First time out in Baltimore, I came with coworkers after our Xmas party. I have to say the place was fun and not too overly crowded like some places in Chicago. I had a lot of drinks and they were good (from what I can remember). Lol I do know I left until closing and danced most of the night. I even talked to the dj and requested songs. I love Claddagh. A-lot. Heres why: Happy Hour/Daily Specials are incredible. Their pitcher and 30 wings combo for $20 is a Canton staple and on game days cant be beat. Their blue cheese is potentially my fav in all of Baltimore. Chunky and rich, if it just had a bit more blue cheese stink/funk this could take the cake as the best blue cheese for wings I have ever had. Im not crazy about all their wing flavors (Buffalo is a bit thick and sweet/sometimes Old Bay seasoning feels barely there) but the Thai Chili Wings more than make up for it. Their sandwiches are also incredible, with the Buffalo Chicken(great flavors) & the Cheesesteak really standing out(huge portion). Some of the bartenders can be a bit curt, but this is a pub and they deal with a-lot of drunks, idiots and worse of all, bros. Great place to catch a game, this place gets crowded quickly during gametime. Their normal menu pricing can get a bit expensive quick, so young folks keep your eye out for their happy hour/specials. We would not recommend this restaurant/bar. We were excited to get drinks and appetizers with friends, but each starter came out cold and soggy. We told the waitress and she was very nice about it. We decided to only send back one to get heated up because our friends were very hungry. That is just the beginning of a horrible experience. While in line for the bathroom, a drunken customer cussed and threatened me and the other women in line. Things became very heated between some of the women behind me and the woman who came out from the bathroom. The manager came over towards the end of the altercation and I tried to explain what happened. He told me to sit down and calm down. I was and still am absolutely shocked and bothered. The group I was with found it very unsettling and impolite. He never once asked us what happened or if we were ok (since the physical and verbal altercation happened beside our table), he never apologized for the experience, nothing. To top it off, he was extremely rude and unprofessional as we were leaving. Our waitress was really nice and apologetic for how our experience turned out. She even mentioned that this manager never handles any issues well. There are way too many restaurants and bars in Baltimore for us to accept or condone that kind of treatment and lack of food quality. If there's one thing I cannot stand is a "too cool for school" attitude directed at customers. Mid-afternoon, my boyfriend and I popped in for a drink. The bartender was rude. My boyfriend asked what they had in the way of "brown ales" and the bartender acted irritated by his question and named the beers on the taps right in front of us like we couldn't read. He seemed put off that we just wanted drinks and didn't want to order any food. So people can't go to divey bars on the square and just get drinks? I asked if he could make my Bloody Mary "not too spicey" and he said, "well, it's a mix". MIND YOU, I know that most places use a mix, but work with me here. Ask, "want to try it first?" Don't just sneer at me like I'm being high maintenance. NOTE - we were one of five people in the entire bar at the time. I think there were more staff than customers. I had to go get my dog, so my boyfriend asked if we could sit at one of the (empty - all empty) outside tables. He paid up and brought our drinks outside. He got 'tudes and snobbery throughout that entire process. I met back with him and finished my drink. A waitress came out and without saying it directly, let us know that we were taking up space. AGAIN, I will mention that the place was a ghost town. I've been a server - I would never hog a table with sitting, sipping and chatting when servers are trying to make money. I actually was getting so hungry that I looked at the menu, but when I saw the boring, over-priced chicken sandwich bullshit that they were trying to serve with the idea that white table-cloths and snotty staff were going to make this place high-class, we rolled. I've been here before, and perhaps I had one or four too many pours then, but the food and service was what you would expect from a pub in a district like Canton. Not sub-par, but a respectable attempt for a bar that tries to cater to a dining crowd with a floor dedicated to foosball and billiards. [Fast forward to Tuesday night around 7:45pm] This time, only on my second (and quickly delivered) Dogfish, I ordered the calamari. Thank the heavens my jaw is trained to masticate dehydrated meats, or this plate would have gone straight to the rubble pile. After mentioning my disapproval for the dish to my bartender, there was no apparent extensions made to appease my disappointment. "How is it going?", "To be honest, overcooked." "..." My comment was replied to with a shrug, and that was that. To give them some credit, they gave me extra horseradish for the in-house made cocktail sauce. The calamari was really that bad. I would go again and give their menu another chance. I understand. Kitchens can make mistakes. Anyone who's been around Baltimore for a while knows what Claddagh is - a place for 21 to 25-year-olds to get sloppy drunk on weekends. So I wasn't expecting much when I stopped by during a bar crawl on an early Saturday evening. Well, there's certainly been no improvements since my last visit a couple years ago. Nothing worth wasting energy to review, though... until I had some crab dip (ordered under duress, I was starving). My crab dip was almost ENTIRELY whipped mayo. The non-mayo portion of the dip was 3 bits of claw meat, breadcrumbs, and Old Bay sprinkled on top. Let me remind you that Claddagh is located in Baltimore. Not Kansas City. Not Omaha. Not Tuscaloosa. Baltimore. The worst dip I've ever had in Baltimore at least had low-grade shredded crab meat distributed throughout its pasty gooey white artery-clogging mass. Not Claddagh's though. Claddagh's crab dip doesn't even have the decency to convey flavor or texture to your tongue while killing you slowly. Worst. Crab dip. Ever. read more

C'das!! Love a place that I am convinced has 7 A's and 5 D's when I'm drunk. It is a guaranteed poop show of a good time. You will drink your face off, dance your hiney off, and then wake up with late night pizza on your shirt. However, if you stop in Sunday morning still tipsy from their homemade pineapple infused vodka, you will see a completely polished and shockingly clean restaurant with an exceptional brunch. On a nice day you can sit outside, which is really a treat. How they get that place cleaned up and smelling vomit and pee free in so few hours is beyond me! Ok, I am just having a little fun because some of the previous posts made this place out to seem like a frat party on amateur night. It is a really nice looking restaurant during kitchen hours and their food is really good. A place you could even take your parents (and they would never believe you were making out with someone at that very table the night before;)). Thursday's dollar beer night and the best dance party in Canton! Sunday Game days there are so much fun, but get there early if you want a seat because it fills up quick. After the Ravens win (on a good day), it clears out a bit, but there is always a nice crowd that sticks around to celebrate the win. Oh, and it has the BEST people watching. Truly amazing. C'das also brings a diverse crowd. You will see your preps, your hipsters, industry people, college kids, young professionals, milfs and everything in between. Only downfall would be that there are 5 bathrooms in the whole place, so expect to wait in line. Other than that, there are cute boys, pretty girls, intoxicating bartenders, fresh orange crushes and your occasional Ravens sighting... What's NOT to love? read more

I've been here twice, or so I've been told. The first time was the Canton Crawl in March- I was a sloppy 21-25 year old that some are chastising, and it was a damn good place to dance. Last night, we went in after a BSSC softball game, around 7:45 PM, with a group of about 12. We had first tried another establishment on the square, but the staff was incredibly rude and did not seem to want our business. The staff at Claddagh's couldn't have been more accommodating. They moved tables and stools and really went above and beyond- a really refreshing discovery. The bars have a great agreement with BSSC and the pitchers of beer are well priced. The crab dip, as others have highlighted, was amazing, and served with slightly sliced perfectly crispy/soft french bread. AMAZING. And the steamed shrimp was also very good- a little over seasoned in my opinion, but maybe I'm a wimp. Customer service is not a lost art in this place, at least not in my experience. To date I have not been to Maryland w/o going to Claddagh's. The Hot Maryland Crab Dip $8.95, Served with vegetables and French bread is to die for. I will let you know that this is on the menu for my death bead appetizer. I don't even like seafood but Claddagh's crab dip converted me so much that every time I go to Maryland I wind up ordering the dip. The staff is warm and friendly, they make you feel right at home. On a sunday afternoon upstairs is the best place to be w/ two bars and a shit load of flat screen tv's. This place is a neighborhood favorite, you can tell b/c its always packed. Went there to have a few drinks. Spent most of my time in the upstairs part which features more of the bar atmosphere than the downstairs part that is more of a restaurant (but both turn into a more bar like atmosphere as it gets later. The upstairs features two bars that have 4 beers on tap (slightly lacking but nothing too bad). The odd thing is that Miller light bottles are more than the draft beers. Not a big deal but wish I realized this before I got less beer for more money when the bartender assumed I wanted bottles and not draughts when I asked for 2 miller lights. Buck hunt up stairs +1. Not too loud to hear people +1. Ok music selection. Seemed kinda confused. Some top forty songs inspiring break out dance circles but then followed by slow songs that immediately killed the dance party vibe. Also have a pool table up stairs which is kinda cool. read more

Claddagh pub is one of the best bars in the Baltimore area. When I first arrived I was greeted by two very nice bartenders and an accommodating manager. I sat in the courtyard and ordered crab dip and some buffalo wings. The crab dip had jumbo lump crab meat and the wings were crispy. I then order the salmon which was a special at the time and it was simply cooked to perfection. My orange crush was also refreshing. Not only was the food great but the staff could not have been nicer. This place is great and has an excellent Ambience and nightlife. This place is a 10 out of 10 and I recommend it to anyone and everyone! read more

Came in here for an early dinner at about 5:30 on mother's day after we decided not to deal with the wait at Mother's and Canton dockside told us that the wait was 90 minutes AND they had no crabs. I wasn't really expecting too much but picked Claddagh because it was relatively crowded (without being packed). We ordered friend oysters which were ok, but a little greasy and crab cake platters. The fried oysters were $10 for 5 oysters and I would probably skip them next time. The crab cakes were actually quite good, firm lump crab without much filler. They were a bit spendy at $29.00 for two crab cakes, mashed potatoes and greenbeans. The greenbeans were actually fresh though and the potatoes were well done too. The beer menu was long without being very exciting, but prices were not bad. The waiter/host was friendly without being particularly attentive. A totally solid meal, though at $120 after tip it was was a pretty expensive one. read more

Owner introduced himself and he was a really nice man and just for that matter I would love to love this place !! But I don't !!! Overall staff is really nice they stop to talk to you and introduce themselves but this is due to the fact that they might of been really slow on a Saturday evening for dinner ? I would not suggest going there for the food as I had the soft shelled crab and I was pretty much smushed and burnt. I recently started working in Canton and was referred to Canton Square by a friend. While walking through the square my girlfriend and I came across this pub. The entrance had very nicely dressed tables out front with candles. Once inside there was a very quaint bar section with the classic Irish pub atmosphere. However, if the bar scene is not for you, they had two very nice dinning rooms. The manager sat us and the waiter was very quick to take our order and recommend some of their best sellers. He also informed us that the chefs create new specials daily. We started with the Hot Maryland Crab Dip (Highly Recommended!!); It was creamy and delicious and came out hot with two baguettes, celery and carrots. We followed up with the Claddagh Club Sandwich and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich, both heavenly. We also indulged in one of their Orange Crushes. It was sweet and tangy and very lite, perfect for the summer evening. The waiter was very nice and informative and our drinks were always full. The atmosphere was terrific! The larger of the two dining rooms has a lovely view of the square. The upstairs had a couple of pool tables, which they move in the evening to make room for a DJ and dancing. The restrooms were very clean and fresh, which was not surprising since the rest of the establishment followed suit. Overall, it was one of my best restaurant experiences. The price for most of the dishes was very reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone; couples, groups or otherwise and I am certain I will be returning soon! read more

Our party arrived here for a couple of beverages around noon. We sat in a nice outdoor patio with good music playing. There was another couple here that was making a big fuss over a few dollars on their bill. Several staff had to try to appease them. The staff handled the obnoxious customers very professionally despite how rude they were being. I'm guessing they probably didn't leave a tip despite cleaning their plates (food must have been good). Would be five stars but the beers are a touch pricey (it's Canton, it's the square, it's to be expected) Huge, tasty (and properly prepared) buffalo wings. Great burgers. The Bad: The parking in the area sucks, there's an on-again/off-again dress code after 8pm (no ballcaps? my friend put his back on after going in), on the weekends it gets overrun by Jersey shore rejects. We came for the Wednesday burger/chicken sandwich special. The burgers were prepared as we requested, juicy and with a variety of toppings. The team was friendly and attentive. We have been here for brunch on weekends whenever we visit Baltimore. The room behind the bar has a number of paintings of iconic traditional Irish musicians. This would be a great spot for a Wednesday night session of local musicians which would draw trade mid week from all the growing families making Canton their home. read more

This is a fun spot in the Canton square whether it's night or day! I've been here for lunch on a Sunday as well as late on a Friday or Saturday evening. The place always seems packed with a good crowd and with the multiple levels, you don't ever feel confined or squished. The food was nothing that really stood out to me, but I recall it being decent for your typical "pub grub". I usually don't even like crab or most shellfish, but I've been fantasizing about the Crab Toast appetizer ever since I tried it last weekend. I wish they would make it into an entree, because I would order two. I got the Prime Rib sandwich entree and it was fine but I was still thinking about those jumbo lumps... Later in the night, Mike the owner came out and asked my friend and I if we could move to the next table because they needed ours for a large party. He offered to give us each a free dessert and drink and couldn't have been nicer about it. We got a creme brulee, mango bread pudding, Irish coffee and Bailey's all for free, just for moving 3 feet away. Our waiter was also really friendly and somehow we got into a mini conversation about Fight Club. Claddagh's definitely has the loud, lively atmosphere of an Irish pub, but with better food. A large group of us came here for dinner. They were able to accommodate us easily. I had the salad which was nothing to write home about ( i guess that's what I get for getting a salad at a pub). Someone got a shrimp diablo type dish which was delicious. I suggest getting that dish.
