Went to Montauk and tour around the place and on my way back I checkout this place. I'ved heard from friends that this place is always busy but I was determined to try it. I park on the side of the street because it was definitely packed that you cannot park in their parking area anymore. Both sides of the street is full of cars parking. I sat on the bar because I was by myself. That was pretty easy but I can already tell that when you're in a group its not easy to get a table. They only have outdoor seating and it can get hot. Theirs lots of people with their kids and they have some cornhole and I think a lot more to keep the kids entertain. I got the baked clams and it was pretty decent size with 2 piece garlic bread on the side. It was garlicy and good but nothing much to it. Its very basic.

Absolute 10/10. Stopped in for dinner on our way home from a long weekend in Montauk for a wedding. We came hungry and we left completely stuffed and wanting more. We had clams on the half shell, the buffalo cauliflower special, lobster rolls, sweet potato fries, clam chowder. It was all amazing. Can't wait for our next trip out there, we will for sure be back!

ORIGIN: The Clam Bar opened in 1979. It was recently purchased by Kelly and John Piccinnini. LOCATION: The Clam Bar is located on the north side of Montauk Highway (27), making it a popular spot for people heading to and from the End. ATMOSPHERE: Cheerful yellow umbrellas shade white patio tables and chairs. A red stand highlights the roadside eatery's name. FOOD: I'm sure other dishes are not as bad, but I'm unlikely to try them after this disappointing experience. I ordered whole belly fried clams ($28) thinking clams are their specialty given the bar's name. I received an unseasoned pile of fried batter, with some clams with traces of sand still present. This was positioned next to fries that were bland. Sorry I didn't see mixed reviews and uneven depictions of clams here. I passed the bar so many times over the years, and never stopped to dine before. A big disappointment. SERVICE: Service is swift and attentive about keeping tables clean.

For years, I mean Years! My family and I have always gone to the restaurant across and over from the Clam Bar. Well, why not? That's where all of Hollywood was known to dine when in Montauk. Has to be good, right? It was. It could still be, but try parking there! The Clam Bar at Napeague is now the other place we go to and ya know what? It's pretty good! The food, service and atmosphere combined were just what we had hoped for. The Clam Bar is well worth trying. Let the crowd deal with that other place. It's really not any better.

You like an East Hampton restaurant with outdoor summer vibes? If you do, the this place is for you? This is an all outdoor seating and situated along the Montauk Highway. It's not an upscale eating experience but has great outdoor seating and solid food. We had the steamers (really fresh and on point), lobster rolls and clam bellies. This hit the spot and would recommend it in a second. This is a very casual place but it has all the summer vibes you would want. Service is good...but you aren't there for that...you are there for classic food and great outdoor dining with an East Coast vibe. For what it is...it hits all the points. Highly recommend this stop for lunch.

So many years ago while beach camping at Hither Hills we came by this place and to this day I still remember the steamers! So delish. We also got the classic fried belly clams which was delicious as well. The six six eight was fresh and amazing. We also got a lobster roll but unfortunately forgot to take pics of the last two. Service was great. They were friendly & nice. Though they took a while to come clear our tables. Outdoor seating so can get pretty hot.

Lobster rolls are amazing! Hot or cold= delicious. The oysters were fresh and inexpensive(shockingly) service was quick and attentive despite being outside dining area.

I don't eat seafood, but let me tell you this place has the best chicken club hands down! Sub in the sweet potato fries! Also great for people watching.

Good professional customer service by everyone. The food was fine. I had the fish and chips. Good but not great. The Arnold Palmer was ok. It's a nice place to hang out and have a meal. People watching is excellent. That pushed the stars from 3 to 4.

On our way to the beach, we decided to stop by for lunch and had a great experience! It's a casual outdoor restaurant literally off of the highway. The tables have shaded umbrellas which was a must given how sunny it was. They have a small bar area and some entertainment with corn hole and a giant 4 in a row game. What made it 5 stars? - excellent service: we arrived on a Sunday around lunch time and got seated within a few minutes. The staff were friendly and professional. Despite the heat, everyone was working hard, greeting customers, and smiling. 10 stars just for their customer service!! They were really efficient at cleaning tables and making sure to seat customers as soon as possible. - food was great. Look, it's a casual outdoor restaurant along the highway so temper your expectations. The portions were very generous and filling (THANK YOU for not skimping!). The food was fresh and tasty. - plenty of parking along the highway or next to the restaurant - staff checked in with us throughout the meal, constantly refilling out water pitcher and drinks. Food came out within a reasonable time frame (15 mins or so). I would definitely stop by Clam Bar again! If you're ever in the Hamptons, give it a try!

This roadside bar is a must! Clam chowder was tasty and chock full of clams. Little neck clams on the half shell were sweet and divine. Lobster roll AMAZING, meaty chunks of lobster buttery and hot. Our server Zac was wonderful, friendly, and attentive. Can't wait to visit again. Tough to beat this lobster roll!

There were some good and bad when we visited. The place is big on the Montauk vibes, pebbles on the ground, very near to the ocean. When the weather is nice, it feels great to grab a meal at one of their patio tables. Food: the fried tuna bites were the surprise hit. Surprisingly large and tastes very good. The lobster roll was not nearly as nice. It was quite small and had a lot of mayo in it. Overall, it's a decent stop to stop by on your way in/out of Montauk.

The pastry basket is the one thing I do recommend with the green goddess (if you don't like ginger though don't get it); the price is great $12 and the assortment is perfect with each one tasting amazing. And service was great; he was patient and courteous. We sat by the water window view and it was very pretty. Their charcuterie board is very overpriced for the amount and variety. Their burger is good; the pretzel is as good as a pretzel is and the tuna tacos are tiny and only two of them but packed with tuna - very fishey though.

We were seated outside right on the railing and had a gorgeous view of the beach. Our food (yogurt parfait and bagel with lox that came with special dill cream cheese) was delicious. Valet parking was even free (just tipped). However the service was dismal. We weren't greeted and it took us forever to be seated as the employees were more interested in having conservations with each other than helping us. Then it took ages to place our order then ages to get our food and our water was never refilled. Such a shame because if service was better this would be 5 stars for sure!
