I walked by the Funky Buddha on Friday and noticed the sidewalk sign promoting Happy Hour: "2-5pm on Sat-Sun". I planned to visit the next afternoon. I checked the website and it says: "HAPPY HOUR 11:00 AM - 04:00 PM Everyday | 11 AM-4 PM. Walked into the Funky Buddha at 1400 on Saturday and said: "We're here for Happy Hour". The response from the hostess was: "We are not doing HH today". Wrong response. We walked out and enjoyed drinks and food elsewhere. read more

Vibes and service were great but was disappointed in the food, especially for the price. We had the Korean fried chicken, papaya salad, and chicken momo. The chicken was flavored well but there was gristle in some of them which made a weird texture. The momos were ok, nothing special. The papaya salad was the least flavorful, it tasted like it lacked fish sauce and was very very plain. For the price, the food was just not worth it and I probably wouldn't go back. read more

A quiet night out: The Funky Buddha If you are seeking a night out with the same feel of Netflix and chill, this is the place for you. On a Thursday night, it was well attended but not packed. The ambience is relaxing, cozy but still exotic and moody. The food was excellent with a variety of options. The BBQ pork buns and chicken momo were both delicious (the dipping sauces were the chef's kiss). The Thukpa soup has an Asian spin on chicken noodle and has an abundance of good flavors I would describe as refreshing and slightly spicy. The pistachio, almond dessert was the only average part of the evening. The service was like a gentle hug from your favorite aunt you never see. Polite, yet comforting and always attentive. Service, food, ambience - all 10/10!!! We got the chicken chow mien, chicken momos, and chicken tikka masala! All were delicious. The chicken chow mien was light and refreshing which was a nice compliment to the other two dishes! The service was super attentive and always checking on us. The inside is super cute and dim lit. Some reviews complained about to music but I loved it it was such a good mix of oldies and current! Overall, give this place a try and you won't be disappointed! read more

Great happy hour! $3 house lager and $5 apps, and lots of other great deals. I tried the spring roll with a really tasty peanut sauce. It was also momo Tuesday! Aka a bunch of momo specials. There's also an unagi don and kahlua affogato on the menu that look really good. read more

We ordered the chili chicken dumplings, fried chicken sausage and teriyaki wings and they were delicious. It was a quick service and the food came out pretty quick. We enjoyed the atmosphere very calm and chill would definitely come back here again! read more

Worst experience I've had in a Denver restaurant. Took forever to order; had to flag down wait staff repeatedly to order food and drink. Over an hour wait to have food brought out and then it was awful! Overall service was terrible and we felt ignored and unimportant. read more

Came in at 5:50pm to try the new spot for happy hour. We walked by on our evening dog walk and saw that happy hour went until 6, so we ran back home and drove over to make sure we could get there before 6. I understand that getting there at 5:50 is a little bit time insensitive, but still. We walked in and sat at the bar -- there were two other tables seated at the restaurant and that was all. They gave us a food and drink menu upon sitting down and there was nothing about happy hour listed on either. We asked what was on happy hour and the waiter asked someone else and they looked on a piece of paper they had in their pocket. He came back and said $2 off beers. We said okay and looked at the drink list again, which also listed speciality cocktails, sake, etc. We then had to ask if it was only beer on happy hour and the waiter asked someone else again, then came back saying it was all drinks that were $2 off for HH. We ordered a dirty martini and large house hot sake. By the time they came out and the waiter came back, I asked if any food was on happy hour and he looked confused again, and then ignored the question and said the happy hour ended at 6:00 (it was 6:01).... I mean coming within their opening week and the staff not knowing happy hour and then that delaying our order and not honoring the food happy hour deal, was a little disappointing. But it did not end there. We got the chicken dumplings (8), which I thought were pretty good and actually great portion sized. We got the bill on a hand held device with just the total showing, not an itemized receipt. I ended up texting myself the receipt and finally looked at it when I got home. Neither of our drinks were actually the happy hour price and they also charge a 3% credit card fee that was not disclosed. Can't say I'm impressed with the first experience. I will say the full meal menu prices all look pretty reasonably priced. Would probably try this place again since I believe in second chances. read more

Went there last night for dinner, which was our third time there, and the food was outstanding. Again. We ordered the bbq pork buns, masala wings and chicken chili. It was so fresh and delicious! Went to the Funky Buddha tonight, deciding on the spur of the moment to eat here instead of another neighborhood staple. Unfortunately, the Funky Buddha lacked in most of the things you want in a good restaurant. The music was too loud, the bar was dirty and in disarray, the staff just seemed to stand around and talk with each other. I had to get their attention multiple times to order drinks, apps, and then a main course. The food does not seem to be house made, most of the things we ate seemed to taste previously frozen. Think bagged meals from Costco. I wanted this to be good as they are new but the food just isn't good at the moment. All the staff was extremely polite, but I don't think I'd come back. read more

Amazing spot! We randomly stopped in for drinks and food with the entire fam. We have a 10 month old with us and grandma. Nonetheless, the vibe was high. Despite reading the bad reviews, I was hoping for something better. We were a party of four and all order different plates plus a couple shared appetizers. Nothing stood out and the chicken in all of the dishes was incredibly dried out and flavorless. It's too bad as the space is a nice addition to Tennyson. Checked out the new place in the hood for an after dinner drink. It was the soft opening so of course I kept expectations low as new places need a soft opening to work out the kinks with a new kitchen/bar, new staff, all the things. The drink menu was well priced! I'm so tired of overpaying for drinks in Denver. We didn't eat but the menu looked interesting and we will return to check it out after they've had a bit of time to work out the kinks. Was looking forward to this place! Service was terrible, we didn't see food come out of the kitchen for a good hour. We asked our waitress if she could check on the status of our food - she grabbed it immediately and it was cold and soggy as if it had been sitting there for the 40 minutes we waited (for the three appetizers) besides it being old, the food and menu were very disappointing.
