Really nice space and fun for the game. Now this is not a place with bells and whistles! No drink menu, limited menu, and the bartender was our waiter. The food was bar food but tasty and well made. We got good service. I had brunch here today, and everything was lovely. Friendly staff, fast service, delicious food. However - the mimosa price was not listed on the menu. My friend and I each ordered one anyway and got a small flute glass. We were then shocked to see that each one cost $7.50! This was way too much to spend on such a small beverage, especially when my meal pictured here was $9, and other bars nearby have pint glasses of mimosas for $3 or $4. We were in the Baltimore area for the day and really wanted some great crab cakes. We met a couple at a nearby winery who said we HAD to go here. Normally I would not trust an unassuming Irish pub to have incredible food, but their recommendation was spot-on. The crab cakes were some of the BEST I've ever had, full of jumbo lump with almost no filler. Steamed shrimp, crab soup, and the baby back ribs special were also all very good along with the fresh crushes. Seriously, I am still thinking about those crab cakes and will have to make the drive from VA to have them more often. Friendly staff too - we came with two (!) dogs and the ladies fawned over them and were so sweet. read more

They are open for business and the food is great. We had the crab dip and the wings with spicy BBQ sauce. Both were very good. For my entree, I had the catch of the day, which was broiled salmon over a bed of linguine with a roasted pepper sauce - delicious! A generous portion of fish cooked to perfection and a very tasty sauce combination. Drinks were and the service was good too. We definitely plan on coming back next time we are in the area. My suggestion to improve our experience would be that an order of wings should come with some moist towelettes to clean our fingers and faces. Thursdays is dollar bud lights so expect this party house to be packed to the gills. There is something for every one (as long as you're looking for a good time) two levels means ,dancing, 3 bars, dinning areas, a pool table, a lounge, even an out door patio. The service from the bar is great and Dereck always takes care of us. The specials are great you really can't beat the Ravens game beer tower and wing special. I liked everything that came out on the plates; the cream of crab was my favorite! The service was excellent (I went on a slow day during the week). We sat outside and it was great under the tents. The table could have had a better covering, but didn't affect the dining experience. I wish the steamed shrimp had just a little less onions (don't get me wrong I love onions) but it felt like I had ordered onions with shrimp instead of the other way around. An outstanding lunch on a beautiful day. So this is a review of the place as a restaurant, not as a watering hole. I was very impressed with the kitchen's products - from the flat bread pizza appetizer to the two inventive salads (great grilled meats and homemade blue cheese dressing) to the bread pudding. As I drive through Canton I keep seeing that billboard with the crab cakes dinner on it so I figured I'd give it a try. The place was humming because it was happy hour and so the bar was crowded with drunk young people. I ended up having something off the appetizer menu and it was really good. Ordered take-out in the spirit of supporting our local businesses and immediately regretted choosing Claddagh. All three of our meals were either completely incorrect or poorly prepared. Firstly, the margherita flatbread pizza we ordered somehow became a margarita drink despite being very clear on the phone that we were ordering food. When we arrived to pick up the order, the staff apologized and said the pizza would be out in 10 minutes. After waiting for over 30 minutes, the flatbread finally made it's way out of the kitchen despite about two dozen other orders being prepared and carried out between the time we arrived and the time we received ours. Then we got home and became even more disappointed with the rest of our order. The meatloaf and sweet potato fries somehow ended up becoming meatloaf, lemon corn and regular fries. The Caesar salad was an uncut head of romaine lettuce. The flatbread they finally prepared for us looked like it was cooked for a few minutes tops and they plopped the tomato sauce on top right before they gave it to us. All of this was compounded by the fact that everything was cold. As someone who worked in the service industry for over a decade, this was so disappointing and I won't be investing in this business again. read more

As my buddy and I were cruising around Baltimore, we decided to venture out to a new lunch destination and what a great spot we found! Located on a pleasant street with a little park separating two sides of the street. Makes for a nice social square for people to meet, sit outside in the summer, enjoy some beers and get some food. Not only is Claddagh Pub located right in the square, it has half off burgers on Wednesdays. Now, I was expecting some tiny hamburger patty that was supplied by the lowest bidder and I was pleasantly surprised that these patties were thick and juicy. Definitely not your standard parent supplied burger for after your kids' soccer game. You can further customize your burger with an array of toppings. I opted for mushrooms and an egg, sunny side up. Something about biting into that and having the yolk drip all over the burger patty and bun that gets my appetite flowing. One thing to note, while the burger itself is half off on Wednesdays, the extra toppings are not. the toppings are full price. The service was very good and the bar tender checked on us often to re-fill our waters. A great experience with food and service. Will certainly return. read more

Fun times on the weekends at this popular venue. The bar scene stays downstairs and the clubish scene goes upstairs. The DJ spins tunes while patrons bounce up and down on the small "dance floor". At times you can feel the whole structure bounce with the rhythm (which is kinda scary). Drinks are on the higher side but not unreasonable--No cover to go in. Lots of beautiful people. After accidentally leaving debit card at the end of the night last night we had to go there three times today to get it, and they never returned it. The manager said come back in 30 minutes even though he was there. Upon return he kept walking away and wouldn't acknowledge except after checking ID said he had 300 cards there but not ours. To be honest, as the owner of Claddaghs, you have no respect when it comes to speaking with customers, Micheal; can I call you Micheal (well i am regardless because you had no respect). I'm about to politely drop a truth bomb on ya because everything you claimed, is kinda off. You claim that you have to raise the prices higher then what they really sell for or what you buy them for, but if thats the case how come I LITERALLY can go anywhere else in Canton or the Square and get THE SAME EXACT craft, draft beer for at the MOST only $6 or even $4 at some places. Well if I wanna get technical, I can buy it from you for the most at $8 during happy hour (yes we came during happy hour) so regardless whether 2ir was supposed to be cheaper or not, it's a rip off. I can go to Lee's and get the same drink for $6 not during happy hour and the same rail drinks for $5. I can go to Mahaffeys and get 3, say it with me 3 CRAFT DRAFT BEERS, FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $6 for all 3 during their happy hour, yet just one of yours is $8. Since thats the case, then you're clearly raising the prices higher just because, and honestly it's probably because your business isnt making that much money and you need to rip others off to survive. I've lived and grew up in Canton my whole life, my family has been here for generations, alot longer than your bar has been here. Trust me, I go and have been to every bar and restaurant possible in the area and y'all literally are the worst and most expensive for no reason. Others don't mind paying those prices because they don't realize theyre being ripped off because they aren't from around here and think its just priced that way because its Canton and you pay for the "atmosphere". Your annual meet in the street for St. Patrick's Day has also gone down GREATLY over the years, tons of people use to come and it was huge; now it's just a lame rip off. I've been in your bar quite a few times and it's never as packed as it use to be, even on a friday or saturday night when you'd think it's "packed", it's not as packed as it use to get nor as packed as LITERALLY evrywhere else. I can get oysters for 50 cents every single day at Lee's during happy hour and its the same oysters yall sell for almost $3. You have no respect as an owner when it comes to speaking with customers, you're like a snobby, little school girl when it comes to 1 bad review. If you claim that the drafts are cheaper than $8 during happy hour, than why were we charged $8 for it during then; because it's a rip off. Your waiter himself was also very rude during the visit when we asked him questions. If you wanna spend $50 for just 2 beers, 2 rail drinks and an APPETIZER of CHICKEN TENDERS, be my guest but you can get the same stuff plus more for less anywhere else. Plug Ugly has freakin 25 cent drafts after 10pm, like seriously if they can sell beer for 25 cents and still be thriving, you don't have to rip people off everyday and during happy hour (which isnt even that long of a time). This place seems to have really gone downhill fast. The wings used to be among the best in town, but are noticeably lacking in quality now. The New York Strip used to be my go-to when in the Canton area, but the last two times I have ordered it - it's come out overcooked. Still a great place to have drinks, but it seems that that part of the business is all they have decided to focus on these days. A solid 3 stars. read more
