I'm usually afraid to go to the dentist but he really is just the nicest! I was in and out pretty fast. Dr. even texted me to check in and made sure I knew he was available if I had any questions. Not to mention, everyone in the office is super kind. I remember that the pain wasn't bad, however the bottom right of my lip is still numb today. I texted Dr. Koshgerian about it & was set up for a follow up a week or so later. Came in for a quick visit and he reassured me that it was normal (it is a risk of removal after all) and hopefully, I'd regain the feeling in a couple months! I'm hopeful that it will. I appreciate the attentiveness and kindness they had toward me. If I ever need any future procedures, I'll definitely know where to go.

They even asked what song I wanted to be playing in the background during the procedure. They know what they are doing and are extremely kind and efficient. I barely had any swelling or pain, it was not bad at all! I definitely recommend coming here for your oral surgery needs. I had my follow-up appointment and even coming in for that was a great experience. The front desk is also very welcoming. They are very responsive when I call and make me feel like I am not a bother when I have questions. Anyone would be lucky to have this team work with you!

Regular patients teeth may have withstood the force but unfortunately her being fully disabled, that was not the case. Dr Berger was kind enough to take on her case and perform the surgery while she was inpatient where I know most dentists would of said this is a outpatient procedure. He has also preformed dental work on my other sister over 6 years ago and really does truly care about his patients. I highly recommend him especially if you are special needs.

This was one of the most alarming and unacceptable medical experiences I have ever had. I would…read morestrongly caution anyone to think twice and get a second opinion before allowing Dr. Berger to perform any procedure without extreme precaution and getting a second opinion. I went in for a simple biopsy of a discolored area on the roof of my mouth. I was told that the only way my insurance would cover the biopsy was if it were done in a hospital under full anesthesia. I was also told the doctor intended to remove the entire discolored area, not take a small sample, turning what should be a minor procedure into something far more invasive, painful, and with a much longer recovery. What happened next was completely unacceptable. Without my knowledge or consent, the office submitted multiple requests to my insurance for extensive, invasive procedures that were never discussed with me. These requests were based on the assumption of cancer before any biopsy had even been performed or approved. One of those requests even included removing tissue from the right side of my tongue, something that was never mentioned to me at any point. When I called to question this, I was told this is something the doctor "just does" so he has authorization in advance in case he decides to do more once surgery has started. That explanation should concern any patient. I agreed to a biopsy, nothing more. The most troubling part: my insurance company later confirmed that the biopsy is fully covered in-office, including anesthesia if I choose it. In other words, the claim that I needed to go to the hospital under full anesthesia was simply not true. I sought a second opinion from another maxillofacial surgeon, who confirmed what should have been said from the beginning: a small, in-office biopsy is standard, and there is no need to remove the entire area. To be clear: I was given false information about my insurance coverage Major procedures were submitted to my insurance without my consent Additional surgical requests were made without any discussion These requests were made before even confirming a diagnosis This is not a matter of poor communication, this is a complete breakdown of transparency and patient consent. If I had not questioned this and sought a second opinion, I could have undergone a far more invasive procedure than necessary. Patients deserve honesty, clear communication, and the ability to make informed decisions about their own bodies. I did not receive that here. Proceed with extreme caution.

I was ultimately told I needed emergency oral surgery and was at risk for life-threatening complications. Dr. Paul Koshgerian truly saved my life. He immediately prioritized my surgery despite his demanding schedule and treated me with compassion, honesty, and urgency from day one. The recovery process has been long, but Dr. K has supported me every step of the way and helped restore both my health and my smile. I was referred here by Visionary Dental Arts and I swung by the day of to have a quick convo and they were able to get me a consultation within the next 48 hours which was clutch because my insurance plan was changing and I needed a quick turnaround time. The receptionist were quick, funny, and informative. They have an automated system to send you text reminders of your appointment plus a welcome video after you leave the office. For my consultation, I was running late because my dog became ill and they were gracious and worked with finding another time for me to come in. I arrived later that day and waited no more than 5 minutes in a crowded waiting room to go in and get my head scanned. I was put into the patient room with scans of my head and I met with 3 people. The assistant, then the doctor, then the payment specialist. Each one was welcoming and didn't talk to me entirely in jargon and technical terms. They made it a point to use the medical terms and then combine it with more common terms. It was in a way that didnt make me feel inferior or not smart. I then went and made an appointment for two weeks from there. A few days later, I called and asked if I can move it up and they were more than happy to do so as they had a last minute opening for extraction. On they day of my appointment, I came in, they went over a few paperwork, took payment, and then whisked me into the room. They asked what type of music I wanted to be played and told them some music from my home country and they were bopping along with me and asking questions about my country and sharing stories about their own. I was 3 minutes into the song before next thing I knew, I was being walked out to the car. Don't remember much but they mentioned how fun I was and that they enjoyed spending time with me. Apparently I was hilarious and grooving even in my sleep. Many thanks for their patience and care they provided me.

Date of most recent visit: January 14, 2025…read more For the past couple of years, I had a bump on my inner lip that had neither grown or shrunken; it was just... there. My dentist was concerned about it, so she referred me to Dr. Mahdi Matin and his team at West Coast Oral Surgery. They discovered that not only did I have two bumps that were papillomas (which gave me a bit of concern as the first thing that popped into my head was HPV... which they quickly reassured me it wasn't), but they also wanted to remove them for a biopsy to make sure they weren't cancerous or anything like that. I went in last week to get the papillomas removed, and just yesterday got the official word... BENIGN! (Actually, I had known since this past Friday, as my dentist had also gotten the pathology results and were the first to tell me, but I still wanted to hear it from Dr. Matin.) What impressed me about West Coast Oral Surgery is that not only was the procedure quick and relatively painless once the anesthesia kicked in, but how professional the staff was in describing what the procedure would entail, treatment, and payment plans. While they don't take Tricare/Triwest (for those of you who have it), they do take CareCredit as a payment. Also, when the dental assistant asked what I wanted to listen to while they did my procedure, I said 80's tunes... but somehow the Pandora station started playing Motown and 70's music. No biggie, plus the assistant said she liked my musical taste! Definitely recommend Dr. Matin and the folks at West Coast Oral Surgery!

The office seemed clean and comfortable. Dr. Matin was very nice and informative, and helped me feel calm through the whole process (though some of the staff seemed a bit short with me during the initial consultation). I'm glad he pointed out that I needed a sinus cover once my tooth was gone, as my tooth was located so far up it was connected to the sinus. On the day of the surgery, the process went smoothly and efficiently, and the staff helped calm my nerves. Although I had somewhat of a lengthy recovery at first, everything has healed nicely now without any complications. The price for the procedure also seemed reasonable (after insurance). I would definitely recommend West Coast Oral Surgery!

Dr Machado performed a double jaw surgery on me in 2012 - thirteen years ago. I really haven't been able to put into words that he completely changed my entire life. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for being able to live the last 13 years happy with my face, after hating looking in the mirror for my entire life prior. Dr Machado is the single most pivotal person in my life after my family. No longer having my appearance be a daily negative factor in my life is best gift I could have ever received. Dr. Machado and his office fought hard for my parents to get the surgery approved through insurance, made a critical last minute decision to go for double jaw surgery instead of having to do two as originally planned, which was so amazing. He was available during my after care and I always felt like I was in good hands and that he was available should I ever need him... which I did a couple years later. My favorite experience was a year or so later when I came back in to get a screw removed - Dr Machado looked at my face and said something to the effect of "I could lowered the top teeth slightly more" - which is something I had considered in passing. I am more than thrilled with my face, its an absolute success by every measure and by any other doctor would be considered 'perfect' - but I am even more appreciative that Dr. Machado cares down the millimeters and scrutinizes your face just as much or more as you do. He is a true artist and a perfectionist. When you undergo this type of surgery you need to have someone you can trust with your appearance, especially in the trying times when you have to wait months to a year for the final result. Dr. Machado is someone who can and will deliver that for you. Thank you for completely changing the entire direction of my life. Thank you for giving my the self confidence I never had. Thank you for my face! Thank you so much!
