my experience at Coin Up Laundry in Claremont was so disappointing that I feel it needs to be shared. Claremont is known for its charm, clean neighborhoods, and overall welcoming atmosphere, so walking into a laundromat that felt this run down was completely unexpected. From the moment I arrived, the outside appearance set the tone. There were people loitering around the front entrance, which immediately made the environment uncomfortable and unwelcoming. For a city like Claremont, I honestly would not expect to see a laundromat with this level of neglect. It gave the impression that no one is paying attention to upkeep or customer experience. Inside, the conditions were equally poor. The machines and floors looked aged and uncared for, giving the space an almost abandoned feeling. To make matters worse, the back door was propped open, which not only made me question security but also allowed the heat from outside to flood the room. With no working air conditioning, the laundromat was hot, stuffy, and incredibly uncomfortable to spend any amount of time in. Doing laundry already isn't a pleasant task, but being forced to sit in that environment made it almost unbearable. It's disappointing that a laundromat in a city with such a positive reputation is allowed to operate in this condition. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and absence of basic comfort features like air conditioning make this place one I cannot recommend to anyone. Claremont deserves better than this. Until there are serious improvements in upkeep and customer care, I would suggest finding another place to do your laundry. read more

There is a number posted to call with any issue. This is not a huge problem but shows the low level of service. I had a machine leak/overflow and spill out on the floor then shut down. I moved my laundry to another $8.50 machine and cleaned up the floor and machine. I called the number , explained the problem and asked for a refund. I left my name, phone number and address. After 3 weeks with no response I called again leaving the same info. I spoke to one of the night guys who clean up and he said they don't do any refunds after a certain amount of time. He couldn't say how much time. Pretty poor service for a high priced place. I won't be recommending this place. read more

Someone claiming to be an employee likes to intimidate people who come into the laundromat. I was worried about my safety and left. Unless you like confrontation I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

My washing machine broke and I needed to go someplace to wash clothes until I got a replacement. I am happy to report the laundromat is close... and just as importantly, safe. Excellent hours for the early birds (opens at 6am) and reasonably priced machines (I suppose). When I walked in I noticed some of the patrons were wearing masks... later i steeped out and saw a sign on the window requiring masks. No one asked me to put one on, but I did, out of respect for those inside wearing them. I didn't see any unsavory types - just normal people trying to take care of this simple but time consuming task. There were plenty of baskets and clean space for folding clothes. A vending machine nearby has soap and there are two operational coin machines. If you're in claremont, and need to wash your clothes, I recommend this establishment read more

Not recommended: weekly customer for 2 years experience rude staff, at every visit dryer filters must be cleaned from filters left unattended for days. Lack of customer service when asked for attendance; Owner Mary turns to customer/ me to claim not appreciate saying anything to staff after screamed several times that dryers one side cannot be used. A customer who spends $200 monthly is a valid and should be respected. Owner Mary disagrees - customer who supports their established is not welcomed. Horrible just got back from here thought I would give it a try , since the new one I normally go to was so full since they have free dry , I walk in 5 machines were broken 2 that I used were not filling up with water I had to use an empty tide bottle from the trash bin to add water so my clothes did not even wash properly! Then I go to dry at this point and 4 dollars for one load to dry and one only had two throws , 3 hours later about 10.00 extra to dry I was absolutely livid , tomorrow I will go to my regular laundromat and re-do everything cause nothing is clean I never ever go here again ! This laundromat is very run down. It is not clean and feels unsafe with many unsavory characters hanging around inside and outside. The look and feel of this place Is completely drab and dreary. BUT the really bad part is that the dryer-in my experience was much too hot. Yo the point that I could not touch my clothes when it was done AND many MANY of my pieces of clothing hot dark spots on them that I can only discern were scorch marks of some sort. The dryer ruined SEVERAL pieces of my clothing. Very frustrating! This place needs a human being present all the time. And the dryers need to be fixed so the temps are correct!! I was very sad about my clothes and no one to speak to about it. :( read more

Laundry facility are nice. All of the machines work well. Our major issue is the homeless people hanging out in there making everyone feel very uncomfortable. They were being very loud, drinking alcohol, and doing and selling drugs. read more

clean! one of the washers overflowed, attendant from attached dry cleaners was there in minutes to clean it up. $5.50 for x- large washer that took 25 minutes. huge dryers were only $0.25 and took less than 10 minutes to dry a comforter. great place with friendly people and plenty of room read more

This place is not in a good area. It might technically be in Claremont, but really it's so close to Pomona that it might as well be Pomona. When I came here, there wasn't very many people which is a plus during Covid. It was clean and took credit cards and coins and had a coin dispenser. At first I happily did my laundry, but then after a while there was a man and he made me nervous. He asked for 75 cents to use the bathroom and I gave it because I hoped he would just leave me alone. He was fiddling with the door, but couldn't open it and it did have a sign on it saying it was broken, but I didn't know until after I gave him the 75 cents. He was lurking around the back door and there was just something not right about him. He stole my magazine and walked out. I would have said something but I didn't want it back anyway because he had touched it. I was loading clothes into my car and he was lurking outside near my car. He was definitely staring at an older woman taking money out and of an atm machine and I just began to get more nervous. These other women walked in and they had been in and out. And I told them there was something not right with that guy and to please not leave me alone. They said call the police. The police number is actually posted on the wall. I called and they refused to help me because they said I was in Pomona. So I called Pomona and they refused to help me because they said I was in Claremont. So I had to call my boyfriend and he came just before the other women left and I was relieved. It was terrifying to know if I needed help, I couldn't call on anyone. I also had to go to Staters several times to use the bathroom. They really should have an employee on site. And they really need to fix their bathroom and keep sanitizing wipes and a broom and dust pan around. It was a horrible place and I never want to come back. I'm praying I don't catch Covid from this sketchy place and thankfully my washer and dryer will be fixed tomorrow. read more
